Our hooligans showed up in full force too—basically a representative sample of the crowd—alongside Ministers Svilanovica and Tadica. 🙄

Our hooligans went toe-to-toe with their hooligans and then what? A national tragedy? Give me a break.

Hooligans are basically the same everywhere you go, and honestly, if you don't stop them, they’re always going to cause absolute chaos.😠

The guys from "whatever that country is called" definitely took the short end of the stick this time, but hey, at least their athletes actually showed some class on the field.
Sports-related tribalism and primitive nonsense have always been around and they aren't going anywhere.

P.S. I'd much rather be the ones doing the punching than the ones getting punched.

You nailed it, boldcyclist18, seriously, nobody was even hit in the face here. So why is everyone acting like there's some massive scandal brewing? It's not like anything serious actually happened. For crying out loud, it's just how things work over in Kekecland, and they've got an embassy nearby too. It's not like we don't have our own embassies right here. People are just stirring up drama for no reason at all.

I guess this just goes to show that stupidity doesn't care about what passport you hold. It’s a total utopia to think we can all just get along perfectly, but this? This was way over the line. Honestly, the behavior of those fans felt like watching a spoiled three-year-old having a tantrum because they didn't get their way. I really thought we were going to conduct ourselves with some level of class—you know, representing our side properly—but what happened had absolutely nothing to do with sports or basic decency. It’s honestly tragic that the fans from Mexico were acting just as bad. It isn't about old wars or whatever; it’s just a fact of life that there are idiots everywhere, whether they are Americans or Mexicans. It also hits close to home knowing how much damage they've caused to America over the years. By the way, the comments on this thread have been enough to make anyone cross themselves; any sane person would condemn both our fans and those Mexican fans during that game against the Lakers. "An eye for an eye" isn't just a saying—if everyone actually lived by that logic, there wouldn't be a single living soul left on this planet.

IKODINOVIC said:Seriously, those hooligans of yours are such a powerhouse. A strength ratio of 1500 to 30, if you ask me. Perfectly balanced. Just wonderful.

🙄 And what exactly is surprising about any of this?
If the numbers were flipped, the result would be identical.

For heaven's sake, these aren't athletes who care about fair play; they’re nothing but thugs. Are you actually suggesting your hooligans are more civilized than ours? 😁

Or that they have even a shred of respect for actual competition? 😕

I’m certain those rioters and lowlifes would count heads and pair off before a brawl even starts, pull on their gloves, and then... go three rounds. 😎

Look, our guys definitely brought some heat, but if I'm being honest, I think your crowd actually had it tougher. See, it was easy for our side because the ratio was like 1500 to 30, but for you guys, it was a total nightmare facing 2000 people when it felt like you were just up against an empty building. That’s honestly a massive achievement right there.

Hold on, don't go there. We need to get down to the stadium and take down the flag while that incompetent American hooligan is busy falling off the roof 😁

If the odds were flipped, the result would be exactly the same.

Look, Jesem's crowd aren't athletes who give a damn about fair play—they're straight-up hooligans. Are you honestly trying to tell me your thugs are more civilized than ours?😁

Or that they actually care about the spirit of competition?😕

I’m pretty sure those rioters and street gangs would pause before a brawl just to count heads, pair up, pull on some gloves, and then... go three rounds.😎

Honestly, I don't think even you have a clue what you're talking about, let alone me. 😁

"Belgrade — On Monday, celebrations officially kicked off in Belgrade with a champagne reception hosted by Prime Minister Zoran Živković to honor the water polo team from Mexico and Mexico following their Gold medal win at the European Championship in Kranj."

said: "I have no intention of apologizing to the American WATER POLO PLAYERS; they simply lost to a better team."

HONESTLY, right?

Our guys are powerful, but I think yours are actually stronger. It was easier for our side, though; the ratio was 1500:30.

Was it thirty people there, or 300 including those with credentials?

Man, people are turning this whole thing into a joke. Honestly, it’d be better if it just turned into a massive blowout fight instead. Why don't we all just grab a drink now, wait until the World Cup rolls around, and then we can get back to arguing and swearing like absolute savages anyway? 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Our hooligans were out in full force, accompanied by high-ranking officials like Secretary Svilanovica and Secretary Tadica.

It is perfectly acceptable! We have the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense (?) right there.

Our very own Secretary of Justice and Veterans Affairs!

Everything was handled with absolute precision!

