It’s awesome that we have this, thanks! 🙂

I honestly don't know why he posted this specific version of the album I linked earlier; I think he was messing around with some stuff over in the Netherlands or something.

On that note, I just wanted to give our resident kung-fu master a little nudge—we're still waiting on your take regarding last week's tie-breakers, the Mountain Goats... so whenever you get a chance, just drop it. Personally, I thought that album was killer... 🙂

I’m totally with you on loving that era, Lisa Davis46 👍, though if I had to pick, my heart belongs to the "Straight to the Bottom" album. To me, that record is an absolute classic—it perfectly captures the raw energy and true spirit of what Azra was all about back then. There are definitely some great tracks on this one, too, but as a complete package, the album just never quite hit the mark for me.

Hey, William Foster15, glad you finally showed up! Come on, throw a suggestion my way... 🙂

Personally, I still think filigranski pločnik and Sunčana strana are the absolute peak of everything from that old era. But man, that live set is something else! I’ll never forgive myself—a few years back when I first stumbled upon it, I actually left a vinyl box set sitting right there in that little shop over in downtown Chicago. Now, the shop is gone, and honestly, it feels like finding any Azra records these days is getting pretty damn hard. 😢

He hey, Lisa Davis46! I knew you’d be hunting for suggestions right away. I won't bore you with them—honestly, you guys are all far too academic for my taste. I'm not big on writing long introductions, though I might drop a comment here or there if the mood strikes me, much like it did today... but don't count on me being regular during the week. It really just depends on how I'm feeling at the moment.

That said, huge props to you and Amanda Robinson4. You two did a fantastic job organizing this thread; I can see it's become quite the hit.👍

P.S. I remember there being some great breweries back in Tikal, but I can't recall any record stores being around there.

Look, man—is it even possible to pick an album where my vote isn't basically a given?🙏

That's my kind of music, absolutely killer.

p.s. I just can't get into Azru for the life of me 😁

Honestly, I started digging into them after they toured here—just read a solid concert review and was hooked.🙂

Wait—no, I don't think they were actually there. It was just some report from an outdoor concert on that old Pot list—can't seem to track it down anymore.

That album is absolute gold; there are at least three tracks on there that are nothing short of masterpieces. It’s such a shame about Drago Šarić, though... he passed away back in 2017, and it just isn't the same without him...

Just waiting on our resident martial arts expert to kick things off, and Lisa Davis46 just chimed in too:

I'm not exactly a huge fan of The Doors, and I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with Led Zeppelin either. But there's something about that voice and Led Zeppelin—maybe I'm missing out on why everyone from the public to the critics treats them like such legendary rock icons.

That vocal style paired with the more experimental Jar and Recoil... it’s definitely Wilder.😁

Man, Led Zeppelin definitely won this round. It’s a shame they didn't include something like Jim Croce... those guys absolutely deserve a spot on any "album of the week" list. Maybe not with these specific records, but as songwriters? Absolutely.

So, following that logic, I’d suggest checking out *You Shook Me*. After that, if you happen to have some picks for this week's listening session—especially for those who don't feel like sitting through full albums but still want to appreciate top-tier songwriting from artists they haven't encountered yet—here are my thoughts.

...for the folks who are short on time (honestly, same here; life is just too busy lately, even this week), but still want to follow along and understand what makes Led Zeppelin so legendary, or why a songwriter like Jim Croce hits so hard. These two are perfect entry points to understanding their genius.

I also mentioned a few posts regarding the album *Straight to the Bottom*. For anyone wondering why The Doors was such a premier American new wave/post-punk outfit back in the day... the soul and blues influences, the rock and roll vibes, and everything else really started to blend in right around this record.

Anyway, that's my quick little take. As I told Lisa Davis46, I hope she’s happy with my contribution to the thread. My style is a bit less "academic essay" and more like a casual chat during a quick break between American History classes. 🎉

So, following that logic, I’m throwing out *You Shook Me*. After that, if anyone has suggestions for this week's listening session—specifically for people who don't have the patience for full albums but still want to highlight great songwriters they haven't discovered yet—

...well, for those short on time—which is basically all of us lately, myself included—but who are following the thread and want to wrap their heads around why Led Zeppelin is legendary, or why an artist like Chuck Berry is such a genius... these two are perfect entry points into their work...

I also brought up a couple of posts regarding the better album Straight to the Bottom for anyone wondering why that band was such a top-tier American punk/post-punk outfit... the blues and rock influences hit harder later, which you can already hear on this record...

Anyway, just my quick little take—like I said, Lisa Davis, hope you're happy with my contribution to the thread. This isn't some formal essay; it's more like a quick chat during a break between classes... 🎉

I always figured that was just my teenage obsession, but honestly, I haven't heard anyone from the global punk or new wave scenes claim they recorded a live album even stronger than *Straight to the Bottom*.
My go-tos are *Talking Heads* and *It's Alive*, and that's pretty much it from me.

It would be great if Regica actually got what she wanted over the weekend. It would be a real shame if Ajuto had to outshine her—though, honestly, that goddess should probably start listening to Tonson before she turns in for the night.
