The trailer didn't give me nearly as much hope as this poster did. "We left for a reason." I’m curious to find out what that reason was.

I don't know, I have a gut feeling this movie is going to be a total disaster. To be fair, the trailer is somewhat interesting.

Based on the synopsis I read and what I saw in the trailer, this looks like it could really deliver. These days, finding a solid sci-fi flick that actually has some emotional depth is a rare treat. Most high-budget garbage coming out of Hollywood just misses the mark. We'll see how it plays out.
By the way, does anyone know which soundtrack is playing in the trailer? 🙂.

I never could stand Will Smith. He’s just your typical wannabe cool guy. His son is alright, but honestly, the way they both try too hard is just exhausting.

I suppose this might be the first Shyamalan film where he didn't actually handle the screenplay himself. Who knows, maybe it could finally break that streak of bad luck we've been seeing.

It's a tough call. Either it’s a total mess or we get Will Smith in the lead, and he might be one of the most overrated actors in America. I guess it feels like just another big-budget action flick without much substance.

It looks like people had to bail because Earth—or rather, the entire biosphere—developed some kind of defense mechanism to protect itself from human destruction. Basically, every other living thing evolved an anti-human reflex, an instinct to hunt down and kill anything human.
Could be a solid movie, we'll see. Honestly, I don't get the people who trash everything before they even see it without having any actual arguments.

Judging by the trailer, it seems M. Night Shyamalan basically spoiled the big twist right in the teaser—apparently, the animals and plants have developed their own defense mechanisms... one might say we’ve landed on a planet of The flora & fauna ala Shyamalan.
And honestly, there isn't even a hint of evolution here; forget about Darwin, we just have some hyper-aggressive lions and tigers attacking people on sight—acting exactly as they would if they were being provoked today.
I suspect this is going to be a bit of a rough watch, but I suppose I'll give it a shot, if only because we're getting a few more SFov titles that aren't Transformers...

I suppose I could argue that the planet just doesn't like us—that everything living on it is basically out to get us—and honestly, looking at things today, I might be right.😁
One thing really bugged me, though. In a survival kit from a thousand years in the future, a kid would probably just end up with two knives and a "good luck" note.😕 Where are the lasers? The pulse weapons? Anything high-tech at all?🙂

Man, M. Night Shyamalan's name has basically become shorthand for a total disaster. He talks a big game, though. Mad respect to the studio execs for giving him another shot at the whip, but honestly? This one isn't going to land either.

It’s an impossibly brief timeframe for those kinds of radical shifts—that’s the whole issue here. They should have at least used a symbolic figure, like 40,000 years, or perhaps suggested some sort of runaway biotechnology or rapid biochemical reactions to justify it... but as it stands, this whole thing feels like a planet of The flora & fauna ala M. Night Shyamalan, which simply makes no sense at all...

Honestly, if we haven't managed to engineer pocket-sized demi-gods capable of basically granting any whim by a thousand years from now... then we have failed on a much more fundamental level...

A laser might not be the most lethal thing out there—sometimes, a simple tool can actually be more effective and versatile than a high-tech beam.
Plus, you don't even need to worry about finding a power source.
