Lambchop was actually pretty decent during their set—honestly, I didn't even mind that the crowd wasn't an absolute mosh pit for once. 🙂

If I have one major grievance about the whole show, it’s definitely that incredibly dull and eyesore of a poster and ticket design... which, I suppose, says everything you need to know about my overall experience.

Long live the great bands!

I honestly feel like when you have those massive, sprawling stages, you really need to book acts that can actually fill up all that space—think Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, or even Manowar... 😬

David Sullivan4 said:nobody went to see Dirty Three at the old factory because the venue sucked, but they played one of the best sets in the US last year. feels like the same thing would happen with Lambchop.

...best show of the year! sound was just trash... still, those guys were easily one of the top bands in the genre back in the nineties...

...at the show, I’m standing next to some guy who looks like he’s balancing between a candle and doing a handstand, and this dude starts yelling for them to play idiot Prayer (from Cave), then asks for a song they already finished... so Ellis just rolls his eyes and asks him which concert he thinks he's at, and tells him to pass the drugs along... 😂

...Lambchop's sound was even worse...

I missed out on Dirty Three because I was busy catching a Stevie Ray Vaughan show in Austin that day 😍 honestly, Lambchop playing at the old warehouse district was just incredibly boring 🤷

you can't even put Dirty Three in the same league as Steve Lacy—it’s not even a fair fight 😁 I caught Mick Harvey live and it was easily the most😍 incredible and intense 😍 🙏 man, honestly 🙏 I wish I could just take him home, sit by the fireplace, and listen to him mess around with his guitar while telling stories 😍 🙏

I’m honestly done with them. This festival being stuck on Tuesday and Wednesday is a complete disaster. The only people who actually benefit from this setup are folks living in downtown Chicago. I can't wait until I hit the jackpot and bring every major name in the industry to some lakefront spot near the suburbs on a Wednesday or Thursday. Then maybe people will realize what it's like to sit on a ten-hour bus ride just to end up waiting two hours in line for lukewarm beer and overpriced vouchers like we did at the VIP section last year (no shade to the local music fans, this is strictly aimed at the absolute failures running this mid-week festival). But hey, if Cave (saw them back in '94 in New York) and Radiohead are playing, I guess I don't care. Still, a total mess.
Pinkpop, Rock in the Park, all those June festivals—they happen early in the month, so why the hell didn't they just schedule this thing in July or like they did last year?
Anyway, I'm too pissed off to type any more. Peace out!

Jupi.

Let’s keep this wishlist moving—alphabetical order, because why not?

0. Lollapalooza lineup
1. Beastie Boys
2. Beck
3. Blur
4. Chemical Brothers
5. Dinosaur Jr.
6. Editors
7. Foo Fighters
8. Futureheads
9. Hives
10. Interpol
11. LCD Soundsystem
12. The Magic Numbers
13. New Order
14. REM
15. Alternative Rock Bands
16. RATM
17. Rapture
18. Smashing Pumpkins
19. Ted Leo & R/x
20. The Fall
21. Violent Femmes
22. Weezer
23. Wir Sind Helden
24. Yeah Yeah Yeahs
So, there it is—ranging from the massive headliners down to the smaller acts... honestly, we could probably stretch this list onto another page if we really tried... And just imagine—after catching a set in one of those tents, we get treated to Fatboy Slim to keep the energy up. 😁

They really ought to drop the rest of the names soon since tickets go on sale this Monday. It’s pretty useless to push sales when nobody even knows who’s actually hitting the stage yet.

Ugh, look, try to be a little more optimistic here 🙂

Right now, only Cave is confirmed, but if they—say, they did a solo show at somewhere like Carnegie Hall instead of the festival—the ticket would probably cost the exact same thing anyway $83.

They've already teased about 30 more names for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, so honestly, if there are even just two or three bands in that mix I actually give a damn about, it’s worth the gamble for me 🙏.

Facts though.
When Cave played at Lisinski, I think $100 went for...
Either way, I grabbed mine immediately 😁

Exactly😁
I'd drop that cash for Cave regardless... everything else is just a nice extra👋
