Henry Hernandez7 said:Is it actually possible that there’s zero footage of the actual crash? I'm searching everywhere, and it's just... nothing...

There’s bound to be onboard footage from his car, but the real question is what happens to those files...

They aren't gonna let her back out in the open just yet, at least not until they're sure she's actually doing okay and the investigation wraps up. Honestly, the real question is whether they’ll even bother letting her go public once all that's done.

Could the folks watching at home actually see it on the TV broadcast?

It is absolutely unbelievable that someone managed to puncture the rear right tire on the excavator!
A complete disaster, all things considered.

I was watching the Sky Sports stream myself, and honestly, I didn't catch a thing. It's even weirder because the commentators seemed completely oblivious—they acted like there were only one car out there, just focusing on Sutil.
They were even scratching their heads wondering why the ambulance was being called while Sutil was just walking away.

Henry Hernandez7 said:But wait, were the viewers even able to see it on the TV broadcast?

No, they didn't show a single thing—and honestly, that’s the first major red flag right there.

I'm watching right now, and the folks over at BBC haven't even realized a crash happened. They've spent the whole time acting like Sutil is the one needing medical attention. It's only now that the race is over that they've noticed Bianchi is missing. They just got word—about 15 minutes after the checkered flag—that he's in the medical center, but they still don't know anything else. In the live broadcast, it was like the collision never even occurred. Even looking at the podium ceremony now, there's still zero info.

Judging by those gloomy expressions on the podium during the first, second, and third place celebrations—and the glaring lack of a champagne shower—it was pretty obvious from the jump that something felt off. I was tuned into ESPN Radio 5, and they jumped straight into the news bulletins right after the race ended. The broadcast was on CBS, but I couldn't quite bring myself to listen to the Germans, so I'm really not sure if they were actually the ones being interviewed...

Terry Carter2 said:Honestly, looking at that wreckage, it looks more like a neck injury than anything else!

Yeah, I’m thinking the same thing given how wrecked that car ended up.
The real question is what happened to his neck, but they probably have bigger fish to fry right now.

I am not joking here; I find the wording quite unclear.
ruggedhawk20 said:Head injuries are serious business. You can fall off a bike and die. Or you can slam a motorcycle into a truck and walk away. I personally know people who have experienced both.

Do you actually mean you knew the first person?

After those recent unfortunate incidents, I honestly find myself questioning if anyone would ever think it’s sensible to be out driving under those kinds of conditions. It makes you wonder: is it just all about the marketing hype and the bottom line, even when it comes at the cost of human life? 🙄

Every single driver on the grid mentioned that the race could have proceeded normally—most were running on intermediates anyway, so calling off the whole thing seems a bit excessive to me. At the end of the day, when you sign up to be an F1 driver, you’re essentially signing up for the inherent risks that come with the territory.

It feels pointless to even debate this at this stage, because if it had truly been impossible to drive solo, you would have seen drivers pulling over or slowing down significantly🤷

For some people, profit is definitely more important than a single life—or ten, or a hundred. It’s just numbers on a spreadsheet to them.

I get where you're coming from (even if the accident report cleared everything up), but honestly, if there's a backhoe, a spider, or whatever else needs to be on the track, there's no way they can work without an SC. It’s easy to play the smart guy after the fact, but I really hope they make this a formal rule starting next race because of what happened here.

Exactly! The throttle is still under the driver's foot. Nobody else gets to press it but him.

A prost guy parked his car in Adelaide back in '89. Stepped out, took his licks, and moved on. He's alive today.

Drivers should be smart enough to know their own limits—and the limits of the car.

And I'm not even talking about Bianchi here—this was a total failure by the organizers.

It wasn't because of rain, it was because of a tractor and a botched recovery procedure for Sutil's car. Rain or no rain—it doesn't matter.

Bianchi has nothing to do with this.

Henry Hernandez7 said:Everything there is still valid—even if the accident itself officially debunked those rumors—but honestly, whether it’s debris, a crane, or any other issue, there just isn't much point in having a slow zone without an actual SC. Sure, it's easy to play the expert after the fact, but I'm really hoping that because of what happened today, they make it a standard rule starting from the next race.

Man, what can I even say? Just look back at Silverstone when that barrier issue happened—the amount of whining on the forums was unreal. You had people calling real drivers "soft," saying you had to be a certain kind of man to race back in the day, or blaming the FIA for this and the FIA for that. Now, because a SC wasn't called today, everyone is suddenly an expert claiming it *should* have been deployed. If this accident hadn't occurred, nobody would even be talking about the SC or playing the "what if" game.

At the end of the day, it was definitely a lapse in judgment by the organizers. But let's keep some perspective: we haven't seen a fatality in twenty years, and let's all pray it stays that way. Sometimes, you just can't control every single variable.

By that logic, we should’ve banned Maldonad, Grosjean, and Perez ages ago.
It wasn't even about the weather in Spa—it was just plain old bad driving. Grosjean messed up so badly that if he’d been off by just a few inches, the consequences would have been massive regardless of the track conditions...

Just finished watching the race from start to finish. Honestly, the conditions seemed pretty manageable, and if you ask me, Bianchi's crash was just a freak accident. Nothing more, nothing less.
People were out there trying to pin things on Kimi, but he didn't really have much room to maneuver. Where things actually fell apart, the blame lies squarely with a botched pit stop at the box.
Rosberg wasn't having a bad run either... I have no idea why they didn't bring him in for fresh tires earlier. He might have actually walked away with the win if they had...
