Well, if we crossed paths at that disaster of a show last night, I guess I should never say never again 🙂
I just caught a rumor on another board about some band called The Meenies from the UK playing a set tonight for free 😕 Does anyone have the scoop? And could someone do me a massive favor and check out their MySpace to tell me what they actually sound like? Living under capitalism, I can't exactly afford to go find out myself 😳

Gave it a listen. It's not bad.
Closest thing I've heard to Distortion. That kind of sound, roughly.

Honestly... my take shifted from 😲 to 🙂 quite rapidly.
I dig the sound, but it feels a bit formulaic and repetitive.
I mean, the description they have on MySpace fits, but it’s giving more of a garage band vibe. And it isn't exactly top-tier, obviously 🙂
I think I'll go listen to some Functional Blackouts instead.

What they’re offering at IEEE right now is pretty underwhelming, though hopefully things turn around soon.
Esce has positioned itself mainly as a concert venue rather than a club, which is a departure from what made IEEE great—back when you could catch a show and then stay to party afterward. At Esce, the club vibe just isn't there, which actually works for me, especially if I'm heading to a show on a weeknight...

And what about earbuds? Not the over-ear ones I tend to abuse—God knows I do—but those tiny little in-ear buds... Nah.
By the way, the reaction time on these is similar to what we saw with Valabi; you're looking at maybe 25 seconds from start to finish. Not bad, I guess! 👍 If it were even a fraction longer, you might as well be waiting for a Rolls-Royce to pull up. 😁

Man, things were absolutely wild over at the IEEE. We were still going hard for a solid five minutes after the show wrapped up, right until midnight hit.

An Antifa supporter is hitting up a punk show, maybe heading to the Swamp later if things really kick off, though they're feeling a bit hesitant about getting stuck in the mud just to head home singing. There’s work in the morning, after all. I know you consider that whole "traitor to the cause" label for anyone who goes to work for big corporations like ExxonMobil 🙂

That's happening at Route. It makes sense now; we should probably just list it as Route instead of Spunk. Plus, Beba is playing at Volé tonight, which I'm actually a bit nervous to watch. As for everything else, I've already shared my thoughts. ☕
