...poison isn't always toxic in the traditional sense, but it's definitely harmful!
..caffeine (that much is common knowledge) depletes calcium... it flushes liquid out of your system along with all those essential minerals and vitamins! (which is why you really ought to have a glass of sparkling water alongside your coffee)
...phosphorus is what makes kids who drink Diet Coke so hyperactive... and it’s not just children!
plus there's aspartame—it tastes sweet, which basically triggers the body to start processing all the other sugar already in your system...! and after that, you're naturally hit with cravings for sweets or hydration... because our bodies need sugar to function properly, just like we need salt... it's essentially fuel...
aspartame nearly cost me my life... once I stopped using aspartame or saccharin, I dropped 5 pounds almost instantly!... now I only sweeten things with actual sugar—moderately! (half a teaspoon at most)... drink regular Cole if it's your guilty pleasure, but watch your health and your waistline, and pay more attention to your fat and oil intake!
best regards 👋

you hit the nail on the head, it's a closed loop of addiction. Phosphorus makes kids hyperactive (like that one girl on this forum 😁) and then they just pump them full of pills here in the States to deal with that ADHD disorder. (ads and stuff)
And honestly, sugar is healthier than ANY artificial sweetener. It's all just an illusion. When I was buying that bottle for my bike, the manual explicitly said no Cole could be inside, otherwise my warranty would be voided.😉

👋
Maybe try caramelizing some sugar so it sticks, then scrub the pot with bleach—we'll see if that works.

I don't have anything better to do than caramelize sugar and then go scrubbing pots. 😁
By the way, I know a guy who claimed his junk grew by 30% after three liters of Diet Coke—so clearly, Diet Coke increases size. There’s your proof, just how you like it.

Great. Just one more reason for that guy to drink that garbage. 👍 Provided he actually needs his junk to be 30% larger than usual 😉 (though I wonder if he was measuring while erect or 😁).
What a life... what luck, or rather, the lack thereof. He gets an increase in size, and I get blisters. It's just not fair. 🙂
I suppose I wouldn't mind if, instead of blisters, my breasts grew 😁 (equivalent to that guy's 😉 situation).
Some sort of buffering system in circulation. (Oh, please, don't tell me about buffers—it's chemistry, and we've never understood chemistry, so don't even start).

It’s best when people express themselves in a way that requires me to look up definitions in The New York Times just to understand them. If you can't say something so the rest of the world understands, maybe just don't say it at all.
Ah, excuse me, we don't need facts from a whining Coca-Cola fanboy or a wannabe chemist; we just need blisters and to draw conclusions from half-baked information we've misunderstood or ignored entirely. Add a dash of anti-American sentiment, and there you have it—classic ignorance.

Look, honestly. These are my facts and my experience with this drink. Is it the ultimate truth? No. I'm not claiming that. I'm just stating my own experience.
As for the chemistry and chemical elements in Coca-Cola, frankly, I couldn't care less. I'm not a chemist, nor am I a nutritionist, and I'm not trying to be. I'm just an average citizen commenting on Coca-Cola. Or what? Am I supposed to be a scientist to comment on it?

The fact that it doesn't contain harmful ingredients doesn't mean anything to me. It's not even the point. I've shared my opinion and my stance on Coca-Cola, and now, whether someone chooses to drink it or not is entirely their business.

"When I picked up that water bottle for my bike, the manual specifically warned against putting Cole in it, otherwise I’d lose the warranty."

👍 👏 😂

"Look, here's the thing. These are just my observations and what I've personally dealt with regarding this drink. Is it the absolute, universal truth? Of course not. I'm not claiming that. I'm just sharing my own experience.
As for all the talk about chemicals and specific elements inside Coca-Cola, honestly, I couldn't care less. I'm not a chemist, I'm not a nutritionist, and I'm certainly not trying to be. I'm just an average person weighing in on Coca-Cola. What, am I supposed to have a PhD just to comment on it?
The mere fact that it might not contain harmful ingredients doesn't mean anything to me. That's not really the point. I've stated my opinion and my stance on Coca-Cola, and at the end of the day, whether someone wants to drink it or not is entirely up to them."

What does that even have to do with anything? 🤔 Stop trying to lecture people on what's good or bad for them. I was just asking if it's fine to grab a Diet Coke and hit an aerobics class. 🎉 😁

I haven't caught up on every single comment here, so I'm not sure if anyone else has brought this up yet... but check out what it says on the Diet Coke bottle:

Consume up to 2 liters per day.

Look, if there’s a limit on how much of something you can have before it becomes an issue, does that not raise a massive red flag about whether you should be drinking it at all? 🙄

Alexander Hill2 said:I haven't read through the whole thread—honestly, I have no clue if anyone already pointed this out... but get this: on the Diet Coke label, it says:

Look, if you want to stay somewhat functional, you really gotta be hitting that two-liter mark every single day... honestly, just aim for at least two liters of water daily or whatever... otherwise, you're basically just walking around like a dried-up raisin, and nobody wants that...

