12. You have to post your predictions using the exact username you used to sign up. If an admin changes it, fine, but that’s it. If you get banned, you're out—no new bets allowed. Your old ones still count just like everyone else's, and yeah, you still lose a joker for that round. One exception: if you're banned, you can still respond to a bet by reporting a post from your banned account. A moderator will then pass your response along to the thread. Either way, you're losing that joker whether you reply or not.

13. We go by whatever the FIA puts out immediately after the race—either what you see on the TV broadcast or the first unofficial, uncorrected results on the official website. Once those are out, we aren't looking at any later corrections from the FIA. Same goes for DNFs; we look at those initial FIA results to see who officially dropped out. Per FIA rules, a driver is considered to have retired if they complete less than 90% of the race distance. The total number of laps is whatever the FIA decides via their standard or emergency rulings.

14. If the FIA or a team makes a call after you've placed your bet that helps or hurts you, you can't change your bet just because of that. Likewise, if an FIA decision screws over your opponent after you've picked your top 5 favorites, you can't change your picks then either. If you already know about an FIA or team decision before you place your bet, you better factor that in. This includes drivers who have been officially announced as not racing; don't bet on them. If you do, there will be sanctions, which basically means handing the win and max points to your opponent.

The guy who finishes dead last in the F1 Super League loses 5 spots in next year's priority list for every competition he placed in this season. The guy in second-to-last place loses 3 spots, but only applied to his best ranking in other competitions.

16. These rules kick in once they're posted in the Super League thread. They can be updated through special amendments only if it becomes obvious that changes are needed to keep things running smoothly.
If some weird situation pops up that isn't covered in these rules, the Manager makes the call. If the moderators think the Manager's decision is bad, they can overturn it by majority vote.

1. The Reddit F1 Super League is an invite-only competition featuring the top eight performers from last season's various forum racing series. If someone can't make the cut, the next person in line based on last year's standings steps in as a reserve. Next year's qualifying spots are detailed in rulebook section 15. Official results and rankings are posted by the league director in this thread, and the moderator will pin them to the first page for easy access while everyone else posts their picks and plays the Super League here.

2. We run this thing by having competitors face off head-to-head in triple round-robin duels, following a predetermined schedule drawn at random. During the first and second rounds of the Super League, everyone sets their own offers. In the third round, things get more organized—offers are set based on merit according to the standings at the end of round two, meaning the leaders get an easier path through the final stretch.

3. Here’s how the system works:
The person setting the offer has until midnight on Tuesday of the race week to submit five pairs of matchups. There are no restrictions on which pairs you pick, but you don't actually pick the drivers. Instead, your opponent does that by bolding their five favorites—basically marking them with a 1 or a 2 to indicate who they think will finish higher in the pair. This has to be done no later than 10 minutes before Saturday's qualifying starts. Any drivers they don't mark automatically become the favorites for the person receiving the offer.

4. Once the race is over, players earn these bonus points:
Winning a duel where no drivers DNF – 3 points
Winning a duel where the loser DNFs – 2 points
Winning a duel where the loser fails to start – 1 point
A draw where both drivers DNF or fail to start – 1 point each

5. After totaling those bonus points for each pairing, we hand out the main points:
Winning against an opponent's offer - 3 points
Winning your own offer - 2 points
A draw – 1 point each

6. To figure out the final League standings, we use these tiebreakers:
a) Whoever has more main points wins.
b) If tied there, the person with the better bonus point differential wins.
c) Still tied? The person with more main points from their head-to-head matchups wins.
d) If it's still a wash, look at the bonus point differential from those head-to-head matches.
e) If we're still stuck, the person with the most total wins takes it.
f) Tied again? More individual pair wins breaks the tie.
g) Last resort: whoever has more total bonus points wins.

7. You can actually send your offer as soon as the previous race wraps up. The official deadline is Tuesday at midnight before the race week, but honestly, we aren't strict about it—if you post at 12:01 AM on Wednesday, it still counts. However, if you miss the deadline entirely, your last submitted offer from the League stays active, and your opponent gets to respond to that. If they don't respond to the old one and a new one pops up in the meantime, they have to answer the new one. If someone misses the window in the first two rounds when there isn't an old offer yet, or if they're so late their opponent can't respond, the opponent gets the max payout: 3 main points and 15 bonus points. Also, if the responder is logged in or posting on Reddit between the late offer and qualifying but ignores it, the offer-setter gets the max points—provided the offer was posted at least an hour before the response deadline.

