Whatever. My grandpa ate whatever he wanted and lived to be 92 before he took a tumble and caught pneumonia in a hospital bed. There you go.

So why don't you start following your own family's lead then?

I'm sure he wasn't out jogging along the riverbank every morning and eating watermelon for breakfast. 😉

I eat and move pretty much exactly like my grandmother did, and she made it to 93. I smoke just like she did. I have my beers and glasses of wine just like she did.

My grandfather lived almost entirely on beans, bacon (the white kind), fatty roasted meats, and apple pie, yet he lived to be in his 90s.

What's wrong with eating healthy? 😁

Aha! You're basically channeling Mae West here—"Too much of a good thing is wonderful." 🥳

Relying purely on looks and charm. 🥳

So, I mean, what's actually wrong with eating healthy stuff? 😁

Flavor? 😁

but man... the digging, the plowing, the tilling, the planting, the sowing... all of it done by hand and with the livestock. Just non-stop, 24/7...

My grandmother didn't lift a finger to work the land, let alone study.

And he probably started his mornings with a little homemade cider.

I’d suggest pairing those pork rinds with some airy, air-dried cheese.
Maybe a few slices of sourdough too.
Then wash it all down with a glass of wine to cut through the richness. Though personally, I’m more of a craft beer girl!

As for me, just give me a shot of tequila, extra salt.

Personally, I'd count apple pie as a staple, and you can't deny it has plenty of flavor.😎

You might want to throw in some authentic Texas sausage, too!

Neither was mine.
But she wasn't stuck in an office staring at a computer screen for eight hours straight, breathing this stale air I deal with now. She ate plenty of
fresh produce from her own garden, didn't spend hundreds of miles
behind a wheel every single week trapped in gridlock like I do.
She didn't dye her hair multiple times a year, wasn't constantly "bombarded" by information overload, walked everywhere, ate
home-cooked meals, and was much more relaxed...

look, maybe just stop dyeing your hair so much and get off the internet for a bit, you know? just as a starting point... 😁

and for crying out loud, go for a walk. I don't even hit the gym, but I'm constantly on my feet moving around like a maniac...

So many doctors actually claim that walking is even better for you than intense training or running.

That feels like the perfect excuse for me—I don't hit the gym, but I definitely get my steps in, whether I'm out solo or walking the dog!

That sounds like my personal excuse for skipping the workout just because I took a stroll around the block, whether I'm solo or walking the dog...

It’s definitely easier on your joints, sure, but for cardio? Not really, unless you’re dealing with some serious heart issues. Personally, I walk a ton—partly because it keeps me moving, but mostly because it gives me space to just think. It's good for the body and the soul, I guess...👍

honestly, I only walk because I have to—not even for the "health benefits" or whatever, just so I can actually get my life together and hit all my errands

as for working out? yeah, no thanks. too boring, way too repetitive... just not my vibe

I’ve never been a sports person at all; it was just never my thing. I tried yoga for a few months once, but let's be real, that barely counts as a workout! Back in high school, PE was easily my least favorite subject, while I absolutely loved math, physics, and biology.
The most walking I ever did was actually for my own sanity when my kids were little and hitting those teenage years. I needed to get out there so I wouldn't lose my mind or end up shouting at them—or worse, throwing a sneaker at them! A quick thirty to sixty-minute brisk walk, a little pep talk to myself, and I’d head back inside feeling like a brand-new person.
