I feel like the biggest drama right now is all this noise about how we fill the spots in the super league.. we really ought to shake things up for this season.. maybe go with a betting house style or have the team champion take on the weaker side...

First off, are you actually signing up or what?
I don't really feel like digging through the rulebook, but I'm pretty sure registration order matters too. 😬

As for the lineup selection process, that's almost certainly going to have to change.
If you've got an idea, lay it on me.🤷

So you're saying even the reserves have to make a call?

Well, here’s my quick take: if the constructors' championship standings aren't factored into this (individual) competition, I'm definitely sitting this one out.

Either you're signing up or you're not. ☕

Ultimatums don't work on me, and I have zero intention of changing the rules just because someone wants to throw an ultimatum my way. 🤣

If you've got a smarter list to propose, lay it out. If the majority actually agrees with it, there's a good chance we'll change things.

It's not like team results should even matter here, but let's start by having a better list on the table before we move forward.

What kind of freaking ultimatum are we even talking about? Honestly, nobody cares whether I decide to play (myself included), so I fail to see what purpose an ultimatum could possibly serve. 🤷

I tried to be perfectly clear, but let me try one more time: if the 2013 entry list—which, mind you, has been set for a year now—gets adjusted so that team championship results are no longer factored in, then I can be on that list. If not, I have no interest in being there. If people still insist on framing this as an ultimatum, then fine, leave me off the list and let’s just call it a day. 👍

Just so we're clear, the first offer needs to be submitted by midnight on March 13, 2012 at the latest.

That means we need everyone signed up at least about 7 days ahead of time so we can actually set the schedule and figure out who's making the offers.

Because of that, I'm moving the registration deadline up to March 5, 2012.
I've already sent a PM to everyone eligible who hasn't signed up yet.

I don't want any whining later about someone jumping onto the list as a reserve ahead of you when you actually had the right to join based on last year's results.

Also, we should probably settle on the filling order for 2013 now, since we really need to get this done before the season kicks off.

So, here’s my proposed list:
15. Order of filling the F1 super league next year:
1. F1 super league champion
2. F1 championship winner
3. Winner of F1 tournament 1
4. Winner of F1 tournament 2
5. Winner of the precision trophy - overall
6. F1 championship runner-up
7. F1 super league runner-up
8. Third place in the F1 championship
9. Finalist of F1 tournament 1
10. Finalist of F1 tournament 2
11. Winner of the precision trophy - championship
12. Third place in the F1 super league
13. Third place in F1 tournament 1
14. Third place in F1 tournament 2
15. Winner of the precision trophy - tournament
16. Fourth place in the F1 championship
17. Fourth place in F1 tournament 1
18. Fourth place in F1 tournament 2
19. Runner-up of the precision trophy - overall
20. Fifth place in the F1 championship
21. F1 championship team champion (better)
22. Fifth place in F1 tournament 1
23. Fifth place in F1 tournament 2
24. F1 championship team runner-up (better)
25. Third place in the precision trophy - overall
26. Sixth place in the F1 championship

We also need to fix point 12.
Like this:

A. Banned users have no right to compete
B. A competitor can only post their predictions using the specific username they used to register, unless an admin changes it. A banned competitor still has the right to play; they just have to send their offer/response via a post from the account that was banned, and then the moderator will relay it to the super league thread.

The way we're doing things now is definitely not working. Honestly, I have no clue who even has access to that email anymore.🤷

8. finalist from the 1st F1 tournament
9. finalist from the 2nd F1 tournament
10. third place finisher in the F1 championship

A banned competitor still keeps their right to play, basically by submitting an offer or response via a post from the account that got banned, which the moderator will then pass along to the super league thread.

I don't really get this part 😕

And while we're talking about the schedule, I'd make a minor adjustment there too 😳
Once we finish round 14, I'd split the league into two separate groups 🙂 (the championship league and the relegation league). That way, everyone gets to play two more matches within their specific group. The person at the bottom would be kicked out of the league unless they happened to win one of the championships—if they did, then the drop-out spot goes to the next worst-placed person who hasn't won anything.

