Oh, definitely don't do that! You really shouldn't shower for at least two hours after a tanning session, because you'll end up washing away the color before it has a chance to fully develop...

Honestly, I have never quite understood the appeal of those standing tanning beds. In my mind, someone should actually be paying me to do that. I go to the spa to unwind, lie down, and actually relax—not to stand around like I'm waiting in line at a Starbucks.😉

That’s exactly what I told myself while lying there... just relaxing and enjoying the vibe... though I did end up cleaning everything myself once I was done.😁

Sure, it’s perfectly pleasant, easy-listening music. Honestly, I’ve fallen asleep to it more than once. It’s probably a good thing the lights turn themselves off automatically. 🙂

Honestly, I’ve spent the entire day just lounging around or lying on the couch, so my legs feel completely useless... I don't think I could even manage to stand up for ten minutes right now without feeling totally wobbly. 🙂 😁 😁

Personally, I find the standing ones much more effective because you get such an even tan, whereas while it's true you can "meditate" a bit better in the flat beds, I can always just do that once I finally get back home...👋

How does the vertical one work?? Does that need to be closed up all the way too?

It’s mostly about stripping away your skin's natural acidic barrier, but honestly, if you're using pH-neutral or slightly acidic body washes, it isn't really an issue at all.
Besides, the tan actually develops over a 24-hour period, not within the first two hours...
Just one more thing regarding goggles... It blows my mind that some places don't have them available near the tanning beds. Even if you keep your eyes closed, your eyelids are incredibly thin and won't protect your eyes from that intense UV radiation coming from the machine. That kind of exposure is super harmful to your vision, and the damage might not even show up until years down the road. So please, just wear the goggles...

I didn't have much to show for my shower. 😁 Honestly, I feel like this whole process is going to drag on forever until I finally manage to grab a decent shade. That said, I’m not planning on overdoing it—I’m thinking maybe twice a week for about three weeks. But the real question is, how long does that color actually stick?

The tan probably lasts about as long as a sunburn, I guess. It really all comes down to your skin type. I know one girl who went maybe 15 times and you could barely even tell she’d been tanned, while another girl went just once and had a perfect glow right away... 🙂

You don't have to. She actually asked me if I was nervous. To be honest, I was pretty uneasy—just imagining having to be rescued while I'm stuck in there totally naked... 😳 🙄 😁

Unfortunately for me, I’m going to have to rely on a spray tan just to look alive. I don't tan at all in the sun—I either stay pale or just end up with a nasty sunburn.

Just when I finally let my guard down, a fire broke out at a local tanning salon—one woman actually died in one of the beds.😲 😱The others barely made it out alive, naked and terrified, while the whole place burned to the ground. 😢
For about six months after that, I was obsessed with checking if the plastic underneath was sturdy enough, and I started packing my clothes so I could just grab them and bolt if things went south.😁

I had a dream last night that the exact tanning bed I was using caught fire, and we barely managed to pull a friend out of there before she was cooked.😲
