Anyone here catching the Sonic Youth set?

Yeah, they crushed it 😍 I also caught the colorful set; it was alright, but honestly, I don't think I'll ever bother seeing that again 😳

The organization was actually pretty solid. I only waited about 15 minutes for my vouchers, even though I kind of cut the line a little 😳 I grabbed a beer before the Sonic Youth set on the main stage during peak rush, and that only took 10 minutes.

The only stupid thing is how that fence is miles away from the Nokia stage... seriously? How is Doc supposed to dance barefoot with us tonight? 😢

Damn, I totally missed when that message came through 😢

I overheard this conversation between two women last night near the bathrooms—hardly anyone was around, and every single stall was wide open:

- Ugh, I am NOT going in there...
- Why not?
- I can't stand those blue ToiToi units, let's just walk over to those green ones... (The Porta Potty stalls, my ass. )
- But there's a huge line over there... 😕
- Whatever, I'm not peeing in a ToiToi.

Cheers to branded restrooms, I guess. 😬

Joining the rest of the frustrated crowd here, I feel compelled to take a metaphorical dump on the Segway of whoever decided that 7,000 or 8,000 people should be funneled through maybe seven or eight little stands selling overpriced bubbly water and a handful of booths categorized as 'providing basic concessions under a tent or at a bench'—or whatever legal jargon they use for those popcorn stands that basically turned into official voucher stations last night.

I guess I’ll also add, somewhat disappointed, that even though Sonic Youth are legends, their coldness and overly polished performance made them feel like they were just counting down the days until retirement. That sour Thurston smile when they came out for the first encore—which was just Kool Thing and 100% (with a little extra thanks from Verizon)—really said it all. They were way better back in New York City in 2003, and honestly, the crowd last night was pretty pathetic.

The rest was mostly irrelevant, though I'm hoping the guys and the drunks playing The Hold Steady might actually bring some energy today.

If I hadn't been waiting in line, I would've waited less than half an hour too.🙂

honestly, the whole thing was a total bust

The organization was a complete train wreck, and the staff? Pure entitlement. They act like they own the place—seriously, go work a service job in a small town somewhere and see how you handle festival-goers then.

As for the crowd, they were totally checked out, and don't even get me started on the lineup. Just a bunch of washed-up old guys headlining. What a joke.

Catch you guys tonight 😬

!!! there's gonna be 🙏 🙏 🙏 and I'm actually looking forward to that part

About 4 years, I guess

but I finally made it

come closer and i'll take off your dress

😳 😍

We spent maybe 45 minutes in line—total nightmare. Personally, I think the vouchers are fine, but nobody accounted for the typical indecisiveness of Americans at the register. You know, people showing up without any clue what they actually want to buy, leaving the cashier to explain the whole system while trying to talk over a massive PA system. You really have to factor in that American indecision.

🙂

I feel personally attacked here 🙂

I spent an hour standing in line with a pocket full of crisp US dollars (🙂), only to be sent over to the voucher booth where I waited another ten minutes before I finally snapped at some guy. I was like, "What are you even doing in front of me, you arrogant jerk?" He just gave me this look, spun me right around, and swapped my cash for vouchers 🙂

Man, those Happy Mondays sets were easily the highlight of the weekend.😳

And honestly, Lale, you might as well head home and listen to Exploited on a cassette tape instead.😳

The whole voucher system was a bit of a mess from an organizational standpoint; whether people were being held back or not, it just takes girls a certain amount of time to count through all those vouchers, and there isn't exactly a way to speed that process up.

As for me, I didn't wait more than two minutes for a beer, or maybe five for food—since they were still prepping it—but we actually placed our order after only about a minute of waiting, so I'm really not sure which vendor locations you guys were hitting up.🙂

While you're standing there waiting on those vouchers, check out what's under the PrittPen 😳

Where does it say I can't take my wristband off? I already ripped mine off because there's no way I'm sleeping with that thing on my wrist. Plus, the guy at the entrance told me all I had to do was show my Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival pass and I was good to go... so what the hell?! If they don't let me in today, I'm going to lose it!!!

My ex completely trashed my ticket, so I went to ask what could be done about it. They sent me straight to the customer service booth right by the entrance. Some woman there just told me she couldn't help me and that he wouldn't be allowed into the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival tomorrow. What am I supposed to do with that?
I wasn't even asking about festival tickets, but the whole situation just reeks to me. 👎

• Purchased tickets are exchanged for wristbands at the festival entrance. This wristband grants access to the festival grounds and must not be removed, cut, torn, or damaged in any way, as doing so will void it. The two-day wristband must be kept intact for the entire duration of the festival to ensure re-entry.

You better check with the organizers before you head out to Coachella today to see what the deal is—honestly, I'm worried those idiots at the gate won't let you through if you mess with it.😳

Yesterday at the entrance, I asked if we could just rip the ticket, and they were like—sorry, you’re not getting into the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
