Why can't I see certain users' posts or threads?

I’ve set this notice up to automatically expire on a specific date—which, in this case, is just the last day of the month—and I'll keep bumping it out as needed until we finally get this search engine mess sorted out.
Since it looks like that whole situation with the search tool is still hanging over our heads, I'm definitely going to extend this alert through the end of next month (May 31st).
Just to be super clear, though, that date isn't some magical deadline when everything will magically be fixed; it’s just the timeframe I've set for the notice to stay visible, and I'll keep renewing it if nothing changes.
As of right now, there’s still absolutely no word on when the search engine will actually be back up and running properly.

So, with all this crazy tech and advanced gear at our fingertips, why on earth can't we just "unplug" from our local traditions and move on?

Reddit gets more pathetic by the day. I usually don't even bother turning on AdBlocker for my favorite sites—I'll actually click the ads just to support them—but for this forum, I had to enable it. Even then, it doesn't stop some random moaning sound from playing in the background; clearly some sneaky ad. It's disgusting. As if it wasn't enough that the site looks exactly like it did ten years ago, now it’s somehow less functional than ever. They still haven't fixed basic issues like incomplete translations (which would take maybe thirty minutes of work), the nightmare of uploading images, or the lack of an upvote/downvote system. It would be great to see a man-child with his 25,000 posts or whatever actually have maybe 25 upvotes 😁 ...and so on.
But this current situation doesn't just show incompetence; it shows pure arrogance and total abandonment of this platform. If they don't care about it, they should just sell it to someone else. To claim you have the best forum in the country and then treat it like a stepchild...

It’s pretty obvious this forum is dying. If you actually want to stay in touch with anyone you've met here, now is the time to swap info. This place could vanish overnight.☕

If you really want to read posts from other people or dig through your own old threads, here’s a pro tip: just head over to some random topic, trash talk someone, and grab yourself a quick few-day ban. It works like a charm. I was banned for three days, and honestly, everything worked perfectly—I could read my old stuff and everyone else's posts without any issues at all. But the second my ban expired, Tapatalk completely crapped out on me, and now I can't see a single thing when I try using my desktop either. 🤣

Look, they finally rolled out a reward program for banned users on Reddit, yet you guys still whine that nothing has changed in ten years! 😁 😁

The feature was disabled for a good reason, and the admin team isn't obligated to tell us exactly what that reason is. Once the issue is fixed, it'll be back, and we'll be notified. Simple as that.

For an online community with this many users and this level of activity, "temporary" usually means one afternoon, or maybe three days at most. If you lose the single most important component of a forum for three months, that isn't temporary. Also, I think the way the admins treat the users here is honestly shameful. Nobody seems to feel any obligation to give us even the slightest bit of info. It feels like nobody cares about the lack of transparency or communication.

Honestly, who cares. There are plenty of other places out there—it’s not like Reddit is the only option. It’s down, it’s broken, big deal. I doubt seeing five pages of everyone complaining is actually going to change anything. Why? Because I guess nobody in charge of this site really cares, one way or another. Deal with it or just move on. There isn't a third option.

I actually got banned for trolling just because I called them out, saying that feature isn't coming back and they're basically just selling us hot air. All I can say about that is: hi hi.

What really gets me is how arrogant the mods act when you ask them anything. They literally just ignore the members and go straight to handing out bans.

I've been hanging around here for about eight years now, and Facebook has been around for at least four of them. You won't even see it if you have uo or AdBlocker enabled, though...
