Bad actors (A-list or close to it)

Man, I actually think Drive Angry is a solid movie. Nicolas Cage is great in it, but William Fichtner is even better.

Meg Ryan... she is quite frankly a disastrous actress. Her constant hand gestures, the exaggerated facial expressions, and all that restless fidgeting she's been doing for years has become incredibly grating to watch. I honestly can't wrap my head around why directors continue to cast her in roles.

A few of mine:
Eddie Murphy Honestly, there’s one thing about Eddie Murphy that just drives me up the wall... that ridiculous, goofy bag he insists on carrying in basically every single movie he does. It’s so predictable. And don't even get me started on how he spends half the runtime just flashing those teeth at the camera and laughing at everything... it gets exhausting after a while...

Steven Seagal The first few movies in the series actually hold up quite well, but honestly, the writing is just abysmal... they can't seem to string together a single coherent, high-quality sentence to save their lives. If you're looking for some particularly grating, irritating scene to ruin your mood, just go ahead and watch the film... Hard to Kill I was just revisiting some old cinematic history, specifically looking back at Hard to Kill, and it really makes you wonder about the trajectory of action cinema in America... there’s a certain grit and unpolished energy in those older flicks that feels like a lost art form today, isn't there? It's hard to find that specific kind of momentum anymore...
And then there’s that scene where he’s just sitting there on the couch, staring at the senator on the TV screen, swearing an oath to get his revenge... though, if I'm being honest, I actually thought the movie was pretty good...

Kristen Stewart I was watching... Twilight Saga: New Moon... I honestly felt like I was about to lose my mind from pure frustration... just complete and utter desperation...

Ashton Kutcher Honestly, every single comment is just unnecessary noise...

Jackie Chan He’s certainly had some solid achievements under his belt...Gas down to 1.3......but honestly, on a global scale, I just can't stand him.

Jean-Claude van Damme Honestly, the acting was just pretty subpar...

Owen Wilson and Luke Wilson... Honestly, they’re exactly the kind of people you just want to deck the second they walk into the room...

Arnold Schwarzenegger Honestly, the only thing he’s actually good at is those movies where he doesn't have to say a single word... The Terminator... you know, looking back at the whole legacy of that franchise, it’s actually wild how much everything changed after the initial impact of the first film. People always talk about the sequels, and don't get me wrong, they have their moments, but there was something so specific about that original concept... just this unstoppable force moving through a gritty, dark version of Los Angeles, feeling less like a typical action flick and more like a relentless, cold techno-horror nightmare. It really set a bar for sci-fi that most modern blockbusters struggle to even touch nowadays...You really have to look at that one bizarre scene where he’s showering with his son in that movie... it's just so incredibly strange...

David Caruso Honestly, every single comment is just unnecessary noise...

Will Smith It’s just like Eddie Murphy; the man really does have a string of solid films under his belt, such as... Independence Day, I Am Legend, Enemy of the State Enemy of the State... But honestly, he’s sold out his own reputation far too many times now...

Vin Diesel Honestly, any further commentary is just noise at this point. I'm perfectly content with him being exactly like Riddick during those first two installments...

Man, where do I even start with this...

Channing Tatum, Ryan Reynolds, those two guys from Suits—I don't even feel like Googling them anymore—Jason Statham, Zoey Deانnel, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Burt Worthington,
Kevin James, Paul Rudd, Ellen Pompeo, Jennifer Garner, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Blake Lively, Ashton Kutcher... honestly, in about 95% of things, I could probably just list them all day tomorrow.

Terrible (and overrated) actors:
Brad Pitt - I haven't sat through all his stuff, but the ones I have seen? He’s just not believable. It’s obvious he’s just playing a part rather than actually being the character.
A few others to throw in:
Jennifer Aniston, for the same reasons people have already brought up in this thread.
Jennifer Lopez, assuming you can even call her an actress.

A lot of people keep bringing up Adam Sandler, but honestly, I don't think he's a bad actor—it just feels like he shows up to the set, calls in his buddies to mess around, films the thing, and collects a massive paycheck.

To counter everyone listed above, there's one guy who has played a million different roles and stayed convincing every single time: Samuel L. Jackson.

Exactly. He's terrible. It feels like he's only even in the business because his brother is an actor.

I guess I agree regarding Keanu Reeves. No matter what emotion he's supposed to be feeling, he always seems to have the exact same facial expression.

Well, they don't really cast her much anymore anyway. Haven't seen her in forever. 😁

I don't even remember her being that bad. Like, in that one movie where she plays the female helicopter commander during the Gulf War, I thought she was actually pretty good. 🤷

Man, that movie is just crawling with clichés—and frankly, I can't bring myself to take her seriously. 😁

For me, she’s at her best in You've Got Mail; the whole vibe and the role just fit her perfectly.

What can one even say about her acting?🙄

It seems to me that she approaches every single role with the exact same facial expression—ranging from those mindless action flicks like Tomb Raider to the supposed "serious" character pieces like Girl, Interrupted or Changeling. The woman simply lacks the ability to truly transform 🤷. Though, heaven knows she tries—poor thing. In Changeling (which, by the way, was an absolute disaster—a total failure in both acting and directing)—I actually felt a bit of sympathy because you could see the effort, but let’s be honest: she just doesn't have that special spark of talent.

In Girl, Interrupted, she managed to steal the spotlight from Winona Ryder only because it was her first real serious role and she was still relatively unknown; now, she's just become tedious and exhausting with this subpar acting ☕

Even Jim Carrey has some pretty mindless comedies, so he's capable of playing different characters.

Jim Carrey basically plays the exact same guy in every single movie—well, except for his later stuff where he toned down the facial contortions a bit—only the names change...

Unlike the ones mentioned before, the others actually make me laugh (even Sacha Baron Cohen 😁), and isn't that the whole point of comedy?

Sure, they're funny. Nobody's saying they aren't great comedians. But as actors... you've gotta nail like ten serious roles first, jump through different genres, and then we can finally see if you actually have acting chops or not...

Does that same logic apply to dramatic roles if they've never done comedy?