If you aren't supposed to be knocking back huge amounts of something... like, at all... does that even make the drinking worth it? I mean, seriously—if there's a limit, is there even any point in having a sip? It’s like, what's the catch? Everything's got a fine print these days... just makes you wonder if anything is actually "good" anymore if you have to watch your step every single time... turns out, maybe nothing is ever truly guilt-free... 🙄

Honestly, they really oughta put a warning on those bottles of spring water that says "do not exceed 4 liters a day"... because seriously, drinking more than that actually does some damage to you—though if you ask me, even hitting the 2-liter mark is already pushing it way too far...

Honestly, maybe we should just stop drinking water altogether, right? I mean, think about it... everything's sketchy these days—the tap water, the bottled stuff, even the fancy alkaline nonsense you see at Whole Foods... it's all a gamble. Might as well just embrace the dehydration and call it a day... right? 😉

You ever stop to think about how absolutely insane science actually is? Like, seriously... you know you can basically shred DNA structure just by using water? It’s wild—just pure, simple H2O messing with the very blueprint of life... honestly, it makes you wonder what else we're just casually walking around ignoring while we worry about stupid stuff like taxes or whether the Wi-Fi is fast enough... turns out, the building blocks of everything are way more fragile than we give them credit for. Just... yeah. Crazy. 😲 So you're telling me you just dumped two ounces of water and some oil onto the sample?! Great. Just great... there goes the DNA. Completely gone. Gone! ...

So, just a heads-up on that warning on the Diet Coke—it’s basically because of the artificial sweeteners. If you go a little too hard and chug a ton at once, it can totally wreck your stomach and trigger some serious diarrhea... yeah, gross, I know.

Man, you know what most people here actually took away from everything you just wrote?

rustymoose54 said:just random gibberish about "drinking up to 4 liters a day"... honestly, even more than 2 liters of water feels like way too much already

just total nonsense, right?😉

talking about destroying your DNA structure? 😲 some absolute garbage...

and all this stuff about artificial sweeteners causing diarrhea... yeah, right.

I’m seriously gonna end up breaking my monitor if I stare at this Diet Coke light glare any longer, goddammit...

Rachel Brooks63, you are literally my hero... 🙂

Maybe some kids from the local high school can learn what a buffer actually is—and honestly, which kid is even talking about this crap right now?

It’s pretty clear evidence that water isn't just carcinogenic—which is bad enough—but it literally dismantles your DNA, which is honestly a thousand times worse...

Black Knights said:1. Look, I already said that Cole actually has some benefits and isn't just pure poison, you idiot.
2. Also, I didn't even bring up phosphates or CO2 or any of that stuff you're rambling about right now.

I’m strictly talking about cyclamate—which they still use, by the way—and aspartame. That's the whole reason I stick to regular Cole instead of Diet Coke.

Point number two isn't directed at you, deer, and as for point one, from what I can see, you haven't cited a single shred of data regarding whether this stuff is harmful or helpful... so basically, your entire stance is built on... absolutely nothing, both ways.

And this next part isn't aimed at you, deer.

"The mere fact that it doesn't have harmful ingredients in itself means absolutely nothing to me. It's actually not even the point. I've just stated my opinion and my stance on Coca-Cola, and whether someone chooses to drink it or not is entirely their own business."

I felt like I had to add this here. Just look at this absolute mountain of "wisdom"... She has an opinion, while simultaneously admitting she has zero clue what she's basing that opinion on. Incredible. And then she claims it doesn't even matter. An opinion is supposed to be the result of a process called thinking, which is fundamentally rooted in actual facts. Sometimes people get so incredibly smug claiming that whatever they spout is just an "opinion." Furthermore, it was pretty lovely how you admitted in your post that you don't know the first thing about chemistry or physiology (though it was pretty obvious anyway), but just keep in mind that sometimes personal experiences shouldn't be treated as scientific facts... you know, like those psychics or holistic healers and all that nonsense. When we're talking about health, we should probably stick to science...

Regarding that 30% thing, it’s actually a huge deal because my buddy works in the adult film industry, and apparently, it helps him perform better so he gets a bigger paycheck.
You might want to watch out and skip the Diet Coke, because if you follow his logic, you'll end up growing breasts instead of... well, something else. Then again, using that same logic, who needs bigger boobs? Only if you're trying to get into the adult industry, I guess. 😉 😉 😉

My brother basically lives on Diet Coke😁—he drinks it constantly,
I don't know if you've heard those old urban legends... where you drop a piece of steak into a glass
of Diet Coke overnight... the soda eats right through it.😲 And when it comes to
calories, carbonated drinks are pretty loaded with them on their own.
Personally, I stay far away from them—almost never😁

2. And regarding calories—carbonated drinks are super high-calorie by nature.

I can't believe I'm actually doing this, but here goes nothing...

