Incubus recommendations?

Which one are you actually talking about? Are we talking about Light Grenades, or this one?

If you’re talking about Light Grenades, then we’re on the same page, though I wouldn't go so far as to call them boring—it just felt like a slightly weaker album overall.

If you mean Light Grenades, I'm with you—but I wouldn't call it boring, just a little underwhelming compared to their other stuff...

Personally, I think this one beats out Light Grenades... though it still hasn't quite hit the top spot for me; that title is still held by Morning View and ACLOTM.

S. C. I. E. N. C. E. is definitely my all-time favorite album 🙂
I haven't gotten around to listening to this latest one yet, though Light Grenades wasn't half bad either... the guys are really finding their sound... much like the Red Hot Chili Peppers... moving from that heavy edge toward something a bit more "mellow"... personally, I'm loving the direction they're taking 😬

hmmm... I was actually going to write down which track is my absolute favorite... but I really shouldn't 😁

As for me, I actually discovered them through Morning View... though Science feels like their most authentic work to me, since that's where they really found their sound and started their upward climb 🙂

I just finished listening to the latest If not now, when... it was pretty much what I expected from the very first listen... nothing groundbreaking... I usually need some time for their music to really "sink in" 😬 before it stays with me permanently... if I don't like something on the first listen, I'll probably forget it quickly...
It was the same way with Light Grenades, but now I absolutely love the whole album 😁 and the acoustic version of Anna Molly is definitely the strongest track on it...

If they just kept churning out the same old sound, they would have become totally repetitive by their third record... I probably would've stopped listening altogether. What I appreciate is how they're always playing around with new textures and sounds... those are the mark of true musicians. AMEN 🙂

I was such a massive Incubus fan back during my teenage years. 😍

Albums like Make Yourself and Morning View are absolute classics in my book, though I have to admit their latest release didn't quite hit the mark for me 😢.
Light Grenades was decent enough—it has a few standout tracks like Anna Molly and Love Hurts 😍—but they just don't capture that magic they used to have. 🤷

To be honest, I usually can't stand that polished, sunny California sound, but they’ve always been a rare exception to my rule. 😳

Oh, and regarding the new stuff, this one is actually quite lovely. 😍

I haven't been listening to them actively for a while now, so I might need to do a little deep dive to refresh my memory. Regardless, I would still jump at the chance to see them perform live.

Well... I headed out to Vienna the day before yesterday just so I could catch some footage of the city since I've never actually been there... I had absolutely no idea they were going to cancel the concert in Munich... And honestly, once I arrived near the Gasometer, my whole world just stopped; I couldn't believe what was happening... I've been waiting three months for this show, and then this happens!!! I see they’re planning to move it to Frankfurt now... you seriously can't make this stuff up. I was so livid that I just hopped on the first bus back home... I don't think I'll bother going to their shows anymore unless they decide to play right here, and even then, the odds of that are about as high as seeing the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus...

S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is easily their best album. I still find myself spinning it all the time, even years later. Honestly, I think I hear it differently now than I did ten years ago. Maybe that's just how it goes.

I’m honestly down with everything Incubus has ever dropped, but if I absolutely had to pick a favorite... I’d probably go with s.c.i.e.n.c.e. My absolute go-to track is New Skin, too. It’s been ten years since I first heard it, and somehow it’s still my top pick. To be honest, listening to If not now, when? was a lot like when Light Grenades first came out... it took me a minute to really wrap my head around their sound, but now? Everything they do hits just right.

It took me a few spins to really fall in love with If not now, when, but now I honestly can't stop playing it on repeat 😁 I was actually supposed to head out to see them in Vienna on November 23rd, but they ended up canceling... 🙂
