Exactly.

🤔 People always say love is about chemistry... but they don't mean opposites attract. That’s physics—that's how magnets work. In actual chemistry, if you mix two opposites like an acid and a base, you just get salt and water. Usually, people mean that "like dissolves like." So, when a girl rejects me for some total jerk, she’s clearly just as foolish as he is. She usually figures that out the hard way, though. As Confucius would say, experience is the most relentless teacher.

Ladies, it probably hasn't crossed your minds, but maybe—just maybe—your pregnant colleague should actually consider keeping that baby.

What, did the child get in the way of her career? Or perhaps her grand vision for her life?
Honestly, she probably shouldn't have been so careless in the first place...

An abortion isn't going to solve her problems. I have this feeling that choosing that route will just lead her toward even more significant issues down the line. Pregnancy is really just a crossroads where different paths meet. If she goes through with an abortion, life might just feel worse. I guess because it’s inherently wrong. If she chooses the path without an abortion, then she’ll be one of those people who picks the right way. It’s a path that brings both good and bad things. And in this life, where none of us can see what tomorrow holds, you really ought to pick the right direction. You should say NO to abortion.

Right now, it might seem like an abortion is the easy way out. But ladies, you really have to watch out for the "easy" way.

Taylor Swift, tell your friend that a guy named David, out of all the women he knows, advised her against an abortion. Even if I am in the minority here, if she’s wise, my advice should mean something. Then again, she probably shouldn't have been so reckless with some random guy... so I doubt she'll listen to me. She has likely already made up her mind. Unfortunately, I suppose...

That's true...

The idea that "it just happened" is nonsense. Pure nonsense. Both parties are responsible, though I guess the man bears more of it since he's the one providing the seed...
Abortion is murder, and an 18-year-old who undergoes one is just as much to blame as the other. There is nothing better in this world than beautiful little babies. 🙂
We are living in the 21st century, and I honestly can't wrap my head around how a pregnancy can happen despite condoms, birth control, or withdrawal (which is really only for responsible, stable people)... it's easier to just say, "let's not use anything," as if a baby is just going to pop into existence from one single encounter!
If you aren't ready for a kid, don't be careless—or use a condom plus spermicide if you want to avoid pills. Though, strictly speaking, the pill is the invention of the century... and its benefits for a woman's body are so well-documented, it's almost unbelievable. The downsides of the pill seem to be disappearing more and more...

Stop abortion! Live and let live!

Nancy Lee4... everything you just said goes right out the window when you wrap it all up with "live and let live." 🙂 If you truly believe in that philosophy, you’d apply it to the people choosing abortion, too. Personally? I don't view it as murder, but calling it an ugly, irresponsible act? Absolutely. I get why some women feel forced into it, and I'm not here to judge them.
We're talking about an 18-year-old girl here. She's pregnant, and she has her entire life ahead of her. First things first: she needs professional counseling. Someone to walk her through the consequences, the actual procedure, and lay out all her options clearly.
And look, balancing college and being a parent is doable. I've had several friends pull it off without breaking a sweat. Of course, having parental support makes a massive difference—though parents usually step up more naturally if the kid actually has a plan or someone to help shoulder the load.
What I can't stand is irresponsibility. I agree with Nancy Lee that with how common birth control and modern contraceptives are today, getting pregnant shouldn't be this easy, but I refuse to accept the excuse that it "just happens." It absolutely can happen, and it's often avoidable.

I’m sticking to my guns here: if you aren't actually trying to have a kid, there is basically zero chance of it happening if you’re being careful. Honestly, the way some future parents talk—saying things like, "Oh, it just happened to us"—really bugs me. Like, okay, sure. You certainly made it happen.
1. Take a couple using birth control, for instance. If she’s taking those pills religiously every single day, she’s following the protocol perfectly... so, pregnancy isn't happening.
2. Using condoms while pulling out is also a pretty reliable method, I suppose...
3. In my experience, I don't know a single person who practiced withdrawal and ended up with a baby! (Assuming, of course, that they didn't slip up once, and the guy cleans up and pees before the next round...)
4. It feels like sex has become such a massive deal in our society that couples think if they have great chemistry in the bedroom, a baby will just show up automatically. That’s just not true. Sex can really mask underlying issues that eventually surface later in a marriage.
So, maybe get to know the person you're planning to sleep with a little better first...
5. I actually know a case. A friend of mine got pregnant in high school. They always used the pull-out method, but one time they decided to just relax and let everything happen naturally. They were fully aware of what they were doing, and—well, she got pregnant. My takeaway? If they had truly intended to avoid it, it wouldn't have happened. 😎

