It’s such a shame Alonso couldn't get more involved out there. He just lacked the raw pace. It honestly looked like his tires were shot; he was inexplicably dropping speed through those high-speed corners, which made it impossible for him to stay in the hunt.

Charles vs Lewis - Copse

Pretty slick move, I guess.
It feels like Lewis was braking just a little bit earlier than last year, maybe...

Look, props to Sainz. I really like him as a driver, and since I’m pulling for Ferrari, I’m naturally pulling for him too. But let’s be real here... Leclerc is clearly the faster guy. He kills it in qualifying, he dominates the races, and he’s got more wins under his belt—even when he was paired up with a four-time world champ. So, if we're talking about who actually deserves the shot at a title with Ferrari? It's gotta be Leclerc. Plain and simple.

And I’d just add—if they even had the guts to say it out loud.

Roger Wright94 said:Mick finally grabbed his first points. Honestly, he might have even walked away with a higher position if he hadn't run straight into Max. Once Max decides to shut the door on you, there’s just nothing left to work with—not even a crumb.

Mick vs Max

Max deserved that penalty for what he pulled there; it was just way too much. Mick actually had the better exit speed—mostly because Max’s damaged floor really messed things up—and he held a solid line on the inside, but Max just shut the door on him.
If everyone drove like he does, we’d see nothing but desperate lunges at the DRS zones. Every time someone tries to make a move, he just shuts the door immediately. Look, if you miss an apex or someone else simply gets a better exit out of the corner—or maybe they're just stronger on the brakes—you can't just constantly drift wide or block their line to compensate. It's not sustainable racing.

I bet about 90% of you would call for a penalty on almost any duel we see out there

Raymond Anderson4 said:Max truly earned that penalty for his actions, as this whole situation feels like it's gone far too much. Mick actually possessed superior exit speed—which was largely due to Max's damaged floor—and he held a solid inside line, yet Max simply shut him out.
If this becomes the standard for how everyone drives, we would end up seeing nothing but overtakes happening right at the DRS line, because the moment he perceives someone attempting a pass, he immediately closes the door. I truly believe that if you make a mistake, or if an opponent simply has better traction out of a corner or more effective braking, you shouldn't be allowed to constantly drift wide or block their racing line just to compensate.

Looking at the broader picture, what Max did was actually mirrored by Sainz, Perez, and Leclerc during that very same race—though I am somewhat uncertain regarding Hamilton's specific movements. Therefore, the argument that "everyone does this" doesn't quite hold water, considering most drivers are already operating within those same parameters.

You can't just block a driver who's trying to overtake you.

If someone is faster—maybe they have better exit speed or they outbrake you—just be a class act and take it on the chin, but defend yourself before that happens. Why didn't Max just squeeze Mick before the corner itself to take the tighter line? Max was on the wider path, Mick had better grip, and he went for the inside move, but he didn't actually establish himself there because it looked like he just teleported into the slot.

But let’s be real, Leclerc is clearly faster in both qualifying and race pace, plus he’s got more wins under his belt, even when he was paired with a four-time world champ. So, if we're talking about who actually makes sense to fight for a title at Ferrari, it's Leclerc over Sainz.

Whether they have a number one or number two driver is honestly secondary—it's a non-issue. That team is so incompetent and disorganized that their behavior at basically every single race feels like straight-up sabotage. Until they fix their hierarchy, organization, and strategy, it doesn't matter how good the car is or who's driving it. Honestly, I just feel bad for both Sainz and Leclerc—they spend half the race arguing on the radio about stuff that any random person watching on TV can see with their own eyes, yet the team is just clueless.

In that case, everyone should have at least received a warning.

I watched the second start, and in my opinion, Sainz drove aggressively, but he didn't force Max Verstappen off the track.
We definitely need a better camera angle to judge the situation between Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

On a separate note, if a driver capitalizes on your mistake and begins an overtaking maneuver, and Mick Schumacher is already mid-pass in the final corner of the last lap, you can't just shut them out. This isn't a video game.
That’s exactly where Max was—he shouldn't have closed the door like that. He could have squeezed Mick Schumacher toward the edge of the track, but instead, he lunged straight in, acting as if he had already cleared him.
And honestly, if Mick Schumacher had been even slightly more aggressive, we would've seen a collision.

