northernpilot2 said:Look, nobody is intentionally ghosting you guys. We just had to pinpoint exactly what was breaking before we could fix it. 🙂

After that whole mess with Google indexing the images incorrectly, the entire site had to undergo a massive cleanup and a deep dive. We actually ended up building a custom script to handle most of the heavy lifting, which has been a huge lifesaver for the mod team. Because of all that, we had to take IMG off the entire site temporarily, but we're slowly rolling it back out to the specific sub-forums where it belongs.

As long as we’re still running this script to scrub the site, you might run into these little hiccups or periods of downtime. Our tech guys are grinding away every single day to smooth everything out.

thanks for the update!
I was honestly starting to panic—I thought maybe my Wi-Fi was acting up, or my laptop was dying, or I’d picked up some nasty virus... I mean, I was spiraling through every possible worst-case scenario!

Well, this is it.
I’m satisfied with what I’ve heard and read. Honestly, I’m not under any illusions that my personal grievances were what actually triggered the authorities to step in. My thanks to you.
It is a bit of a shame that I won't be contributing to the OFF sections quite like I used to, but there are plenty of other threads out there worth getting lost in.

Honestly, trying to use Reddit lately has been a total nightmare.
It takes a freaking eternity just to get a single page to load—we're talking a full minute sometimes.
We already know the deal: apparently, some script is crawling through every nook and cranny of the site, and until they sort that mess out, the whole platform is basically running on life support.

Is there any sign we’ll actually see the site back to normal soon, or are we just stuck dealing with this garbage indefinitely?

I guess I have to refresh my old complaints because the site is actually running lightning fast today. Looks like they’re finally finishing up the cleanup? image
Hopefully it stays this way from now on.. 👍

I mean, I honestly think they cleared out the whole subreddit just because of that one comment you made here 😁

Well Done! 🙏

More sketchy software on this forum again... I guess I should've just stuck to Internet Explorer

Ugh, not this again. I’m having a nightmare trying to get onto the monitoring site through Chrome. It feels like a total broken record at this point since we dealt with something almost identical a while back. Is anyone actually working on a fix, or am I just shouting into the void here?

I honestly feel like Google is low-key sabotaging this forum just to push their Adwords... they probably want those ads front and center, so they're displacing everything else. That's just my two cents, but I feel like there's something going on here... Or what if they're actually slipping some phishing and Malware into the ads on the site?

So, Chrome threw this error at me first thing this morning—now I’m stuck browsing the forum using only Firefox 🙂

You can actually just do this through Chrome. If you go into the advanced settings and then just click "proceed anyway" (you might have to hit it 2 or 3 times)

You can actually disable phishing and Malware detection within Chrome if you really want to. It’s pretty obvious there’s some trash polluting this forum again. Moderators: grab your brooms and get back to coding.

What happened when Google scanned this site?
Out of the 1,272 pages we analyzed on this site during the last 90 days, 11 individual pages triggered alerts for malicious software being downloaded and installed without any user permission. The most recent visit from Google occurred on 2013-10-23, which is also the date suspicious content was last detected here.
The identified malicious software consists of 2 viruses and 2 exploits.

This malicious software is being hosted across 3 different domains, specifically bilingmobiline.is-a-rockstar.com/, pachakamaq.com/, and duqewcenofm.serveftp.net/.

One domain appears to be acting as an intermediary to distribute malware to the site's visitors, which includes monitor.us/.

This site was hosted on 2 networks, specifically AS5391 (AT&T) and AS15169 (GOOGLE).

By the way, monitor.us is dealing with the exact same issue right now.

In case anyone else is running into this, I couldn't get anything to work through Firefox, Chrome, or even Internet Explorer. It wasn't until I tried accessing it via Yahoo that I finally managed to break through.

This might be some of the most useful information in the universe... depending on how you look at it.

The mod's post on that other thread is dead wrong. I just logged onto Reddit a minute ago and my antivirus—F-Secure—flagged it immediately.

I haven't been able to log in with my actual username since this morning. Any idea why?

It says 1,830 days have passed and my password has expired...😕

So I'm supposed to change it, but every time I try, I just keep getting hit with those classic 503 and 504 errors.

Why you gotta troll so hard?

Oh right, I forgot you're a moderator, so I guess you get a free pass to be an absolute jerk.

I'm talking about this specific one: http://upload.slike.com/slike/2013/1...x-Untitled.png

And I'm pretty sure you guys all know exactly what the 503 and 504 look like already.