I agree with you on that point...
Look, condoms break. A woman might forget her pill—maybe she’s rushing out the door, life happens, and suddenly she realizes she had sex earlier that day without protection. Even pre-cum can carry sperm. It’s incredibly rare, but theoretically possible, especially if both partners have high fertility rates (meaning the guy has fast swimmers 😉). There are endless scenarios where contraception fails. If you’re responsible and smart, it won't happen. If someone actually taught you how to manage your sex life, it wouldn't happen. You’re busy blaming all those irresponsible kids and their incompetent parents who failed to educate them about safe sex; fine, but everyone has their own reasons for an abortion. It’s one thing, but using abortion as a primary method of birth control is another matter entirely.
Even if someone decides to go through with a pregnancy during that three-month legal window, anything can change. She might change her mind because her partner walks out and refuses to help, she loses her job, or her finances fall apart...
It isn't just black and white. 😉 There are valid justifications for an abortion, but there aren't justifications for being reckless. That said, I highly doubt every girl who seeks an abortion is "irresponsible." Like I said, birth control fails. And the pull-out method? Not exactly recommended as a regular strategy, since guys can reach the point of no return before they even realize it's happening.

I'm not entirely convinced... living life by theory often feels disconnected from reality, though I suppose theory does claim the right to account for even the most improbable scenarios.
I know plenty of couples who play it safe for three or four years, and they’ll swear up and down—with total confidence—that there is zero chance of pregnancy. If you miss one pill, nothing happens, especially during that first week of use. If you miss two... well, then we have a situation. But honestly, which person is actually going to forget two pills? Birth control isn't designed for people with memory issues.
Sure, a condom can break. But if a partner pulls out beforehand, there isn't even a theoretical chance of anything happening. Condoms rarely burst before the finish; usually, it's due to pressure or just being clumsy with them. That's why I think sex is such a serious matter that irresponsible people shouldn't be messing around with. You really ought to talk beforehand, like: "Look, Mark, what if I get pregnant? I'm not interested in pills, so as rational beings, we should probably consider that possibility..."
This is why I have such a distaste for casual flings and the people who chase them. Humans are supposed to be at a higher level than animals driven purely by instinct. I truly believe love is the force that breaks down all the pride in this world and tears down every barrier; it's the finest feeling there is. It's better than any orgasm, and frankly, an orgasm doesn't always mean there's love involved when you're just playing around.
Another thing—abortion. If a relationship falls apart in the meantime, well, if everyone actually took the time to get to know their partners before jumping into bed, things would be much better. You should know how they breathe, understand them well enough to know how they react in different situations... rather than rushing into a second or third date and heading straight to the bedroom, only to end up pregnant and facing an abortion. As for my stance on abortion, I'd only support it in cases involving fetal abnormalities that modern diagnostics can identify very early on.👋

Am I living in a fantasy land? 🙄 Not even close. I have no idea what part of my argument sounded "theoretical" to you. Look, exceptions exist. If a guy walks out on you, obviously you aren't getting pregnant—I never said otherwise. Maybe you just missed my point, but people aren't monoliths. Not everyone is reckless enough to end up pregnant by accident. Obviously, a 16-year-old isn't going to be as responsible as someone who's 25, like
. I support abortion if there’s a valid reason. Honestly, who am I to stick my nose into someone else's business and their life choices? I couldn't care less what people do. To me, abortion isn't murder, and I'm never going to view it that way, nor will I judge anyone for it. It’s better for a woman to have an abortion if she can't provide for a child than to bring a kid into this world only for them to have nothing. I'd rather they didn't end up as just another statistic in the cycle of poverty and lack of education, or god forbid, stuck in the foster care system.

