I’m still using suppositories and ointment, and they've almost receded, but I’m thinking about taking Daflon just to really knock them out for good. I just don't know if it's prescription-only, and for some reason, I'm feeling pretty uneasy about seeing a proctologist.
Do you think it would be okay to just take Daflon on my own?

A local clinic can write you a prescription for it without an exam (just a private script).

If you’re looking for a natural remedy, some people swear by taking a dried fig on an empty stomach after letting it soak in olive oil for a full 40 days.

It’s pretty harmless, really. 😁

I had no idea Pilex was that pricey—we're talking two bottles $400. He insists it's worth the investment.

Yeah, Pilex is expensive. The small bottle with 14 capsules runs you about $350, and the bigger 28-capsule one hits nearly $600. It might be "worth it" according to some, but honestly? Daflon works just as well and it's basically four times cheaper (you can grab 60 tablets for around $150). Plus, if you stick to a heavy dose, it lasts you 10 days, which totally beats out Pilex.

It’s worth it, I guess, but honestly, Daflon works pretty much the same way and it's practically four times cheaper—you can grab 60 tablets for around 150 USD. Plus, if you stick to a heavy dose, that lasts you ten days, which actually outlasts the Pilex.

I ended up ordering the 14-count Pilex through the Coner pharmacy webstore, and it cost me $98.
I went with the smaller pack just to test the waters, and well... things are finally feeling a bit less swollen. I'll take these 14, twice a day, and we'll see how it goes.

That small bottle for the tough stuff isn't enough. From what I've dealt with, you need the bigger one because the treatment takes twice as long.

I'm with you on that—taking just 14 tablets isn't going to get you anywhere, and honestly, it seems overpriced for such a small amount. From what I hear, you really need at least two bottles to see any results.

If that Daflon is basically the same thing ingredient-wise, I don't see why it couldn't be used instead.

I tried starting out with the smaller bottle of Pilex, but I realized pretty quickly that was a total waste of time—it just wasn't enough. Only the big Pilex actually did anything. After blowing through a massive amount of cash—like, easily $600 twice a year on Pilex just to deal with sudden bleeding—I decided to make a switch this year. I went with Daflon (60 tablets) instead. It’s only $30, which is way better than dropping $600 on Pilex, especially since I stuck to a higher dose until the end.

It’s worth noting—the price gap is actually pretty massive.

Daflon actually works pretty well—once you get through those initial massive doses, you can just take one or two a day as a preventative measure. It’s not really an hemorrhoid treatment per se, but more about dissolving blood clots and helping out with veins in general..

Hello, everyone.

For about a week now, I’ve been dealing with what feels like hemorrhoid issues.
I have a history of IBS, and about five years ago, a colonoscopy confirmed microscopic colitis, IBS, and hemorrhoids.
Aside from some occasional blood on the toilet paper, I haven't had much trouble with hemorrhoids, nor have I felt any extreme discomfort related to them.
As for my usual IBS symptoms, those haven't flared up in quite a while.

Over the last week, however, there’s been intense itching in the anal area, and even more irritating... discharge. Sometimes it’s yellowish, sometimes clear, and occasionally brownish—looking like bits of stool.
It feels like there's a constant moisture in the area. At first, I assumed it was linked to the IBS, so I tried the IBS formula, but it didn't help at all.
I haven't been able to get a hold of my primary care physician for advice for days now. I've checked for lumps or anything resembling hemorrhoids, but I can't find anything.

I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with similar symptoms. I see mentions of discharge being related to hemorrhoids on various websites, but I haven't noticed anyone bringing it up in this specific thread...

Hi there,

Does anyone happen to know if it's okay to start another six-pack of Daflon right away after finishing the first box, or should I wait a bit? .. I ask because one little nuisance right at the entrance to the dark zone hasn't quite shrunk down yet .. I'm not experiencing any pain or bleeding, and my bowel movements are totally normal .. It just seems to pop up there once or twice a year, usually when I'm straining a bit on the toilet ..

Thanks and cheers!

For me, things usually start looking up about 7 to 10 days after I finish that last pill from the 60-count pack—it’s definitely not an overnight fix.
Since it's just a herbal supplement, you can keep taking it three times a day without really worrying about it.

I need some advice on hemorrhoid pillows. Right now I'm using this one, but I have to inflate it twice a day.

