Oh, please. gentlehound9 can justify just about anything. 😉

Ugh, more of this garbage. It’s always something with these people.

Maybe if they just added two more moderators, everyone would finally be happy.

I’m just wondering why every single time—and I mean every time—someone mentions Trash on the PŽK, you show up with lightning speed... and yet, you never actually write anything useful, explain a thing, or give a meaningful answer to any questions. No, you just troll.☕

His answers are short because he's tied down by an NDA with the main site and can't say a word without checking with the big bosses first.🙂
Otherwise, he’s looking at penalties—or even worse,😲 losing his spot as a moderator for the Trash section.😲😲😲
Then the prestige goes out the window, all the flakes bail, and the crew stays up partying until sunrise. Everything just goes to hell.
You really have to watch what you post. Seriously.

By the way, looks like the image vanished. It only took half a day, which is like seven times faster than usual.👋

Maybe he is too. I suppose I should clarify—it’s all about being perceptive. One has to see through the noise if they want to make any sense of this mess. 🤣
And this is exactly why we have to step in and protect MK from all the garbage users. ☕

Since nothing ever actually gets fixed. Adding two new moderators would likely sort this mess out.

Uncle Strilet, I respect you, really, but you claim you clean things up whenever you get a chance. Honestly, with only two current moderators left, you shouldn't even have to deal with cleaning anything up. We aren't talking about 500 problematic posts a day on the trash board; it’s closer to five.

But even those five posts aren't the core issue. The real problem is how people fall into off-topic discussions day after day, and how nobody bothers to tell the newcomers to read the rules. That is precisely what a moderator's job entails.

Hey everyone, can we all please try to be a little more mindful of how we're speaking to one another?

Hey there, my favorite bunch of garbage-dwellers! I’ve got a bad feeling about this one—honestly, it feels like just another uphill battle against the wind. They’ll probably let us vent here for a little bit, blow off some steam, and then—bam!—they'll lock the whole thread down and go right back to business as usual.

I am seriously dying to hear an explanation for this: "Just hang tight, we're working on it..." 🤣

Look, sorry rustydrifter10, but we’ve been watching how we phrase things for a long time now. Honestly, we're at our breaking point because people have been treating us like idiots for way too long.
I assume even you can tell we're pissed off, even if you are an admin.

Exactly. That's the point.
Except gentlehound9 actually phrased it a lot more politely than I would have.😁

The last time they promised changes, we didn't expect things to go south this fast downward!

Basic rules are being broken constantly:
- quoting images
- direct profile linking
- linking people with disabilities (okay, doesn't have to be missing a leg, but if it's some illness, it's just not funny, damn it.🙂)
- then back to quoting images again
- then off-topic stuff.

Like I said, there are maybe six active threads on the Trash board, and three of those are daily staples—the food thread, the forum thread, and the corner for religion and the Lord.
The latest one is basically just a chat room, so there isn't much to moderate since nobody's really been insulting anyone yet.

That leaves two threads.
Two threads.
Just two freaking threads.
And three moderators.

Do I even need to explain further?
Look, use some logic: if those three can't handle three threads, then a single Chicken Coop or Religion thread should probably have 10 to 20 mods. How does a handful of people manage everything over there when there's more writing, more active topics, and way more insults and fighting—none of which happens here on the Trash board?🤷

Look, gentlehound9 and the rest of you, if you were popping a handful of pills for breakfast, another handful for lunch, weighing maybe 110 pounds, and dealing with a parent who can barely move along with a mountain of other real-world issues—would you honestly care more about moderating a forum or actually tackling real problems?

Then just step down from moderating if you can't handle it. It's really that simple.

hollowsailor48 said:I've been completely swamped and tied up over the last few days, so I haven't had a single moment to moderate the PDF.

hollowsailor48 said:It really depends on how you perceive the passage of time. But yeah, the last few "months" included.

hollowsailor48 said:Oh, please. gentlehound9 can justify just about anything. 😉

So, this is the contribution being made to the discussion regarding the PDF—from the moderator of said PDF. It would be quite helpful if we could quote his equally constructive input from the previous discussion about this same PDF, which concluded with a lifesaving solution: temporarily appointing one admin to moderation, alongside the announcement, "We have already noted that this installation is temporary until certain things are sorted out (the process of opening a new pPDF on the Religion board is underway), and it will be the same with the PDF trash." (though, as I noticed just yesterday, Tyndall's appointment was actually temporary because he's already been replaced—by another admin).

I can almost empathize with—though certainly not justify—the moderators on Politics—those folks who are constantly digging and grinding away—when they finally snap and lose control; however, keeping someone on moderation who doesn't just fail to perform any actual moderating duties (and don't even get me started on the lack of visibility or reporting—this PDF is such a tiny, insignificant thing to moderate that it makes a drugged-up squirrel look organized before a Saturday night out), but instead only shows up to toss a light spit at the mere mortals who dared to speak up again, only to retreat back into their timeless moderation void... well, that isn't just insulting to the forum users, it's a massive self-inflicted wound to the administration's own credibility.

Everything is laid bare; how is this not obvious to everyone?

EDIT regarding the tablet hand and the 50kg issue: any sane person feels bad about anyone's physical health struggles or medical issues—but bringing up those kinds of arguments in this specific debate is rock bottom: you were exactly the same way before. Beyond that, just step down from moderation and focus on your health. The way you're acting only further undermines an administration that would rather keep you on, despite your very real and genuine problems, than pick someone from the more active trashers.

Sure, I get all that, but this is technically a "job." If you can't pull it off, there's no contract forcing you to stick around. Seriously, just step down. There are way too many people out there who would vvvvry gladly take over the role you aren't doing right now.

I hear what you're saying, mostly, though the part about your parent is a bit much. But I'm not expecting anyone to give me a free pass because of it ☕

I actually reached out about this a couple of months back, but I never got a response. Eventually, we struck a deal where I’d jump in whenever I have the capacity. And that's exactly what I'm doing.

Nicholas King Look, be honest with me for a second—why do you feel the need to act like the self-appointed supervisor for every single little thing?

Listen, there are currently three moderators on the forum. In my view, even if we appointed another three right now, it wouldn't change the underlying situation one bit.

Why are you making this personal? Nobody called you incompetent or anything of the sort. Honestly, this is such a low blow.

If you don't have the capacity or the time, then just step away. It’ll be easier on you, and frankly, it’ll be better for us, because we clearly need someone who actually has the bandwidth and the drive to moderate.

I don't think you get it at all, and based on the replies, I don't think anyone else does either. Why on earth would people even bother responding to you if you're telling us you can't handle it and it's such a massive burden?
Good grief, we aren't monsters. Go deal with your problems, but let's be real: the garbage mods cannot just be two people who are virtually invisible because they have zero free time, overseen by a single admin. I have no idea how anyone expected the system to function like that in the first place.

Trash is a PDF that I’ve spent a significant amount of time reading and meticulously annotating. Thanks to certain individuals—yourself included, I might add—that PDF hasn't looked like anything remotely coherent for quite some time now.

I certainly appreciate the frequent use of the "oh, just ignore him, he's crazy, he's trolling, he's lost it" tactic to pivot away from the actual issues and target the person instead—but, let's set aside my supposed diagnoses, my obsessions, my nitpicking, and all that other nonsense for a moment; can we please actually talk about Trash?
