The Barton core is fine, so that part's solid... in the old case, it was running at about 40 degrees while idling (maybe a degree higher at 400 MHz)... this new build is freshly assembled, so I’ll grab the old power supply and swap everything back to how it was, then it should go back to those temps. Right now, it's sitting at 50.
The motherboard is screwing me over.😢
It's a Gigabyte GA-7N400S-L, nforce2... there's no manual voltage adjustment here.😢 The CPU should be defaulting to 1.65v.
I can't remember which program I used, I'd have to Google it.😳
Ugh. Man, I haven't worked with that specific board before...
Try hitting the F1 + CTRL combo in the BIOS—that should unlock some extra settings for you.🙂
Most likely, the voltage is killing you at 3200+, but why jump straight to 3200+ anyway?
Try 2800+ instead.🙂
It would definitely be better if it were a Mobile chip.😬
