I don't have much of an argument here—though the trailer hints at where things are heading, and trailers can be misleading either way—it’s just a gut feeling that after Earth won't be worth the time.
Still, if I managed to sit through Skyline, I can handle this. I'm expecting a mess somewhere in the realm of Prometheus, just hopefully less hollow and pretentious.

By the way, I've never been a fan of nepotism—not in any industry, really—but that's the least of my concerns with this one. Will is a decent guy, sure, but I honestly can't take him seriously in any role; he just doesn't have that presence.

I feel the same way about him as an actor. I loved his stuff back in the 90s—you know, the whole "Prince from Bel-Air," "Bad Boys," "Independence Day," and "MIB" era. But since the new millennium hit, he’s basically just churning out garbage. The only ones that actually worked for me were "Pursuit of Happyness" (probably his best performance) and "I Am Legend." I guess "Bad Boys II" is still watchable, but "Hitch," "Hancock," and "I, Robot" were total skips for me.☕

I've seen mixed reviews regarding "Seven Pounds," so I gotta check it out. Supposedly it's a solid drama, I just hope it isn't overly sappy.

I think I’m gonna sit this one out because the risk just feels way too high, and honestly, I have zero desire to just throw my money down the drain.

Man, I still remember all that noise surrounding John Carter—everyone was complaining about the budget or saying it wouldn't make its money back, but I walked away feeling like it was actually pretty decent, and seeing it on the big screen made it totally worth the ticket price. But looking at the reviews for this one? They seem super low, and there's definitely more quality stuff out there than this, especially compared to total trash like Battle la.

Besides, there's already a massive backlog of movies to catch up on, and before you know it, we'll be hyped for Superman anyway.

Komsija ended up buying me a ticket since I didn't have anyone to go with, so we hit up the premiere today—and man, let me tell you, the movie was absolutely killer!!! 🙏

I’m actually pretty blown away, and honestly, quite a bit more than I expected. Ugh, I am so hyped to just get home tonight so I can sit down and write up a massive, detailed review of my thoughts.

Will Smith should probably just stick to making movies like Bad Boys.
His son's work is pretty dull; he's clearly not cut out for Hollywood.

Man, what a letdown. Honestly, I don't even blame Shyamalan here—it’s more on Smith. The acting felt totally hollow, and the plot? Just didn't make any sense at all. 🤷Sure, it looks great visually, but then again, it's kind of hard for a modern sci-fi flick *not* to look pretty. 4/10

How was Wahlberg in Happening, though? I wouldn't go as far as blaming the director. (Smith isn't exactly an A-lister, but there isn't much to work with in a script like this. It’s almost funny seeing people claim Cruise was brilliant in Oblivion.) Has anyone actually sat through Happening? Just thinking about that disaster kills any interest I have in watching a new Shyamalan flick. Don't get your hopes up; maybe just listen to the critics this time. ☕

Honestly, I am quite looking forward to skipping this movie entirely—it might just be a thirty-minute sketch for me.

I haven't seen Happening, so I can't really speak to Wahlberg's performance. When I said it's more on Smith, I wasn't attacking Smith's acting—it's more that Smith came up with the concept, produced it, picked Shyamalan to direct, and even directed part of it himself. If we're talking about who's responsible for this mess, it's definitely Smith.

Wait, hold up, is Smith playing some kind of tough guy here too?
Because honestly, every time I catch a glimpse of that ridiculous face of his, my stomach starts doing somersaults.

I'm planning on checking this movie out in the next few days... I see nothing but negative reviews everywhere lately, and the rating on IMDb isn't looking great either, but we'll just have to see 😉

I haven't seen it yet, but I suspect Smith botched it since he's the one heading this project.

What really interests me is whether Shyamalan actually stepped up his game technically, because his last few films have been quite distasteful. It felt like there wasn't even a decent attempt at editing; those mid-scene cuts make it seem like he couldn't care less and is only there for the paycheck.

I didn't have any major gripes with the technical side. Actually, there are a couple of really solid shots.

Here are my thoughts from someone who actually sat through the whole thing:

Honestly, this movie could have easily been aired on, I don't know, Discovery, broken down into a bunch of little 15-minute segments. If it were any longer—I mean, if it actually hit a full 100 minutes—it would have been pure torture. Because even though it starts off somewhat promisingly, watching young Smith wandering around the planet looking for some SOS-apparatus that ended up just 100 kilometers away from his wrecked boat and his dad is just... boring. Like, seriously, it was boring enough to make a seven or eight-year-old kid sitting behind me start fidgeting in his seat. And what do you think older kids would be doing?

So, yeah, they really missed the mark on the target audience here. It’s not for adults, it’s not for older kids, and it’s definitely not for the little ones. So who is it actually for? I guess it's for the dad, just so he can brag about having an actor for a son! Maybe we should all just be merciful with our ratings because of that? It feels like a naive attempt at being noble—trying to show "wholesome family values" and a fairy-tale version of growing up in a harsh world, which is just a way to justify why they spent all this money on this instead of investing it into something actually useful. Anyway, grab some popcorn, give it a pass, and just give it a 2/10.

I mean, sure, you might find a few comments over on YouTube saying the movie is actually good and they don't get why everyone is hating on it and whatnot... but for me, that's not nearly enough reason to risk throwing my hard-earned cash away.

I was honestly counting down the minutes until this slog finally ended. I can’t even remember the last time I sat through something this boring in a theater. What a complete disaster. Just gross. I actually feel a bit sick knowing I wasted my time on this.🙂🙂

I was thinking about checking out this movie, but looking at the reviews, it doesn't seem like anyone is actually raving about it. Maybe I'll just catch it online sometime if I'm bored enough...

Man, what a total letdown, right? I was actually looking forward to this movie so much, too. What a waste of time!

Honestly, the garbage from Battlefield Earth was more engaging than this absolute trash.
I’m just throwing my money away and wasting my life on this.
