God, I hate Hollywood.
1. Seriously, how the hell did they even land that plane there??????????????
2. CGI gets more pathetic with every single movie coming out.
3. One minute they're just cruising, the next they've totally taken over the White House and the bunker where the President is hiding—since when was it that easy to bypass the Secret Service? (Pro tip: look up SALT if you want to see how things actually work)
4. I bet the script looked exactly like this:
EXT. WHITE HOUSE - AFTERNOON
Bunch of charlie's penetrate The White house and there's nothing US Army, secret service or D.C. Police can do 🤣
Or better yet, right in the middle of the movie, the hero starts chatting up the villain and casually mentions he saved the President's son—total FACEPALM moment.
And don't even get me started on them having HYDRA 6. Like, where did they even get that? And then suddenly—bam—it's all "we'll explain later" (spoiler: they won't, they probably just picked it up at a flea market).

What else...

It feels like the director has some weird fetish for headshots; like 90% of the kills are just brains being splattered everywhere.

Also, that whole opening bit where the First Lady dies was completely pointless.🤷

But alright, bottom line: it's a solid action flick in the way I like 'em—zero thinking required, just pure chaos and explosions. If it were called Die Hard, it would fit perfectly...

Now I gotta go watch the other one...

That's exactly why it isn't rated very highly on IMDb...

This is the impression the movie left on me, even though I can't quite recall the specifics.🤣

Look, Olympus Has Fallen is decent. It’s not some cinematic masterpiece, but why should it be? Every action flick needs a little dose of "don't think too hard," right? It just depends on how much that bothers you. Butler is a solid choice for this kind of stuff—he’s got the look. My only real gripes are the forgettable soundtrack and, honestly, the pretty brutal way they handled the female characters, especially the First Lady.

Olympus Has Fallen is nothing more than filthy, far-right Republican propaganda designed to instill a constant sense of paranoia in the viewer. It operates on the tired premise that any outsider—in this case, a gook or a Charlie—is an inherent enemy who inevitably infiltrates "our" ranks by exploiting the weakness of weeping liberals. It stands as one of the most insidious and repulsive films I have encountered lately, drawing unfavorable comparisons to the Red Dawn remake, though even the original lacked any real substance. The danger of this film lies not just in its sheer, nonsensical naivety.
White House Down is arguably better constructed simply because it identifies a tangible, domestic threat—homegrown militants and terrorists. One could even interpret it as a subtle allusion to the disruptive tactics employed by the Tea Party within Congress and the Senate.

Ugh, talk about a massive right-wing meltdown... We haven't seen this much blatant American fascism since the glory days of Chuck Norris and Rambo. Honestly, that’s probably why the movie crushed it at the box office compared to White House Down. It’s like Americans were just sitting there, dying for a chance to see someone hate on a big screen again and relive those old-school Cold War-style shouting matches. Someone needs to ban the movie immediately! Just go ahead and burn every single DVD you find at Walmart!

If this movie were actually as insidious as people claim, you wouldn't be trashing it—you'd be praising it.
Republican propaganda? Please. As if Republicans and Democrats are so fundamentally different that we have to distinguish between their versions of propaganda. By that logic, I guess "The Lone Ranger" must be Democratic propaganda!?
It’s an action flick with a bit more Hollywood exaggeration than usual, but otherwise, it's completely harmless.

Don't just burn the movie; throw the filmmakers in jail! 😁

White House Down is essentially Democratic propaganda—it paints the villains as right-wingers—and frankly, the movie itself is nearly as subpar as its politics.
For an action flick to actually land, you either need a compelling antagonist or you have to lean into absolutely absurd, over-the-top sequences.

Wait, so in Olympus Has Fallen, are the villains actually leftists?

Of course it’s a good watch. Who even cares about propaganda anymore? Seriously, what’s wrong with the main villain in Olympus Has Fallen? And honestly, how much more "over the top" action are we supposed to take before it's too much?

Look, I’ll admit it—the camera itself isn't actually a bad piece of equipment.

It’s perfect for dodging stuff. 😁

It’s definitely not Rade Šerbedžija! What kind of movie is this where he isn't even the villain? It’s garbage, that's what it is.

I’d love to see that happen... 😬 Honestly, have they no shame? 🤣 Every single time I think about that movie, I regret the hour and a half I wasted on it. And now they want to do a sequel too?... 😛

Totally unnecessary... just like that 96 Hours movie with Liam Neeson.☕
A completely unnecessary sequel.🤷
