Heh, I was actually tempted to hold back since everyone is saying how tough it is to choose, and honestly, looking at all these solid suggestions, I see why... But, well, whatever happens, happens...

Casey Flores said:Heh, I was actually thinking about not even suggesting anything since you guys mentioned how hard it is to choose, especially with all these awesome ideas flying around. But hey, whatever works...

It doesn't matter! You can never predict how a poll is going to shake out or what people will end up picking—there's no such thing as a "sure bet." There’s always plenty of options, so you can back multiple favorites at once. Though, there's really no point in voting for everyone 😁 (besides, we can always suggest the ones that didn't make the cut in a future round).

John Frusciante is a heavy hitter, for sure. 👍 Personally, his stuff never quite clicked for me, but that doesn't mean I won't give him another shot... plus, I love reading what everyone else thinks. And I'm pretty sure this forum is packed with fans.

Anyway, yeah. Just one more and we can get this poll live! 🙂

The album "happy child" by Igor Mirković 😁 isn't up on YouTube yet; they haven't really broken out into the mainstream just yet 😁

Are you thinking like it's a documentary soundtrack or what? 😁 You really ought to be able to find something online to listen to eventually... 😛 Without that, though, I'm afraid we're stuck. 🙂

Anyway... a new poll just dropped, folks, go vote!

I always figured the key was hidden under the floor mat, like some cliché lyric from a song, but turns out it’s just a bunch of fossils. Maybe they'll be useful at a local pub quiz somewhere. 😁

Total classic—this was easily the best band of the grunge era (and honestly, they were way more than just a grunge band).

Dennis Hall41 said:This is an absolute classic from what was arguably the greatest band of the grunge movement—though they were always so much more than just a "grunge band."

It’s a damn shame that Mark and the brothers, Gary Lee and Van, were so dysfunctional as a unit that they couldn't even tour after this album; it took them four years to finally put out Dust, by which point the window for any real commercial momentum had already slammed shut.

Mark Lanegan actually dropped some absolute gems on his solo records too; I’ve always had a massive soft spot for Ballad of the Broken Seas featuring Isobel Campbell.👍

Absolutely no doubt about it—his Whiskey for The holly Ghost i Bubblegum fenomenalan is phenomenal. Honestly, most of his early solo stuff hits the mark for me, and I thought his work with Soulsavers was excellent too. I just wanted to point out how much of a shame it is that Screaming Trees never quite grabbed the commercial recognition they truly deserved. But, looking back after a hiatus of over ten years, Gary Lee Conner is putting out some really solid solo work.

You can even hear the lingering influence of Gary Lee Conner’s songwriting structure in those early solo records. To me, EL sol serves as a perfect example of melodic development, even if it lacks that massive, soaring chorus.

I actually didn't start digging into Lanegan until I heard his covers, then I started working my way backward 😬

But hey, it’s honestly not a bad way to go about it! I was actually thinking about suggesting the "Imitations" album around Christmas. It would be such a perfect vibe for the holidays, especially with that Nick Cave track 🙂

Honestly, his cover album from back in '99—the one featuring I'll taka Care of you—is a much better listen.🤔

It’s just that there aren't as many famous authors or songs being covered by 😁 I was thinking about suggesting something, though, not that I actually want to... 😛

Dust is a straight-up masterpiece.

I can't argue with the fact that > is an incredible album—their live shows back then, especially with > on board, were absolutely phenomenal. But let’s be real: trends shifted elsewhere, and > clearly had his own agenda. It felt like the band was circling the drain regardless of how much quality they were putting into the records or the stage performances.

Check this out—the Peter Murphy solo stuff under the Dust moniker is just top-tier. Seriously, if you haven't dug into this, you're missing out.

👍

Man, you gotta love it when things just work out like that.😁

You reminded me that I gave Downward Spiral a shot the other day—made it through the third track before tapping out. I’d love for someone to suggest some other NIN stuff for me to check out soon.

Three tiebreakers, three massive new albums on the horizon. We've got Frusciante, Screaming Trees, and Sonic Youth all coming our way... I'm already buzzing just thinking about it! Honestly, whoever wants to step up and kick things off can do so whenever you're ready. 👍

Honestly, this might be my worst week yet for suggestions—and who the hell decides on three winners?! 😁

But hey, maybe I’ll finally sit through that absolute snooze-fest 'Daydream Nation' from start to finish for once. ☕

You actually reminded me of something. A few days back, I gave Downward Spiral a shot. Honestly? I barely made it past the third track before tapping out. I’d love it if someone could point me toward some other NIN gems down the road.

What does he even have to do with Trenta... besides being supposedly close buddies?

I find it pretty wild that New Order didn't take home a clean sweep here... even though I didn't personally cast my vote for them...

If you ask me, Technique stands out as their most polished work—it’s just incredibly consistent from start to finish.

Some tracks like PC&L really hit their stride early on, but then things seem to dip a bit toward the end of the record...
