If I say that... I'm not down for changing the system. Even a blind man could see I’m not about messing with the current system we're playing by.☕

Look, if I said I didn't have an opinion either way, I'd be telling the truth. Ideas? It’s not that I hate the idea or that I actually like it—I just don't give a damn either way. I'm completely indifferent.
Besides that, all of this was written before you even dropped your final proposal.

Still going. I'm not down for this. Changes to that rule.☕

Joshua Newman2 said:What kind of freaking ultimatum are we even talking about? Honestly, nobody cares whether I decide to play (myself included), so I fail to see what purpose an ultimatum could possibly serve. 🤷

I tried to be perfectly clear, but let me try one more time: if the 2013 entry list—which, mind you, has been set for a year now—gets adjusted so that team championship results are no longer factored in, then I can be on that list. If not, I have no interest in being there. If people still insist on framing this as an ultimatum, then fine, leave me off the list and let’s just call it a day. 👍

Just wanted to update this thread with my current headspace: I have no intention of playing in the super league this season.

(Though I still maintain that for the sake of the competition's integrity and the benefit of the team champions, those results really ought to be stripped from the entry list. 👍 ☕)

Good luck to everyone planning to play, especially cosmicridge5 and Christian Williams61, since they're easily the most popular members in the league. 😍

darkmarlin16 said:Honestly, I’d tweak the rankings a bit 🙂

8. finalist from the 1st F1 tournament
9. finalist from the 2nd F1 tournament
10. third place finisher in the F1 championship

A banned competitor still keeps their right to play, basically by submitting an offer or response via a post from the account that got banned, which the moderator will then pass along to the super league thread.

I don't really get this part 😕

And while we're talking about the schedule, I'd make a minor adjustment there too 😳
Once we finish round 14, I'd split the league into two separate groups 🙂 (the championship league and the relegation league). That way, everyone gets to play two more matches within their specific group. The person at the bottom would be kicked out of the league unless they happened to win one of the championships—if they did, then the drop-out spot goes to the next worst-placed person who hasn't won anything.

To be blunt, this current format with the crappy triple round-robin system just doesn't sit right with me, and I definitely don't think it's the fairest way to do things 🙂

darkmarlin16 said:Since I clearly have nothing better to do with my life 😁 I went ahead and whipped up a schedule based on my own ideas

Fine, I'm on my way. 😍

What am I supposed to do when your proposal is just plain stupid? It makes zero sense to overhaul a competition format that’s been working perfectly fine for ages.
If we're going to change things, let's fix the actual problems, not mess with stuff that isn't broken. 🤷

Plus, with your system, everyone sitting in 5th through 8th place gets totally screwed. Meanwhile, the guys at the top get a massive advantage they haven't even earned.
Under your rules, last year's runner-up would've finished 4th, even though his actual results only deserved him 7th.
Joshua Newman2, who actually made the podium, would have dropped to 5th.

And all this happens at the end of the season in a total mess where the runner-up would end up with more points than Jessica Ramos12, yet still sit in 4th. 🙄

So, your "perfect" standings would look like this:
1. - 29 points
2. - 28 points
3. - 25 points
4. - 20 points
5. - 25 points
6. - 24 points
7. - 22 points
8. - 16 points

It's an absolute joke—a nonsensical system that makes no sense whatsoever.
I'm not seeing the logic here at all. ☕

I’m of the same mind—the super league should be left exactly as it stands. To be honest, I am eagerly anticipating winning at least one tournament this year, so that next season I can sweep this entire competition too. He man! 🙏 👍

Personally, I don't think this three-round system is OK at all—actually, scratch that, it's even worse than that; it's a total joke and it's just NOT FAIR.☕

Besides, with that system of yours, everyone sitting in those 5th through 8th spots gets screwed over, and it's pretty nasty.

I honestly don't see how they're getting shortchanged; if they had actually earned it through their gameplay and results, they'd be up there in the top 4.

And the rest of the leaders have this massive advantage they haven't done a single thing to earn.

Yeah, they haven't earned it by 🤣 🤦
which basically means their wins and those extra points they racked up are totally unearned.🤦

See, if we used your system last year, Appalachia would've finished the season in 4th place, even though his actual performance only deserved him 7th.
Joshua Newman2, who actually made the podium, would've dropped down to 5th.

