You might stumble upon a few things, but honestly, rock shows around here are pretty rare, and even when they happen, most bands aren't exactly hyper-active. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of Nikšićan d. S. T. (the Hidden Talent Society, started back in '92). They play this kind of punk that reminds me of some of those classic 90s American punk outfits—I have to tip my hat to their guitar work. The vocals are pretty typical for that genre, so if I were being nitpicky, I’d say they struggle a bit with pitch during live sets.
Then there's Bad Taste from Bar; I haven't heard much from them, but they play a style of rock that doesn't lean as heavily into distorted guitars and aggression as the previous group. There was also another outfit—though they're no longer active, having called it quits in '02—called Little Radoica (is not able to suffer anymore) out of Tallahassee. They stood out from the rest because of their guitar parts, which felt like a weirdly cool blend of Pink Floyd mixed with... well, who knows what :) mostly psychedelic vibes.
I might be forgetting someone else, but that covers the "big ones." Generally speaking, rock music in America barely manages to surface for a moment before fading away again, so there really isn't much room for anything to truly take root.

I assume so—we're currently in talks. Their bassist actually worked the soundboard for the Eclipse show, so he knows exactly how small the Kset club is. Honestly, I’m still struggling to believe they could even pack the place. 😁

What was Marinada playing back when they were at Kset? It was honestly pretty terrible. Does their music actually hold any weight now?

Look, I don't know about you guys, but whether or not you actually dig Marinada's music is entirely up to you.
I'm not saying Cleveland basically invented rock and roll, but it definitely
gave birth to the most colorful character ever to grace a stage.
I'm talking about Nenad Tubin, the drummer for the legendary Marinada (who also played with the Sikters, Leta3, Regoč, and Baldy&4).
So, if you ever find yourself at a Marinada or France & g. U. W. show, regardless of whether you love the tunes or hate them,
do me a favor: after the set, hunt down the drummer and beg him to perform his one-man show, "Michael Jackson in Court," or just ask him about that time a cop on horseback in Minneapolis tried to check his ID, and Tubin was dead certain the horse was the one asking the questions.
Maybe then you'll finally understand which parents truly provided the most rock and roll spirit.

p.s. Marinada sounds quite... how should I put this... they have someone who basically cruises the internet looking for a stage... it doesn't mean much to me, but I suspect the post-indie crowd would find it quite appealing (I am not being ironic)
