Let's move away from the thread about Fernando Alonso and just keep things going right here...

It’s definitely not Vettel's style to complain or act like his teammates are driving him crazy...

So, just tell meβ€”which one of those three wins did Richard have a technical issue during? Come on, let's see it!

Look, his Technical performance just wasn't on the same level as Richard's, plain and simple. He just didn't have that same smooth touch when he was hitting the apexes in the corners.

Technically speaking, one individual holds four championship titles, and it certainly isn't darkmarlin16. πŸ™‚

Actually, darkmarlin16 has one driver title and three constructors' titles under his belt, which adds up to four, if you're doing the math.

The real question is which one of those three wins wasn't just handed to him on a silver platter...

Man, whenever I think about the Canadian GP, I can't help but laugh. There isn't a single race in history where someone pulled off a win as shady as Ricciardo's. It just doesn't exist. 🀦
Sebastian Vettel spent the whole weekend basically slapping him around, and then the FIA, with all their nonsense, hands him the victory in the most ridiculous way possible. 🀦
Hitting the pits in 6th and coming out in 1st after the SC? That's a once-in-a-lifetime fluke right there. πŸ™ 🀣

neonfox65 said:Tell me which one of those three wins by Richard had a Technical issue for Vettel? Let's see it!

Nothing was ideal... you know... The car was weak, undrivable, just nothing... Exactly what he was warning about back in February 2014...

darkmarlin16 said:Technically, his performance was worse than Richard's. He didn't have that same precision through the corners.

He had the skill, he just didn't have the pace...

neonfox65 said:Shut up.

Look at that, darkmarlin16, how we shut them down.πŸ˜‰

Look, I actually work. I can't just sit around after school like you and type out nonsense...

coastalwolf6 said:Technically speaking, someone has four championship titles under their belt, and that definitely isn't darkmarlin16. πŸ™‚

There will be more of them... Unlike Alonso, who always seems to be playing it safe...😁

neonfox65 said:What does that even have to do with the question that nobody has actually answered? πŸ‘‹

You got your answer once we finally found the time and energy to dig through this thread, which you've cluttered up so much it's practically unreadable... A total Funboy for Alonso...🀣

stormybadger8 said:The real question is which one of those three wins was basically handed to him on a silver platter...

Man, just thinking about the Canadian GP makes me want to laugh. I don't think there's a single race in history where someone won in a more hollow way than Ricco. It just doesn't exist.
Sebastian Vettel absolutely dominated him all weekend, and then the FIA, with all their usual nonsense, hands him the win in the most blatant way imaginable. 🀦
Going into the pits in 6th and coming out in 1st after the SCβ€”that's a once-in-a-lifetime scenario right there.

Don't go that far. It's only because he's better at handling cornering than Vettel...🀣

Look, I get that you might stumble into one win by pure luckβ€”but three? πŸ™‚

The bottom line is that Ricciardo beat Vettel in all three of those races. He outclassed him the entire season, tooβ€”and honestly, no amount of excuses can change that πŸ‘‹ Vettel just got outplayed by someone better, and yeah, Vettel's reputation took a hit πŸ‘‹

So, what's with this whole Vettel complex you've got going on?
I mean, if you look at how many years Alonso has been grinding in F1 compared to Vettelβ€”it’s way more. And yet, he’s sitting there with two fewer titles.

Just look at how many years Alonso has been in F1 compared to Vettelβ€”he’s been around much longer, yet he actually has two fewer titles under his belt.

Honestly, I’d argue Alonso's two titles carry more weight than four of Vettel'sβ€”mostly because Alonso had to fight against Schumacher in what was essentially a subpar carβ€”well, maybe not a total junker, but certainly nothing close to the level of the Ferrari.πŸ‘‹

Honestly, whenever I find myself thinking back to the Canadian GP, I can't help but chuckle; is there truly any race in history where someone secured a win in a more muted, almost hollow fashion than Ricciardo? It simply doesn't exist.🀦
Good grief, Sebastian Vettel spent the entire weekend being absolutely tormented by circumstances, only for the FIA to step in with their usual nonsense and hand over the victory in the most lackluster manner imaginable.🀦
To pit like you're in sixth place and somehow emerge as the leader once the Safety Car pulls inβ€”well, that is a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, isn't it?πŸ™ 🀣

Ricciardo's wins were really just the result of a very specific, very fortunate alignment of stars. Take the Belgian GP, for instance; Vettel was struggling with Technical issues with his car all through Friday, which forced him to adopt Ricciardo's setup for the race. One mustn't forget that Vettel was actually faster during qualifying for that race. Had Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg not collided on the second lap, there is hardly any chance that the Australian would have seen that win.
Then there was the Canadian GP, where Vettel was again superior in qualifying, yet he suffered the misfortune of driving within the top three while his teammate was already trailing by ten seconds, right before the Safety Car appeared to disrupt the top five and gift the top spot to Ricciardo. And one shouldn't even need to mention what winning in Canada signifies in terms of prestige; it’s practically the Monaco of races.
As for the Canadian GP, Vettel was once again the better driver in both qualifying and the race itself, until he pitted and emerged behind Hulkenberg. A car powered by a Mercedes engine is simply too much of a gamble against those running Renault engines. Consequently, Vettel lost precious time, only for Red Bull Racing to call him in again, leaving him stuck in traffic, while Ricciardo utilized a far superior strategy to jump ahead of Vettel. He then spent about twenty laps trailing Sergio Perez. However, at a critical juncture, the Mexican had to perform a software reset on his system, an opening that the Australian exploited perfectly. While Ricciardo drove those races brilliantly, everything just happened to fall into place for him. For Vettel, almost nothing went his way in those particular races.

Obviously he wasn't. But you have to defend the legend. It's hilarious how Alonso fans love to lecture everyone else about being delusional while becoming the most delusional people on the grid themselves....

Classic syndrome.

Vettel even let Bottas get ahead of him in a Williams that finished right behind the Red Bull at the end. Man, I'd love to see them bring Bottas over to Ferrari...😁

Those two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other. 🀦

I don't recall seeing anyone calling Vettel's 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, or 2nd place finishes in 2014 "Masterful" or worshiping them like some kind of miracle. 🀣

The reality is the car just didn't suit Vettel. It was clearly a step down from the Red Bull, and he was obviously desperate to leave.
The team knew exactly what was happening and they didn't give a damn about him. By the start of the season, they already made it clear who their real priority was.
Just look at the races where they ordered him to let Ricciardo ahead right at the beginning of the season... which isn't exactly normal, especially in races where they were busy screwing him over with mechanical failures and stupid pit wall decisions.

But it's also a fact that by the end of the season, once you crunch the numbers, his results were noticeably worse than Ricciardo's. There's no arguing with that.
Sure, maybe some people will hunt for excuses, but I haven't seen the same level of "wisdom" used when it comes to Alonso and the teammates he clearly outclassed. People still push the narrative today that he was somehow "Masterful" and way better than those guys. 😍
