Even though it's stopped showing up for a bit, I'm dying to know—is this some weird ad or what?

This morning, it kept flashing up near the Reddit logo at the top, or right by the site links down below... just plain text, no clickable link or anything. 😕

I did change my email and password recently, and until I confirmed everything, my account was basically locked down and I couldn't do a damn thing.

It might just be some kind of glitch or whatever. If everything seems to be working fine now, then I guess it’s all good 🙂

It’s happening at least ten times a day now—I just can't stay logged into the forum. I'll be right in the middle of reading a thread, and then, boom, I'm kicked out and sent back to the login screen. It isn't my internet connection; everything else on my end is running perfectly fine. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Same thing happened to me. It just keeps spinning and spinning, refusing to load, then eventually it finally kicks in after a while.

I reboot my laptop, and everything runs fine for about an hour before it starts freezing up again. Then I have to go through the whole process all over again. 🤣

I was actually going to say that I’m running into the exact same thing. It works fine most of the time, but then it just hangs, taking 20 or 30 seconds to load a page or open any PDF. Just now, I spent a good minute waiting for a few PDFs to load, only for things to go back to normal, and then the lag returns. I've been noticing this pattern over the last week. Since I see others reporting the same issue, I doubt it's something on my end—especially since every other site is loading perfectly fine.

The worst part for me is how slow it is at loading messages. It makes trying to actually chat with anyone basically impossible. 🙂

It happens to me constantly... like, really often... where I can't access the forum for days at a time. Exactly like that. Just some random error. And it only happens on this American Reddit compared to all the other former Yugoslavian sites. Sometimes I try different ways to get in and it actually works... for example, if I can't connect directly by typing in Power Forum, I'll try going through a news site, a politics blog, or some random PDF link—and it works. I assume the admins are just cleaning up search indexes or doing maintenance on the forum, which is why things lag 😁....

It would be quite nice if someone in charge actually bothered to address these inquiries and complaints. Since May 21st, there hasn't been a single word from them—just a growing pile of frustrated users and total silence on their end. I suppose we’re all dealing with the exact same issue. For me, this has been dragging on since last Friday, May 17th, and here we are on the 26th without any resolution.

Nothing. They're just playing deaf. Though, they've clearly got something going on behind the scenes, especially since there were issues with the IMG codes too. This site hasn't been running right for a while now. Maybe the moderators are in the dark and the higher-ups just aren't sharing anything.😁

It’s not just that, either; now all my settings have reverted to English without me touching a single thing. It feels like they're forcing some kind of global reset on everyone's account. They're clearly tinkering with something behind the scenes, though I guess I'm hardly an expert on whatever technical glitch is happening here.

Look, nobody is ignoring you on purpose, it’s just that we actually had to figure out what was breaking first 🙂

Since we ran into those issues with how Google was indexing images, the whole site basically had to be overhauled and combed through manually. We ended up building a custom script that handles most of the heavy lifting and makes things way easier for the mods. Because of all that, we had to pull IMG from the entire site temporarily, but we’re slowly bringing it back to specific sub-forums where it belongs.

Until we can get through everything using that new script, you might still run into these kinds of outages or glitches here and there, but our tech guys are grinding every single day to get this sorted out.

Look, I can't really help you out much here, 🙂
I mean, there are probably thousands of users on Reddit who could fit that description.
If you happen to stumble upon the username, just drop it here and maybe we can figure out where the profile went.

Once we realized there was an issue with how Google was indexing our images, the entire site had to undergo a massive overhaul and a deep dive. We actually developed a custom script that handled a huge portion of the heavy lifting, which made things much easier for the moderation team. Because of that situation, we had to disable IMG across the whole platform, though we are now in the process of gradually reintroducing it to specific sub-forums, just as it was originally configured.
As long as we are still running this specialized script to scan the site, you might encounter these kinds of outages or hiccups in service, but please know our technicians are working around the clock every single day to iron out these kinks.
