It’s a solid trailer, though I found the first teaser somewhat more compelling. Ultimately, my hope is that the final twist delivers the kind of impact we expect when M. Night Shyamalan is actually operating at his peak.

This new poster is quite impressive:

That trailer looks solid, and honestly, even the poster is hitting the mark... mmm, I’ve got a really good feeling about this one.

As much as I love this genre, I’m definitely skipping this one—mostly because of Will Smith’s narcissism. It’s not enough for him to just be on the big screen; he has to drag his whole family into the spotlight too. All we need now is Jaden Smith's mom joining 🙄

It’s such a shame, considering how much talent was assembled for this project.

I suppose we won't just be watching one long-eared rabbit anymore, but two...

I’ve gotta be honest, his son really rubbed me the wrong way in The Day the Earth Stood Still, and honestly, even Will Smith isn't doing much to save it. I guess I’ll just have to suck it up though, since I'm such a sucker for any solid sci-fi.

Man, I had no idea Will Smith had such a massive group of haters following him around! Honestly, I’ve always thought he was a blast to watch, and his movies have always been just as much fun.

Look, he was great in The Fresh Prince, and honestly? That’s enough for me.

I usually enjoy diving into post-apocalyptic flicks, "save the planet" scenarios, or those big meteor and comet disaster movies... you know, when I'm in the right mood, that kind of stuff really hits the spot. But this? This just looks like pure desperation. 😛

maybe you're onto something here: these two are actually stuck in some kind of nature preserve, totally cut off from the modern world, and they JUST THINK they're living in the future! TWIST!

But, alright, srsly 😁

Shyamalan hasn't really inspired much hope in me these last few years...
Fingers crossed he turns it around.

Kind of like that idea from The Village. 😉

A total disaster: critics absolutely panned it, with some even going as far as comparing it to Travolta's infamous "Battlefield Earth," which some claim is the worst movie ever made and basically just a feature-length advertisement for Scientology.

If there are any of you actually counting down the days until this movie hits theaters, I figured I'd throw a chance your way to snag some tickets 😁 The Game kicked off yesterday, so you've still got a window to grab some 😁

Anyway, regarding the actual flick, I'm kind of digging the trailer, I guess... I'm looking forward to seeing how that whole father-son dynamic plays out in a massive sci-fi spectacle like this 😁

IMDb: 4.6/10 😲
Metascore: 31/100
Rotten Tomatoes: 12% 😱

Whoa, I just took a look at these ratings and man, I am actually kind of shaken. This was totally unexpected.

I was honestly expecting something in the six range on IMDb, but this is just brutal. And seeing a 12% on Rotten Tomatoes? That’s just straight-up painful.

The reviews over on IMDb are all over the place, too. Honestly, if this turns out to be a total disaster like Battle, why would I even bother wasting my money? I wouldn't even touch it if it's that bad.

Has anyone actually sat down and watched it yet? 🤷

I’ve always been pretty skeptical about those IMDb ratings, mostly just because I find myself disagreeing with them more often than not. There are tons of movies sitting down there with a score below 5 that I actually really enjoy, so for me, it’s never been much of a reliable yardstick.🙂
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying some films don't genuinely deserve a higher rating, but at the end of the day, it's all just a matter of taste, right? 🙂
We'll just have to wait and see, though I guess I am kind of curious to see how this all plays out. 🙂

True, but I don't think that applies to big blockbusters, because if I recall correctly, I can't remember a single sci-fi spectacle getting such a low rating.

Usually, blockbuster ratings tend to be way too high rather than way too low. And besides, I've watched plenty of horror flicks rated under a 4 that were actually solid—some even better than the highly-rated stuff—but when it comes to blockbusters, I really can't remember one dropping below a 5.

So, I saw that Epic Movie has a 1.5/10 on IMDb. Honestly? I don't really care if people like it or not. It’s just one of those movies. I mean, maybe it's bad, maybe it's just stupid, I guess. I don't know. I don't really have a strong opinion on whether it's actually good or not. :P
just kidding 🙂 )

I don't know, I’m kind of surprised by how low those ratings for that movie are. Maybe I just didn't get it, but honestly, those scores seem a bit off to me.
Look, Hollywood has pumped out plenty of absolute garbage over the last decade or so. I mean, they've hit some seriously low lows before. So, honestly? It’s kind of hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that this specific thing is actually terrible even by their incredibly low standards. I guess it's possible, but it seems unlikely.
Look, Fast & Furious is sitting at around 72% on Rotten, and Iron Man 3 is somewhere in that same ballpark—but honestly, both of those movies are pretty mediocre if you ask me. So, if this thing ends up with a 12%, I can't even begin to imagine how much of an absolute dumpster fire it’s actually going to be. 🤣

Is this just one massive conspiracy by critics against Scientology, Will Smith, and all that Hollywood nepotism? 😂

Man, honestly, blockbusters stopped being the big shot guarantee for success a long, long time ago 😁 They just pump out these mindless, soulless projects and sit around praying for a massive influx of cash at the box office 😁
I guess we’ll just have to wait until the 6th to see if this movie actually turns out to be anything more than a total dud 😁

Rotten Tomatoes has it sitting at a 12%. 🤣

I guess this might end up being the biggest Will Smith flop yet.

I don't usually go into a movie with preconceived notions, but I'll be
seriously surprised if this isn't a total disaster.

I don't have much of an argument here—though the trailer hints at where things are heading, and trailers can be misleading either way—it’s just a gut feeling that after Earth won't be worth the time.
Still, if I managed to sit through Skyline, I can handle this. I'm expecting a mess somewhere in the realm of Prometheus, just hopefully less hollow and pretentious.

By the way, I've never been a fan of nepotism—not in any industry, really—but that's the least of my concerns with this one. Will is a decent guy, sure, but I honestly can't take him seriously in any role; he just doesn't have that presence.

It feels like they really missed the mark with this one. It seems like Em has released a few similar projects lately (for instance, something very close to Oblivion), and I guess Will Smith is a bit of an overexposed actor who might be getting a little tiring. Plus, I get the impression it's aimed at kids because of his son and the push for a franchise. The trailer felt pretty repetitive, like we've seen it all before.
