PunkPen said:Coachella was an absolute disaster, and those bands like Entreat or whatever they were called playing at the Spider venue... pure DESPAIR! And then you had El Frankenstein and the crew over at KEXP.

The best one, naturally, was Watt 😍 featuring Liars and all that sort of thing.

So you're saying Coachella was a letdown... That's a shame, really; I was actually quite looking forward to living under the blissful delusion that I’d missed out on something legendary.😢
As for Watt, it was absolutely wild, though I have to admit the Dirtbombs were just a hair better.

Argh! How could I let Entreat slip my mind!

Worst. Ever.

moose said:I can't quite put my finger on it, but honestly, any concert held outside of KEXP this year just hasn't felt right.😕

you've been assimilated 😈

wiredfalcon2 said:The absolute worst—Liarsi playing at that same KEXP venue (honestly, it’s almost an insult to anyone's intelligence)

🙂 🙂

no idea said:Best—Sixpack at the Spider.
Worst—Things Fall Apart playing at Disconnection in the factory.

MDA, those pests in Things Fall Apart were a total train wreck. Honestly, if you look at it objectively, S.U. was even more disastrous, but I suppose that’s just part of their charm. 😁
Unfortunately, TFA is playing Lollapalooza next month over at The Fillmore. But hey, at least Pasi will be performing there from our local scene!👍

Where was everyone?! 😕

The highlights: Rammstein and Apocalyptica in Vienna. Plus Machine Head in New York City!

The lowlights: Guapo and Fantomasi in New York City—way too short, and every single song had an agonizingly long intro...

🙄 That was back in 2004—those "intros" were just Delirium Cordia bits, for crying out loud. The show itself was actually great though :2up:

Best moments: seeing Forbidden in NYC and seeing Bananarama at Madison Square Garden.
Worst moments: Sixpack playing at the Spider. It was a disaster. Not that I didn't have a decent time... 😬 I was dancing quite a bit and had far too much Budweiser, but the concert was still 👎

Like we discussed over coffee, that (shiver) thing is still referred to as Phantasmagoria. Just so future generations actually know what you're talking about. 😉

I haven't been to enough shows. I lack the authority to weigh in... 😳

Actually, let me correct myself... the stuff on P. is an original project, while the tracks on E. are just punk covers. Most of the crew in both bands is basically the same group. Just wanted to set the record straight so history doesn't judge us unfairly later.😬

Plus, Exodus has the worst drummer in the world.

Isn't the real worst one that kid who can't even keep his room clean?😵

Don't be like that.🙂

PUBLICLY THANK YOU for hauling that couch up to the attic...

Look, I'm doing plenty here... this is basically just a public relations brainstorming session for inter-party cooperation.

Can you or PunkPen (who clearly has a vendetta against me) actually explain what the deal is with Liars?
Like, why do you guys think they're any good?

Look, I'm just a dummy here.

I mean, what makes them so great in your eyes?

Three words: Flowers of Romance.😍

Fine, but that show in San Francisco was Phantasmagoria. The poster clearly said Phantasmagoria, and they weren't playing punk covers—they were playing their usual material, which is even cheesier than the Sisters...🙂

And that Exodus band... they’re just one of those old-school acts that went through a total rebrand, aren't they? Honestly, it feels like they’d be nothing more than a generic opening act for any classic British punk group out there. It's honestly tragic...

I mean, why do you guys actually like them?

Look, I’m clueless here.

Hold on, take a breath—nobody is calling you stupid. 🙂

You're just looking at it through the wrong lens. 😁

There isn't some grand philosophical point to find; forget the "why." They're just an incredibly fun band.
It's basically three guys who clearly love messing around and turning every concert into a total circus, all while playing solid music and genuinely having a blast doing it. For me, that's more than enough.

Nicholas King62 said:plus they actually have good music

I don't get that part.
they're messing around—for sure.
they're enjoying themselves—obviously.
it's a circus—true enough.
but good music?
sorry. to me, it was just exhausting. I don't care how long a song is, but this was just constant noise while the drummer desperately tries to save the track.. but... it’d be better if he just played solo and let the rest of them be funny on their own.
that guy "singing" and "playing" guitar is just awful. my ears are bleeding.

so, is this actually good to you guys because it's "alternative," or is it legit good?
do you even listen to this at home?

Kevin Chavez3 :
That whole Exodus thing... it feels like one of those vintage acts that just went through a minor rebranding, you know? Like they're trying too hard to be the opening act for every classic British punk band out there. It's honestly a bit much.

Wait, weren't they actually the ones opening for Subs the last time they toured through here?