Karen Thompson79 said:Nancy Lee4... honestly, everything you just said kind of falls apart when you end the whole thing with "live and let live." 🙂 I mean, if we're being consistent, you should probably apply that same logic to people who choose abortion. Personally, I don't view it as murder, but I do think it's a pretty ugly and irresponsible act. I get why some women feel forced into it, and I'm not judging them, but still.
We're talking about an 18-year-old girl here who's pregnant and has her entire life ahead of her. She really ought to start by seeing some professionals—counselors who can walk her through the consequences, the actual process, and talk about what her options actually look like.
Being a student and having a kid is definitely doable; I’ve had a few friends manage to pull it off quite well. Of course, parents usually step in to help, though maybe not always extensively. Parents tend to be more involved when their daughter actually has someone to leave the baby with or can handle things without needing constant assistance.
Irresponsibility is what I dislike most of all. And I suppose I agree with Nancy Lee that with how common birth control is these days, getting pregnant is actually quite difficult, but I don't buy the idea that it "can't happen." It can certainly happen.

Logically speaking, "live and let live" doesn't really apply to women seeking abortions, because they're essentially just focusing on the "live" part (their own lives) while the "let live" part seems nonexistent. I mean, doesn't everyone have a right to life, regardless of whether their parents decided against them? I know people today, fully grown adults, who were supposedly meant to be aborted... but they ended up being born, and they're wonderful people.
It's fascinating, really... but irresponsibility is a trait almost everyone in this world despises, even if we're all incredibly irresponsible ourselves most of the time.
So, dear Karen Thompson79... I should probably mention my own rule. I don't do sex for the first few months, sometimes even up to nine months into a relationship... depending on how I feel about the person. Usually, the bad ones disappear once they realize sex isn't happening anytime soon... which is fine by me. I actually find guys who can wait to be pretty great, because by then, sex becomes much more significant and turns into a part of the love itself.
If you aren't in a relationship... maybe try getting to know someone before jumping into sex. That kind of connection can be more lasting, though I guess that's not a hard and fast rule.

👍

I’ve been with my boyfriend for three and a half years now, and honestly, the idea of cheating or bringing anyone else into my life doesn't even cross my mind.
Education matters. The sooner—and the better—we teach kids about sexual responsibility, the fewer unplanned pregnancies and miscarriages we'll see.
I just don't know. Let's say it actually happens to you (I'm reading posts right now from girls saying their friends got pregnant while using 🙄 pills), but you aren't in a position to have a kid. You're working, you have no childcare, and you can't afford the monthly cost of diapers and supplies which, let's be real, is astronomical here in the States $1000—think about what an average retail worker makes. If you were a single mother? I think you'd start considering every option 😉. Look, I know I wouldn't ever have an abortion; I couldn't live with myself if I did. But if I were stuck in a dead-end situation with no long-term way out, I might do anything.

There is absolutely no way I am sleeping with someone who starts things off by telling me they’re terrified of babies and have zero intention of ever being a father... we just aren't on the same page at all...
in my opinion... there is no point in dragging things out... you can usually tell if it's marriage material within three or four years.. the idea of people dating for ten years only to break up is just wild to me, honestly. It's almost tragicomic.
I think we've pretty much settled this topic... getting pregnant is actually quite easy if you aren't using birth control properly according to the instructions! If you're worried about it... then maybe just don't have sex for a few days... it's really that simple. I suppose some people would give anything just to have sex... and that's why unplanned pregnancies happen.
If people want an abortion, well, that's their choice... but they shouldn't act surprised when they struggle to have kids later on after an abortion!!!!

The pro-life crowd is just a bunch of zealots who think they have a right to dictate how everyone else lives their lives. If they want to start having kids at eighteen, fine by me—biologically speaking, that’s peak fertility for women—but it’s a bit much to force that extreme on the rest of the population.