I don't give a damn about that nonsense😉

Kill it if you want, but it makes absolutely no sense to me.☕

It makes plenty of sense, actually, because the best player should be the one who goes up against the best players.😉

"Basically nothing"☕

There's your real-world example right there.
Reddit F1 league 2011 - Round 14 3-6 win-loss ratio ☕
Reddit F1 league 2010 - Round 14 4-7 win-loss ratio ☕

How exactly did the guys in 4th place over the last two seasons earn such a massive advantage over the people below them who have the same points or just one or two less?

All it takes is one guy missing a first offer in the first half, and boom—you're in the top four (don't even get me started on what happens if there's a tie), and then you can lose all 6 remaining rounds and still finish 4th.

Meanwhile, 5th, 6th, 7th, even 8th could have the exact same number of wins as you, but by Round 14, they have a worse tiebreaker because you, being that "famous" 4th place holder, had one race go 15-0, which is a massive advantage in this system.
So even if any of them win all their next 6 rounds, and you fail all 6, you still finish ahead of them even if you have 15 fewer main points.🙄

Honestly, it's a broken system.☕
Maybe it wouldn't be if we overhauled the entire scoring structure, but if we're sticking with what we have, then your system is easily the worst ever.
I seriously can't imagine a more messed up setup than yours.

There is absolutely no way a three-round system can ever be considered fair or even remotely decent. And don't even get me started on a broken three-round system, because that's just straight-up garbage.

It’s way more unfair to let big-name teams play in the super league just because they have the brand, even if they suck at everything, while actual tournament finalists—the guys who actually earned their spots on the podium—get left out.☕

But hey, why not just rant about something totally irrelevant and claim one system is "maybe" unfair? Let's just pivot and introduce a system that is guaranteed, without a shadow of a doubt, to be completely rigged. 🙄

I don't recall ever saying anything to the contrary☕

Oh sure, let's just ramble on about something totally irrelevant just because one system is "maybe" unfair, so why don't we just implement a system that is absolutely, undeniably, and without a shadow of a doubt completely rigged🙄

I don't get why you're using quotation marks there?😕

Not every competitor gets to face everyone else an equal number of times.

Some competitors end up playing against another team twice—once at home and once away—while others only get one shot at being the host and one shot as the visitor.

The whole system is fundamentally flawed because the matchups against all opponents aren't distributed evenly.☕

What are you even talking about, 😕
Everyone makes one offer and responds to one offer against every other player.☕
That covers the first 14 rounds—exactly one response and one offer per matchup.😳
After that, it’s based on "merit," but whatever, everyone still has a shot at winning the super league.☕

In your system, they don't.👎
And how exactly does everyone play everyone the same amount of times in your version?🤣

Look, in my system, the truly elite players actually rise to the top because they get to face off against the top half of the pack two extra times.
Plus, the home and away game ratio is spread out perfectly evenly (if you want to call them that).

There aren't really any "best" or "worst" here.🙄
The super league consists of the top 8 players.☕

Looking at how things have gone through the first 14 rounds, you've got one underdog and one standout who usually ends up taking the title.☕
As for everyone else from 2nd to 7th, they're all basically within two points of each other—sometimes even less, where everyone just sits on the exact same score. 😳

And look, you can't just claim you're way better than the rest based on a tiny 2 or 3 point lead and argue they don't deserve to play in the semi-finals. If you're at the top, you're guaranteed at least 4th place regardless.🙄

Besides, here's the deal:
image

It’s not a perfect system—far from it—but it’s definitely fairer.
Plus, the biggest thing is that if the first race gets canceled in this format, it isn't a disaster, whereas your system literally falls apart into pieces.

If the Bahrain race gets called off in your setup, everything just goes completely south.

Fix up the table borders ☕

And make sure the matchup pairings follow Berger's table 😉

Round
1 1:8 2:7 3:6 4:5
2 8:5 6:4 7:3 1:2
3 2:8 3:1 4:7 5:6
4 8:6 7:5 1:4 2:3
5 3:8 4:2 5:1 6:7
6 8:7 1:6 2:5 3:4
7 4:8 5:3 6:2 7:1

That’s all the smart stuff you’ve got to say 🤦

Besides, this is Formula 1 ☕
The super league is supposed to feel like F1—just like that one kid keeps blaring about—so what exactly is your table mimicking? 🤷 Is it the NBA league or just some random kid's idea?
