Is it actually possible for just one outlier to pop up and then vanish within a day or two, or am I looking at something more significant here?

I mean, why wouldn't it be possible? 🤷

I suspect that probably isn't an external one. If it really just disappears like that, it’s quite likely you're dealing with internal hemorrhoids that prolapse outward (usually right after a bowel movement) and then eventually slide back inside after a little while.

Keith Miller9,
The unfortunate Dag-Hal-Rar is only used over at Mercury out of all the hospitals in the city.
You can get it done without the wait if you head to private clinics like Butterfly or Arithera—but, well, as you probably guessed, they’ll charge you about 10 grand for that luxury.
It’s a total pain... personally, I had it pretty easy—I only had to wait "just" six months.
Really sorry to hear that.

It’s a bit of a nuisance, really; I managed to come out on top myself, though I had to wait "only" six months.
I feel for you.

Michael Cook4,

thanks for the heads-up.

I'm aware of Butterfly and Aritheru, but unfortunately, those prices are just a bit too steep for my budget. I have all the information now, I guess, but I'm still not entirely sure how to actually solve the problem :-).

I wasn't even entirely certain if I was actually dealing with a hemorrhoid, so I did what any rational person does and turned to Google—only to have it confirm my worst suspicions.

Thanks a million!
I think I’ve had something similar happen maybe two or three times now, but honestly, the idea of hemorrhoids never even crossed my mind at the time. I suppose I was just far too young to realize that such things could actually be a source of misery.

It’s finally starting to settle down a bit, but I can't help wondering—is this actually worth making an appointment at the Mayo Clinic, or am I just overthinking things?

It’s almost gone now, but do you still think I should go see a doctor?

Just go and let them give you some advice on what to do next...

It seems like you're still in the early stages, but once they start protruding, I think it's probably better to just go see a doctor sooner rather than later. Most of us don't even bother heading to the clinic until things get genuinely unpleasant. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

Does anyone know how long the waitlist is for an appointment with Dr. Ivanović? And once you actually get seen, how much longer are we talking before surgery happens?
Basically, I'm just trying to figure out the fastest way to get this whole thing moving.
Thanks.

If anyone out there can help, please hit me up at tomislav.24@net.hr.
I need to get this sorted ASAP. I'm open to any suggestions on what actually works, which method is the most effective, and what kind of damage I should expect to pay if I go through a private specialist
. Specifically looking for someone who's already been through the ringer with this
.
Thanks

I’ve got an appointment scheduled with Dr. Ivanović over at Butterfly in two days. Last time, the surgery happened maybe five or six days later—same place, using the DG HAL and the unfortunate Dag-Hal-Rar method.
They told me the procedure was permanent, but honestly? It didn't stick for me.☕

Hey everyone, I figured I’d jump in here and share my own experience—hopefully, it might help someone out there!
I’ve been dealing with hemorrhoids for over two years now, and they've progressed to stages 3 and 4, so at this point, surgery is my only real option.
Before I get into it, I want to offer a little word of caution about something we all tend to do: listening to every single person who claims they have a "cure." When you're sick, all you want is to feel better, right? You'd practically give anyone anything just to find relief, and unfortunately, people take advantage of that to make a quick buck.
When you're still at stage one, you really need to tackle the issue immediately—along with any embarrassment or shame you might feel about seeing a doctor. A colleague of mine actually has a remedy she uses the second she feels symptoms starting; she just grates up some potatoes and applies them around the area every night before bed, and within a few days, they vanish. Just to be clear, I tried that myself, but by then it was way too late for me—though it did help soothe the constant stinging and pain I deal with.
Then, you've got things like pure lard which can help, but only if the issues are external.
Detralex tablets are something I’ve used too; they provided some temporary relief from the pain, but they didn't actually fix the underlying problem. Again, I'm only mentioning this because I waited too long, but believe me, they do help a bit.
As for Ultraproct suppositories and cream, those helped too, but again, they only eased the pain and stinging without making the condition go away. Unfortunately—and I say this because I let my own pride and shame get in the way of seeing a doctor sooner—it just wasn't enough. My advice to everyone is: don't wait until it's too late!
Anyway, I have my surgery scheduled for October 14th, 2014, so once that's behind me, I'll try to give you guys a better idea of what to expect based on my own journey.
🙂

Has anyone here actually gone through with the THD method? I’m curious to hear what the experience was like for you—and more importantly, where did you get it done?
Thanks

Has anyone actually messed around with that Hemosens kit yet? It looks pretty solid since you get both the gel and the capsules—kind of a one-stop shop, I guess—so I was wondering if anyone here has put it to the test. If you’ve tried it, would you mind sharing how it actually worked out for you? Thanks!