8. If a competitor fails to submit a new entry or response for three consecutive races, they’ll be automatically disqualified from the rest of the competition, provided there's a reserve competitor available to step into the super league. If a reserve steps in, they take over the remaining schedule left by the disqualified person, but they don't get to inherit any of those points.

9. If someone misses the deadline for a response or just doesn't reply to an offer, their opponent gets the maximum haul: 2 main points and 15 secondary points.
If a participant sends a fake response during the third round—or any other way that looks like they're clearly trying to rig things for someone else—both they and the beneficiary will face penalties. These will be decided by the tournament directors and the Reddit F1 moderators through a majority vote.

10. Once an entry or response is sent, it’s final. No deleting, no editing, no "oops, let me fix that." Breaking this rule means handing your opponent the maximum points. If you submit an incomplete entry with fewer than five pairs, you can add to it until your opponent responds; if you don't, your opponent gets the max secondary points for the missing slots. If you send more than five pairs, we only care about the first five—no corrections allowed after that.

11. Competitors can agree to swap home status for any reason during the first round. If they do, the order swaps automatically in the second round so everyone gets a turn hosting. After the second round, the home/away setup is locked in. Also, you can't mess with the pairing schedule once the tournament starts.

This thread is where you submit your picks and responses to play the Super League.
A valid entry counts as sending your initial offer. Once your opponent's deadline passes, you have the right to respond to their pick immediately. However, as a one-time exception, when a competitor submits their very first offer of the season, they are allowed one single edit to that specific opening pick, provided it’s done before the deadline.

2. The competition works by having contestants face off in head-to-head duels three times per season, following a pre-set schedule drawn at random. During the first and second rounds of the Super League, everyone plays everyone else. In the third round, however, the matchups are seeded based on merit—meaning the standings at the end of round two determine the pairings, giving higher-ranked players an easier path through the finals.

g) Finally, if all else fails, whoever has more secondary points takes the spot.

7. You can actually get your offer in as soon as the previous race ends. The official deadline is Tuesday at midnight before the upcoming race week. Honestly, there aren't any real penalties for being late; if you send your pick at 12:01 AM on Wednesday, we'll still take it. However, if you miss the window entirely, your most recent valid offer from the League stands, and your opponent can choose to respond to that.
If a responder misses an old offer and a new one lands in the meantime, they have to answer the new one.
If the responder replies to the old offer before a new one arrives, the person making the offer loses a joker.
If a competitor fails to send a response, their opponent gets the maximum possible points—that’s 2 main points and 15 secondary ones—and the responder loses a joker.
In the event of a dispute where responses to both the old and new offers are sent at basically the same time (within a +/- 5-minute window), the bidder still loses a joker. The response to the old offer counts as valid, and the new offer is treated as a fresh start for the next round; you can't go back and change it.

8. Each competitor gets 3 "jokers" per season. If there's no new offer, the old one stands by default, costing the player one joker. You also lose a joker for every missed response.
Once a competitor burns through all their jokers, they’re automatically disqualified from the super league for both the current and following seasons upon the next missed response. Their spot goes to the first reserve on the list starting the very next race.

In this case, the responder is required to answer the first offer sent by that reserve, which was provided during the initial registration, within that same round.
When a reserve competitor steps in, they take over the remaining match schedule of the disqualified player, but they don't get any of those points already earned.

9. If a competitor fails to send a response in the third round, or sends an invalid one, and there's reasonable suspicion they did it just to help someone else climb the standings, penalties will be handed out. Both the offender and the person who benefited will be punished. The penalty is decided by the manager and the Reddit F1 moderators via a majority vote.

10. Once offers and responses are sent, they're final. No deleting, no editing, no sending new ones. Breaking this rule means handing the opponent max points and losing a joker. If a competitor submits an incomplete offer with fewer than five pairs, they can supplement it until the opponent responds. If they don't, the opponent gets the maximum secondary points for the missing pairs. If they submit more than five pairs, only the first five count, and no corrections are allowed.

11. If everyone agrees, competitors can swap home/away status for any reason during the first round. If they do this, the status will automatically swap again in the second round so that each competitor hosts once. In rounds two and three, swapping home/away status is off the table. Also, you absolutely cannot change the match pairings drawn before the competition starts.
