408 Request Time-out Error

Personally, I find that stuff happens way less often when I'm using Firefox compared to Chrome

No, ever since I installed this damn stupid Chrome, it’s been constant. It was never like this on Firefox—literally never. The only issue there is that lately, it’s just getting slower and slower, regardless of how much I try to optimize everything.

Man, even for me, Firefox keeps acting up and throwing this error right in my face while I’m just trying to read something, like 🙂

I'm not entirely sure what the issue is, but browsing the forum on Chrome has become nearly impossible. I keep getting hit with a 408 Request Time-out almost every other click. 🤷Interestingly, though, if I just open an incognito window in Chrome and head to the site, everything loads perfectly on the first try.

Where is that window located?

If you look at the top right corner near the X, there are three little lines; if you click those, a menu should pop up where you can select "New incognito window." Or, I guess, you could just hit CTRL + SHIFT + N. The only real downside is that incognito won't save your login info.

I honestly tried my hardest to crawl through the digital wreckage of this site just so I could tear into the poor souls running these servers and maintenance, but of course, I got slapped with an Error 408 about ten different times... but hey, I finally made it through the gauntlet, so *******************

Haha, that’s a good one. Honestly, I was losing my mind over this yesterday. Maybe you could just move the whole thing to a different server so it runs smoother? It’s starting to get a little irritating, I guess. Although, I think I figured out a little trick—whenever that annoying 408 error pops up, I just hit Refresh a few times and it works. Though, it feels like I have to hit Refresh every single time I try to open a page.
I feel like the Refresh key is about to fly right out of my keyboard. I’ve already lost the Q key and the Insert key because of this!

The steakhouse was absolutely insane all evening.
Honestly, I’m feeling a bit let down now.

Is this forum stuck in 2004 or something? Does anyone actually have a screenshot of what a decent forum looked like back in 2014?

I just had to hop on here and give a quick shout-out to Michael Phillips8 for that incognito setup... I’ve been testing it out since yesterday, and honestly? Whether it's luck or pure genius, the thing actually works!

Yeah, I gave incognito mode a shot too. No 408 errors to be found. If it stays that way, fine by me.

Correction, I actually hit a 503 while in incognito mode 😬

I’m feeling the exact same way. Every single time I hit a 408 error, it honestly makes me want to throw my computer out the window. I wouldn't even bother showing up to this forum if it weren't for the fact that I still need to keep up with some of the important info being posted here...