1. try putting a chunk of meat inside your own stomach and see how you feel in the morning!!!!

2. Pizza is only calorie-heavy if there's actual SUGAR involved. Diet Coca-Cola doesn't have any sugar.

I don't know if you've heard those stories... where you drop a piece of meat into a glass
of Coca-Cola and leave it overnight... the soda completely eats it away.😲 And as far as
calories go, carbonated drinks are inherently high in calories.
Personally, I almost never touch them, maybe once in a blue moon.😁

Why on earth would being carbonated make a drink high in calories? That might be true for some specific sodas, but there's zero connection between bubbles and calorie counts. Diet Coke or sparkling water aren't caloric at all.
And what does meat dissolving in soda have to do with anything? If you toss meat into stomach acid, it’ll disappear by morning too, and we've got that acid inside us 24/7.
Maybe if you left a slice of cheese in a cup of Nescafe overnight, something weird would happen, but that doesn't tell us anything about cheese, Nescafe, or how the human body actually works. What kind of logic is that even?

So, this idea of yours—like, just dropping a piece of meat or a tooth or a liver into a glass of soda and watching what happens—it’s kind of a nonsense experiment... It’s the phosphoric acid that does the actual eroding.

And once that same phosphoric acid hits your system, it isn't really an acid anymore; it gets neutralized. Phosphate is actually a key compound in metabolism and a ton of other biological processes, so it's nowhere near "eating away at your liver" while it's inside you!!!

Okay, fine, teeth... Sure, it can erode enamel... But comparing how your teeth react while you're actually sipping some Coca-Cola to an experiment where a tooth sits submerged in it 24/7 is just apples and oranges.

As for artificial sweeteners—cyclamate, aspartame, acesulfame—they're in pretty much everything these days. And every single one of those products lists a maximum daily intake you can have without any health issues... Yeah, in massive amounts they're bad, but if you really think about it, almost anything is harmful or even lethal in huge quantities—including the stuff we lack, which can be just as dangerous or fatal 😁!!

Caffeine? You get way more of that from a cup of coffee than you ever would from a Coca-Cola...

Now, look, if drinking massive amounts of Coca-Cola has some sort of negative effects, that’s true... But honestly, what exists today that doesn't have absolutely zero negative effects, especially when consumed in large amounts?!?!

Jeremy Evans13 said:I mean, suggesting you just toss a chunk of meat or a tooth or some liver into a Coke and watch what happens is honestly pretty mindless... It’s actually the phosphoric acid that does all the heavy lifting when it comes to eating through stuff.

Look, I get where they're coming from, but phosphoric acid is just there as a preservative and there isn't much of it in there anyway. The real corrosive power comes from the carbonic acid—or if you ask the "geniuses" out there who apparently skipped high school chemistry entirely, it's just "that fizzy part"... which, according to some post we saw earlier, supposedly even has calories in it 😂 😂
God, I seriously wonder what kind of schools you people went to... though obviously, I'm not talking about you, Jeremy Evans13

I might be getting this wrong—God knows my memory isn't what it used to be—but if you take a calcium chloride solution and add phosphoric acid (I think Le Chatelier’s principle plays a part in that reaction), you basically end up with the stuff that makes Coca-Cola so bad for your teeth. Ever since I quit drinking Coca-Cola—not that I've changed my brushing routine or anything, I've always been pretty consistent—I haven't had a single cavity...

Matthew Sullivan32 said:I’m probably going to butcher the science here, but from what I remember, if you take a calcium chloride solution and mix it with phosphoric acid—I think that French guy Le Chatelier and his Principle had something to do with it... anyway—you basically end up with whatever it is Coca-Cola uses to eat away at your teeth. Ever since I quit drinking Coca-Cola (not that anyone has come along to prove me wrong, I still brush my teeth just as much as always), I haven't had a single cavity...

1. There's barely any phosphoric acid in actual Coca-Cola (it's not the same thing as dumping pure acid into a glass versus having a tiny bit of it in your mouth)
2. Your teeth are constantly being rinsed by saliva, which acts as a buffer against that acid
3. Coca-Cola doesn't stay in contact with your teeth long enough—it's like comparing holding your palm over a candle for half a second versus twenty seconds...
The bottom line: the impact on your teeth is negligible because the contact time between the acid and your enamel (which, by the way, isn't calcium chloride) is too short, the concentration of phosphoric acid is too low, and your saliva protects the enamel...

And honestly, I don't even want to waste my breath talking about how "this happened to me" or "then I felt better," because we all know how that goes... the conclusion is pretty much the same as this:
The last time I actually hit a parlay on a football game, we were in the middle of local elections, so I guess I'll just have to wait until the next election cycle comes around before I see any money from a bet again...