To be blunt, this current format with the crappy triple round-robin system just doesn't sit right with me, and I definitely don't think it's the fairest way to do things 🙂

I don't get what you meant about fixing the list.🤷

If you're asking why the finalists are listed after third place, it's simple.
Since I can't cram everyone into the top 8, two of them had to go.
I didn't have a genius way to decide who goes ahead of whom, so I just cut both.😳

Messing with big versus small groups feels silly to me because people will just exploit it—like someone dropping out of two races right before the end could screw over the smaller group.
My other idea was to pull the trophy winner, but that’s just dumb. I'm not stripping a winner just to make room for finalists on a list.🤷

Besides, being in the top three for the full season (with all those players) feels harder than just taking second in a tournament where there are only two rounds and fewer people involved.🤷

Look, even if you're banned, you can still report a post. Just put the matchups, the offer, or the answer in the report, and I'll move it to the thread myself.
And those reports go to all the mods on this sub, so if I'm not around, someone else will grab it.

We used this exact setup last year for the tournament and the league. If I remember right, we even did some predictions using this system.

I'm not really down for radical system changes right before the start.
Honestly, I don't have anything against the idea, but I'm not jumping on board either.🤷

Because people couldn't care less about anything until some massive "situation" hits them. Then, suddenly, everyone remembers they wish the rules had been changed before the season even started.😍

And this season, we’re clearly being extra lazy since we can't even get the registrations in on time.😢

Wait, so you're telling me the guys in spots 1 through 4 are playing in both the championship league and the relegation league at the same time? 😬

Also, where did you stash the breakdown of who's playing who? I mean the numbers. I had a solid list saved somewhere, but now I can't find it for the life of me. 😢

And there's one thing that's bugging me a little. 😳
I have no clue what we're going to do if we hit 19 rounds.

I've got a bad feeling that Bahrain is probably going to flake out on us at the very last second again.

So, honestly? Just total nonsense. Absolute garbage.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this whole situation, but let me tell you, if you think the current state of things is bad, just wait until you see how much more chaotic it’s going to get once everyone realizes how broken the system actually is. It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck on a Friday afternoon in Chicago, except nobody is even trying to hit the brakes. You've got people acting like everything is totally fine while the entire foundation is basically crumbling right under our feet, and honestly, the sheer level of delusion required to ignore it is almost impressive if it wasn't so incredibly frustrating. It's just one thing after another, a constant stream of nonsense that somehow gets passed off as standard procedure, and I'm sitting here wondering when we're all going to collectively decide that enough is enough.

And honestly, once everyone who actually wants to play signs up, I’ll just drop a full list of names right here. 😉

Man, I have absolutely no clue where I stashed that breakdown of who’s playing against whom—you know, the one with all the specific numbers and stats? I swear I had everything organized perfectly somewhere, like a master file or something, but now? Total blackout. I’ve got zero clue where I put it.😢

Man, I was just looking at that Berger table again and honestly, it’s kind of a mess, isn't it? Just staring at those numbers makes me want to throw my phone across the room. It's like someone tried to organize chaos and then just gave up halfway through. Seriously, how are we supposed to make sense of any of this when the data looks like it was scribbled on a napkin during a coffee break? It’s absolute madness.😉

And honestly, there’s just one more thing that’s been eating at me lately, if I'm being totally real with you guys.😳
I honestly have zero clue what we’re even going to do if we end up hitting 19 rounds. Like, seriously, where does that leave us? I haven't even wrapped my head around the current mess, let alone some hypothetical marathon scenario.

I’ve got this nagging feeling that Bahrain is probably gonna flake on us at the absolute last second again.
No way, I seriously can't believe he’d actually get canned—like, why on earth would you think that's even happening?🤷