Hey there, everyone! Has anyone here dealt with external hemorrhoid removal lately? I'm curious about the recovery process. I finally had a grape-sized thrombosed one cut out on Friday after spending nearly three weeks trying to tackle it myself (using Faktu, Hepan, and Daflon). My first bowel movement two days after surgery was like a rock... I honestly thought my rectum was going to split open. The next day, the second one was just as hard, though at least it was formed enough to pass easier. Naturally, both caused some pain and light bleeding.
Since I'm the impatient type, this whole recovery is starting to feel incredibly long and exhausting...
Has anyone else gone through something similar? I'd love to compare experiences...

Lisa Kim5 said:Hey everyone, just wanted to jump in and share... finally solved my anal issues after years, maybe over five years now. Doctors gave me all sorts of specialized creams for hemorrhoids and cracked skin, but nothing worked. It was painful just to go to the bathroom... so I decided to try some basic zinc cream used for acne, since I heard it helps. After applying it for a few days, the pain is totally gone. I'm so happy! Honestly, I'm just annoyed that none of those specialists thought to suggest this all these years... such a waste. Anyway, that's my experience. Just glad to be living normally again... Cheers!

I used to mix zinc ointment with Vaseline to get the right consistency, then I found Sudocr at a DM and it works wonders for small wounds and the anal area.
What really caught me off guard was the psyllium. Even though I was drinking gallons of water, my stools became harder than ever. A quick search online suggested it might not be great for people with GI narrowing and can actually backfire. Going back to flax, chia seeds, kefir, fruit compotes, and donatmg

Susan Brooks48 said:Hey there, fellow sufferers! Has anyone here recently gone through surgery for external hemorrhoids? I’m trying to get a sense of what the recovery timeline actually looks like. Last Friday, I had a thrombosed one—about the size of a grape—excised after spending nearly three weeks desperately trying to manage it myself (using Faktu, Hepan, and Daflon). My first bowel movement two days after the procedure was... let's just say it felt like passing a literal boulder; I genuinely thought my rectum was going to split wide open. The next day, the second one was similarly hard, though at least it was somewhat formed, making it a slightly easier pass. Naturally, both instances resulted in some pain and light bleeding.
Since I’m an impatient person by nature, this whole recovery process feels incredibly long and agonizingly slow.
Does anyone have similar experiences to share?

So, about six days ago, I had some external lumps removed. My doctor told me they weren't technically hemorrhoids, but more like skin tags left over from where hemorrhoids used to be. Honestly, I have no idea—anyways, the procedure is identical: they just excise it and stitch you up. I’d scrolled through the forums beforehand and everyone seemed to claim things were fine just a couple of days later. Let me tell you: I cannot emphasize enough the sheer level of pain that hits you post-op. The stitches themselves when you're lying down (and you won't be able to sit for at least five days) aren't even the worst part—that's expected. But the bathroom trips! My god! It might honestly be the most intense pain I've ever experienced. My best advice? Take a laxative the day before surgery to completely clear everything out, and then basically fast for the next three days. Only eat when you absolutely have to, and stick to stuff you can puree—yogurt, soups, smoothies, whatever. Seriously, nobody emphasizes this enough, and your doctor won't mention it either, but that specific pain is enough to make you lose consciousness. By the way, I'm on day seven now, and I can finally sit on a cushion; the itching has started, which usually means things are healing. But all that talk about recovery taking only three days? Total bullshit!

Honestly, I can't emphasize enough how much pain you're in after surgery. It’s been 12 days since my procedure and the wound is still bleeding a little bit. I don't really see any improvement with the bleeding. The pain is decreasing, but the stinging and itching are getting worse. I apply Bepanthen. Sitting is definitely not happening... eating on my left side like the ancient Romans used to do.

The pain is tapering off, sure, but now there's this constant stinging and itching—it's maddening. I've been using Bepanthen to manage it. As for sitting down? Forget about it. I’m basically eating lying on my left side like a Roman.

😂😂😂😂🤣! Personally, I’ve been using compresses—just soaking some gauze in Octenisept and tucking it right in. It actually lets me sit at the office now (provided I have a cushion), so maybe give that a shot. Just a heads-up: grab the large bottle of Octenisept from the pharmacy, because you'll burn through the small ones in three days flat. As for the itching... well, I haven't found anything that helps that part yet.