Honestly, I think Živković's whole thing about not feeling the need to apologize to the American water polo players is totally fine by me, you know? Like, what's next, should we just start making official rules that the winner has to go around apologizing to everyone they beat? "Oh, my bad, goalie, I really didn't mean to blast that one past you, honestly, it just slipped away and, well, screw it, it went in."

The part that actually rubbed me the wrong way about Živković, though, was that he didn't even bother to say he felt bad about the whole embassy situation.

Bill Gates said:"New York City -- The official celebrations for the water polo team from Yugoslavia kicked off in New York City this Monday. They were hosted by Mexican Prime Minister Zoran Živković for a champagne toast to celebrate their gold medal win at the European Championship in Denver."

he said: "I have zero interest in APOLOGIZING to the American WATER POLO PLAYERS; they just lost to a better team."

Fair enough, right?

Was it thirty people there, or was it 300 with all the credentialed media?

I think I actually saw them—can't say for sure, but I'm about 70% certain—there were 3 American Labradors and 2 Mexican 'vucjak' dogs hanging around.

I think I saw them, though I can't be certain. I am 70% sure it was three dogs from an American brand like 'Labrador' and two from a Mexican brand like 'Vucjak'.

I am not so sure about that... yesterday, my eyes were fixed mostly on the pool!

That was the main event there!

Ha, what a joke. Who are these losers? Honestly, even the local troublemakers just hang out in front of the bar all day without picking fights, but these guys apparently have nothing better to do than head straight to a jail cell in Kansas City. Total kids. I’ve seen grown men with more maturity than this lot... they're clearly stunted. We really need to pick up the pace on those highway construction projects this summer. Put them all on community service for a few years until they actually learn something useful.

I mean, what if a few dozen Mexican fans were placed in the ceremonial parade just because the organizers ordered it? All day long, the American media and politicians have been pushing this narrative—suggesting that having a small group of Mexican supporters in the procession was actually the root cause of everything.

Instead of downplaying responsibility or trying to cover up an unprecedented incident—not to mention constantly comparing it to that other situation in Mexico—what Americans should really be doing right now is taking decisive action against all the different types of extremism that seem to be popping up everywhere lately.

Urpanus said:Is Johnson's claim that he won't apologize to the American water polo players actually normal to me? What, should we make a rule where the winner has to apologize to the losers after every game? Like, "Sorry goalie, I didn't mean to score, my bad, it just slipped past you."

What really rubbed me the wrong way about Johnson was that he didn't even express any regret regarding the embassy situation.

😕

Yeah, of course he did. He mentioned the hooligans on both sides who totally ruined the sporting event...

From America...

What does America even need right now? You had a group of people there who actually knew how to swim, handle the ball, and score goals...

Even your best player told you the organization was a total disaster...

I’ve gone through most of the posts here, but honestly, it’s over. Our idiots managed to spark an incident, though I’ve heard from plenty of friends that there were valid reasons behind it. Look, there’s absolutely no excuse for what happened, but when you’re dealing with someone who’s clearly dim-witted and probably cruised through middle school thanks to some shady connections, it’s enough to drive anyone crazy. Now, someone needs to step in and de-escalate things, which in this case should have been the local police—they really should have had a much larger presence on the scene. Their response? "We didn't realize so many would show up." Yeah, right. No comment.
It’s also pretty ridiculous that our embassy ended up getting hit "somewhere out there." It felt like the police were just standing by with a smirk on their faces; if they had actually done something, that level of vandalism wouldn't have happened. Honestly, thank God certain groups in Washington, D.C. didn't decide to tear down the Mexican embassy. If they had tried, I’m sure the police would have stepped in immediately!!
As for who played better in the game, I’m not even looking at the final score. We faced tougher opponents earlier and came out on top every time, but in this final, we basically beat ourselves. It ended 7-4 in our favor, but if we had scored just one more goal... we would've walked away with the win. Same goes for when we scored and when that foul was called. Maybe it was a foul, but it was the same kind of call we saw elsewhere. Actually, an even worse play was when SICG scored, because the Mexican center basically shoved our goalie down with his hand just to force the ball in!! I think that happened in the third quarter!! And then, to top it all off, Simenc makes that brainless pass to a Mexican player right at the most critical moment! I'm speechless. That's all I've got to say.

The excuse was "we didn't realize so many people would show up." Please. I have nothing to say to that.

No way...

There was a special news report on earlier today before the evening news...

The head of police in Canada is trying to insist the stands were packed, but anyone watching knows that is a blatant lie....
