Every time I land on a website and try to actually read the page, some random advertising program or pop-up just forces itself open right in my face. How do I get rid of this junk? Thanks.

Well, you should definitely look into those browser extensions—they integrate right into your web browser—specifically one called AdBlock.
I personally use it on both Chrome and Firefox, and honestly, they do a pretty fantastic job at keeping the clutter away!

Seriously, kudos to you—thank you!!! This software is top-tier; I’m finally done with those obnoxious pop-up ads jumping in my face every five seconds! 😉 😉 😉

And what about Internet Explorer? Is there anything for that?

Just toss these protection lists into your settings: http://www.iegallery.com/en-us/trackingprotectionlists

You don't need to grab every single one—just stick with the first, fourth, seventh, and the last two.

Just a heads-up though—you might run into some hiccups with certain websites because of AdBlock. For instance, I’ve noticed sites like Craigslist won't even let you upload photos if the blocker is running. If something suddenly stops working or a page looks broken, just remember that this could be the culprit... just toggle AdBlock off for that specific site or domain and you should be good to go.