Charles Leclerc vs Lewis Hamilton - Copse corner

The Sky Sports crew pointed out that you really can make that overtake there. There’s a solid comparison to be made with last year’s race; looking at the footage, Lewis took a much tighter line toward the apex this time, whereas he went wider through that section last year.

Even after reviewing the second start, I feel that Carlos Sainz Jr. was driving quite aggressively, yet he didn't actually force Max Verstappen off the track.
For a situation involving Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, we really ought to have a better camera angle to see what happened.

Half of his car was practically off the track; these are all sorts of incidents that simply have nothing to do with fair racing, if you ask me.

Raymond Anderson4 said:Setting aside the previous point, if a driver capitalizes on your mistake and begins an overtaking maneuver—and if Mick Schumacher was already in the process of overtaking him at the final corner of the final lap—then one cannot simply shut the door on that driver, can one? This isn't a video game, after all.
That is precisely the situation Max Verstappen found himself in; he shouldn't have closed the gap so abruptly, as he could have just squeezed Mick Schumacher toward the edge of the track, but instead, he lunges straight in the moment he sees someone trying to pass.
And once again, we find ourselves looking at a scenario where, had Mick Schumacher been even slightly more aggressive, there would have been a collision.

Mick Schumacher would have crashed and ended up with zero points anyway, whereas Max Verstappen already has a damaged car and truly has nothing left to lose.

I get what you're saying, really I do, but I actually think Ferrari would benefit from having a clear hierarchy, mostly because they're so notoriously bad at juggling two drivers at once...
Especially if they actually want a shot at the championship against Red Bull Racing, who actually knows how to run a team without the internal chaos...

Isn't that just how it works everywhere? Isn't that basically the golden rule of life?
Think about it like this:

Character-wise, Max fits perfectly with that duo of villains running Red Bull Racing.

Then there's Mercedes (and Toto), who benefit immensely from Lewis Hamilton's influencer status. Honestly, I can't tell who's doing more self-promotion. Looking back, those "negotiations" last year were a complete joke. They can't function without him, and he can't function without them. They've become one and the same.
The only outlier is that stiff, young Count, though he probably was born wearing a crown. But the way these guys constantly compliment each other and kiss up to one another? It’s getting hard to watch.

Feel free to throw in a comment of your own.

Roger Wright94 said:So, was Russell the one who actually caused the wreck?
He veered left right when Pierre Gasly was already there, leaving about a third—maybe even more—of George Russell's car in his wake.

George Russell veered left, probably trying to squeeze some kind of advantage out of the situation. It was a pretty sharp turn, too—not just a slight nudge. Honestly, it’s bizarre that he didn't spot Pierre Gasly in his rearview mirror. Just careless, really. Total lack of focus.
He’s caused plenty of damage. I'm guessing it all flew under the radar because everyone was too busy dealing with much bigger problems at the time.
I honestly don't even know if anyone bothered to look into it. 🤔 ?

Especially if they actually want a shot at the title against Red Bull Racing, who have their hierarchy sorted out.

Or even just having some actual game plans ready for real-world scenarios. It's wild to me that they haven't sat down in a meeting to discuss, "Hey, what do we do if our faster car with fresher tires gets stuck behind the other guy during the race?" (doesn't matter who is in which car). Instead, they're winging it mid-race while everything is going sideways and trying to react in seconds. Ferrari acts like a broken GPS that keeps saying "recalculating" every time their delusional Plan A fails. Teams like Red Bull Racing would eat them alive.

And regarding Red Bull Racing and team orders—it's never perfect there either. I don't know if anyone mentioned lately that Marko chewed out Jos, since he went public criticizing the strategy back in Monaco and Sergio Perez's win. No matter how tight the hierarchy is or how clearly defined the 1st and 2nd drivers are, it's always a touchy subject that needs careful handling—even in teams way more competent than Ferrari. So yeah, I think they've got bigger fish to fry.

So this person goes out of their way to call someone a Max hater, then casually hands Lewis Hamilton a 3 for Indianapolis. What a joke.

Haha, just another one I’m officially ignoring from here on out.

And yet, is four points still considered too little for Mick Schumacher?
