walking like I've got a broomstick shoved up my ass

omg, you're insane. I'm gonna kill you! My abs are killing me—especially when I laugh. It's not even because you're funny, I'm actually just screaming in pain!!!!!

😁

Pinocchio, lol. You're nuts.

It’s been a long time since I hit the gym, but back when I was consistent, my routine always ended the same way: a steaming hot shower or a soak in the tub, wrapping myself up in something warm, just chilling out, and taking an aspirin. Honestly, that worked wonders for me.

It didn't do a damn thing for me. I can't even move my arms without it hurting—and let me tell you, it’s a nasty kind of pain. I barely got any sleep last night because no matter how I position myself, it just hurts. Absolute nightmare. 😠

And the car! Just throw it in first gear 🙄

Yeah... I totally forgot to mention

SAUNA

...it's killer for muscle inflammation, seriously helps a ton 👍

Sorry if I missed it, but I couldn't find 😢
How do you actually deal with muscle fibers? A buddy suggested acetylsalicylic acid, but none of the local pharmacies have it in stock, and I'm too embarrassed to try messing around with salt and ice water...

Seriously though, what works against muscle fibers? Aspirin? Or is there something better out there that hits faster?

Just take some aspirin.

(And maybe check the ingredients list... 🙂 )

p.s. next time, if you have any inkling that you're about to do something that COULD trigger rhabdo, take the aspirin BEFORE you realize you've gone too far...

Seriously.

Arthur Barnes said:A buddy suggested I try acetylsalicylic acid, but I can't find any at the local labs. Honestly, trying to DIY this with salt and ice acetic acid sounds like a total nightmare.

😂 Look, acetylsalicylic acid is just the main ingredient in stuff like Advil or Aspirin. It's way easier to just grab some from a drugstore than wandering around empty labs looking for it. 🙄

...completely unrelated to muscle fiber 😁

Take a breather—give yourself a break

I actually found some relief using heparin gel (just use it sparingly)—it really did the trick for me.

man, Arthur Barnes is totally messing with you guys, he knows damn well that acetylsalicylic acid is just a fancy way of saying aspirin

honestly, the absolute best way to prevent muscle soreness is to just avoid moving entirely—you know, like staying in bed all day. maybe browse some forums while you're at it, though that might give you a bit of a headache...

like what Arthur Barnes said, you gotta study your chemistry if you want to pass those molecular biology entrance exams 😎

Look, having spent ten years in competitive gymnastics, I know exactly what you're dealing with!😁

My advice? Soak in a tub of hot water—as warm as you can comfortably stand—and just relax. Take some aspirin or Advil, or whatever you usually use for pain. If there's someone around to give you a massage, grab them. It might be a little tender at first, but it'll help flush that lactic acid out of your muscles much faster.
Whatever you do, don't take a complete break from training (like someone else suggested here), because you'll actually feel worse if you stop entirely. Instead, hit a light workout the next day and make sure you finish with some serious stretching!
That stretching should honestly be a mandatory part of every single workout session!!!
Fingers crossed for you!

I tried dissolving some acetylsalicylic acid in water and rubbing it on my muscle. Nothing happened.

Uh, yeah.
So just aspirin and hot water. Not exactly what I'm craving in this heat...
Okay.

man, just drink it already... seriously

looks like you weren't kidding about that one 😕

and by the way—it’s actually spelled acetylsalicylic

But you really need to drink that right after your workout, not wait until the next day!

And I seriously can't believe you don't even know what acetylsalicylic acid is.

I’m totally with the girl who used to do gymnastics on this one.
You absolutely have to stretch after a workout... especially while your muscles are still warm.
And don't you dare take a long break mid-session either... just keep moving, maybe just dial back the intensity a bit.
Always make sure to warm up first. Do some ankle rotations before you head out for a run, or try some light jogging before jumping into an anaerobic circuit. And honestly? A little Advil and a good massage usually does the trick.

It all comes down to how your muscle fibers react
Whenever I head out to the cabin for the weekend to spend the whole day landscaping and clearing brush, I always follow it up with a warm shower—not hot, though, I can't stand hot water—and some Advil
Doesn't matter, though; by the next day, I look like a wreck
Honestly, the day after that is even worse🙄

So I told my buddy I was rubbing acetylsalicylic acid on my muscle, and he basically called me an idiot... said I should use citric acid instead since the pH is lower.

My hands are a little sticky from all this lemon juice now, but I'm applying it!

Arthur Barnes, come on, don't mess with me here 😁

Is your brain actually fried from all that studying?

Regarding this break—back when I was dealing with muscular dystrophy, I couldn't move an inch for two days because the pain was just too much. My GP—she actually specialized in sports medicine—told me absolutely no aerobics for a few days. And honestly, even if she hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have been able to anyway. Even just a regular walk felt like way too much effort.

man, honestly? you'd be way better off just puking naturally... once that stomach acid—you know, the HCl—absolutely wrecks you, you'll never forget what a low pH feels like again... seriously...

plus, you're gonna be stuck being all sticky...