This specific breed of people, the ones lecturing others about abortion today, will be the same ones demanding censorship tomorrow, and before you know it, they'll be arguing that the FBI should have wiretaps on everyone.

To me, the whole thing feels dirty—this idea of meddling in someone else's business. Especially when a woman is already looking for information on how and where to go; she’s clearly already made up her mind.

Besides, no matter how uncomfortable an abortion might be, I’m fairly certain it’s less traumatic than being pregnant or dealing with the sheer intensity of childbirth, even if everything goes perfectly according to plan.

This specific breed of people—those arguing today about why someone shouldn't have an abortion—will inevitably move on to demanding censorship of information tomorrow, and eventually, they'll probably be calling for some sort of federal surveillance state to listen in on our private conversations...

In my view, the whole situation is just messy—it's incredibly intrusive to meddle in someone else's personal decisions, especially when a girl is simply asking for information on how and where to proceed... once she's made up her mind, that should be the end of it.

Besides, regardless of how unpleasant an abortion may be, I am certain it is significantly less traumatic than being pregnant—let alone the actual trauma of childbirth, even if everything goes perfectly during the delivery...

There is absolutely nothing more beautiful in this world than pregnancy and bringing a child into it! No matter how desperate things seem at first, I am sure by the time she turns twenty-five, she will feel nothing but regret... thinking to herself, "Well, my child would be seven years old now, starting first grade..." THERE IS NO GREATER SHOCK TO A WOMAN THAN AN ABORTION! You aren't a woman, and you will never truly understand the pains of childbirth, so please, leave that to us women! My own mother forgot all the traumas of labor the moment she laid eyes on us... and frankly, it's revolting to even discuss abortion. Men bear a much larger share of the blame for unintended pregnancies, because despite birth control, they still have the option to finish outside... yet they take the pleasure that created life and turn it into the murder of that very child. It is utterly selfish. 🙂

I mean, what kind of person thinks pregnancy is the best thing ever?😉

Anyway, I just realized I actually ovulated the other day.
I guess if I’d actually used that chance, I’d have a 7-year-old heading into elementary school right about now.
Maybe I'll spend three days moping about this whole unfortunate situation.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve become a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stubbornness being thrown around here. It reached a point where I just couldn't bring myself to read the rest of the thread.
So, is it just my imagination, or has not one single one of you self-righteous Catholics 😉 failed to mention how many children you actually have?

The question has been asked explicitly before, yet no one seems particularly eager to brag about their own "little blessings." 😁 In fact, everyone seems to elegantly sidestep the topic... perhaps there aren't enough of them to list? 🙄 😁

Come on, you champions of the right to life, those with such pure consciences and high moral ground: HOW MANY KIDS DO YOU HAVE?

Come on, you supposed champions of the right to life, the keepers of pure conscience, morality, and all that other shallow rhetoric: HOW MANY KIDS DO YOU ACTUALLY HAVE?

I think you’ve completely lost the plot here. You've totally misjudged the situation.

As for these so-called Catholics you're using as a punching bag for anti-abortion advocates, I can tell you one thing: Christianity is the only logical stance to take. You don't need to be raised with specific traditions to arrive at the conclusion of what is right and what is wrong.

And regarding the number of children... and those "Catholics" of yours. What does my personal family size have to do with anything?! Our spiritual leaders practice abstinence. For everyone else who isn't a spiritual leader, the primary purpose is the family. If I don't have a family of my own, perhaps I am practicing abstinence in order to reach certain higher conclusions.

But what I'm talking about doesn't fit into today's world: MTV—condoms—lifestyle magazines—condoms—cosmetics and fifteen-year-old girls—oil wars 6215 miles continuing further—terrorism—evil—pseudo-wisdom—ten different types of laundry detergent—mental illness—the pharmaceutical industry—American oil $1.00—having five TVs in one house—promiscuity—AIDS in Africa—GMO food—the fact that 30% of modern food goes to waste—unfulfilled people—mental health issues—the pharma industry...
That is precisely why Christians live according to their vision of life—according to the truth—regardless of how chaotic the rest of the world becomes.