Let me lay this out for you guys.
Ten days ago, the pain just hit me out of nowhere. Everything happened in a single day. For the next two days, the pain was so intense I couldn't even sleep. Now, look, I’m not exactly a softie—I can usually tough through pretty much anything—but this was different. I finally caved and took some meds. If this ever happens to you, do yourself a favor and grab some 400mg Ibuprofen. You don't need a prescription for it, and honestly, it's my top recommendation. If this catches you in the middle of the night, you'll be cursing the fact that you didn't have some on hand. ($10)
The lump was about the size of a small walnut, which explains why it was causing me such a massive amount of grief and pain.

So, the whole "internet research" phase begins—scouring the web and reading through various forums...
Once I had a rough idea of what might be going on, I grabbed a referral and headed over to Mercury. I'd heard nothing but good things about Dr. Ivanović from people's recommendations. He specifically sees patients on Fridays from 9 to 12, though they have other doctors available during those same hours all week, so you don't necessarily have to wait until Friday if you don't want to.

I get to Mercury, the doctor calls my name, and I'm told to strip down and get onto this specialized exam bed on all fours. First, he does an internal exam, then moves to the external hemorrhoid check, and tells me: "First stage and thrombosis." He asked if I wanted him to fix it right then and there. The nurse gave me a nod like, "Yeah, just get it over with," so I said fine. Thrombosis is basically just a buildup of clotted blood, and let me tell you, it hurt. Then comes the local anesthesia. They poke you four times. It's awkward, sure, but you can endure those ten seconds—it's kind of like being at the dentist.🙂
He mentioned he hadn't seen one that large in quite a while. You just sit there waiting for the injection to kick in, and then they actually make an incision to squeeze that clot out. Once it's done, you spend about half an hour sitting there while they double-check everything just to make sure it's all good before sending you home.
I drove myself and parked a bit further away because I had absolutely zero intention of having surgery today. If you can, bring someone to drive you. Driving right after this is... uncomfortable, to say the least, though you can manage if you have to.

Based on everything I read online, I was convinced I had third or fourth-stage issues. But man, I felt like hell, and it turns out I was only at the first stage because of that thrombosis.
My advice? Don't play doctor. Don't try to diagnose yourself. Just get a referral and go see a professional so they can tell you exactly what's actually happening.

One more important tip here
Try picking up some Dolocaine ointment. It’s meant to help push those hemorrhoids back where they belong, and the reason I’m even bringing this up is because—if I understood correctly—once they pop out and you don't get them back in, the blood can start to clot. At least, that's what my nurse told me happened in my case. The Dolocaine has lidocaine in it, which is basically just a numbing agent to dull the pain while you're trying to deal with it... obviously, if it works, great, but if it doesn't, just grab a referral and head straight to the doctor so they can handle it properly.
If you need anything else, just give me a shout.
Best to everyone.

Do they actually go away completely, or is the Hemosens kit more about just managing the symptoms (like the swelling, pain, bleeding, etc.)?

I am reaching out because I desperately need some advice...
For about two or three months now, I have been experiencing this persistent pressure in my lower pelvic region and right near my tailbone—which, if you recall, I actually managed to fracture a few years back. Honestly, I can’t even tell anymore whether the pain in my tailbone is superficial or coming from deep inside, but over this past week, there has been this intense pressure in my rectum, accompanied by a sensation of heat, almost like it's burning.
I went to see my OB-GYN, and they assured me everything looks fine.
However, as I’ve been doing some reading lately, I’m starting to worry that these symptoms might be causing hemorrhoids, and frankly, I am terrified to go to a doctor because I'm scared it might be something much more serious.
To be specific, there is this heavy pressure in my lower pelvis, and it feels as though the anal sphincter has just given way, creating this overwhelming sensation that everything is going to slip right out of me.
There hasn't been any blood in my stool, and generally, I feel okay, but this week has been absolutely maddening due to this dull, aching pain and this pelvic sensation that feels like I'm in active labor.
Please, I am begging for your opinions and any guidance on what I should do next.
Thank you.
