I used Daflon for a few months about a year or two ago, if I remember correctly, and it worked fine.
Last night, I emailed my doctor to see if I could just use a cream instead of taking pills. She recommended Faktu ointment and sent the prescription over to the pharmacy.

It depends. Faktu just treats the symptoms—it doesn't actually fix the underlying issue, which is the hematoma in those anal veins..

Has anyone here actually gone through with skin tag removal after their hemorrhoids healed up? How was the recovery process—did it suck? And more importantly, which surgeon or clinic did you use?

Hey everyone... Just looking for some advice here, so please help a guy out.

It’s been about six years since I first dealt with hemorrhoids. At the time, I just had this weird itching sensation down there and thought, "No way, it can't be those." Then, sitting on the toilet, I felt a lump and realized my suspicion was right. There wasn't much blood, just some discomfort and a dull ache. I immediately went into research mode to figure out how to suppress them, and what actually worked for me back then was Faktu cream and some suppositories. They cleared up in about a week, mostly because I stuck to good hygiene and started eating more fiber. After they subsided, they rarely came back—maybe once every year or so. I’d just follow the same routine, maybe two more times over the years, and think, "Cool, I've got this handled."
Then this year happens. It’s like they waited for the very first day of my vacation to show up. Luckily, it wasn't anything catastrophic this time—no bleeding, no excruciating pain, just that annoying, nagging discomfort. The problem is, where I was staying, there wasn't a pharmacy in sight, and I didn't have anything on me since I hadn't had any issues for over two years. So, I spent eight days just dealing with it before heading back home to the city. As soon as I got back, I ran straight to the drugstore for the suppositories and cream. I’ve been using them for about a week now (it was faster last time), and while the discomfort is gone, the lump itself hasn't budged. It's been there for over two weeks now. Honestly, it’s starting to get on my nerves because I'm applying everything religiously and nothing is changing.
I'm wondering if I should try switching to Tylenol cream, or if anyone has a better suggestion?
Also, does anyone have experience with sex while dealing with hemorrhoids? I'm not sure if the lump would get in the way, or if it would be painful for me during penetration?

Got a suggestion here: watch what you eat.
There’s definitely stuff you’re eating or drinking that just makes hemorrhoids flare up.
Or maybe you’re sitting for way too long, sweating like crazy, or rocking synthetic underwear down there.

You’ve gotta know your own body—what works for you and what absolutely wrecks you.
No doctor is ever going to understand your body better than you do.

It’s a weird disease, honestly. For all of us, it’s always some combination of other things triggering it.

Hell, it could even be from riding a scooter in the summer; you basically glue your anus to a scorching hot black seat and boom—there's your problem.

Could be rushed bathroom trips or dealing with hard stools. My advice? Grab your phone, sit tight, and just let it happen without straining.

It can be anything.

You can't exactly post on here about which specific pâté you ate, what kind of coffee you drink, or what exactly gives you gas; we all react differently.

You have to play detective with your own habits and use a process of elimination to slowly fix the situation.

All those meds out there? They just dull the pain. None of them actually stop the problem from happening in the first place.

Daflon tablets, plus a trip to the proctologist.

There’s probably something you’re eating or drinking that’s basically fuel for hemorrhoids.
Or maybe it's sitting too long, sweating too much, or wearing synthetic fabrics down there.

You really have to learn what works for your body and what messes it up.
No doctor is going to know your body better than you do.

It’s a strange condition—it always seems to be triggered by some combination of external factors.

Hell, it could even be from riding a scooter in the summer; you sit on a hot black seat and suddenly you've got problems.

It could be rushed bathroom trips or dealing with hard stools; the trick there is just to grab your phone and wait for things to happen naturally without straining.

It can be anything, really.

You can't exactly post here about which brand of pâté you ate, how much coffee you drank, or what specifically causes gas; we all react differently.

You have to investigate your own habits and slowly fix things through trial and error.

All those medications just dull the pain; none of them actually stop the problem from happening in the first place.

I know I need to watch my diet, which I do whenever they flare up. I try to stick to high fiber and make sure I'm not straining too hard when I'm on the toilet. I mean, it’s not my first time dealing with this, it's just that this particular lump won't budge.

The pain isn't even bad; it was there for the first couple of days, but the suppositories and ointment took care of that.

Actually, I was mostly looking for advice on milder cases—recommendations for a cream or certain suppositories that actually worked for someone else.

Do you think I should start on the Daflon right away, or should I hit up the proctologist first?

Also, does anyone here have any experience with Pilex tablets? I've heard they're actually pretty solid and reliable...

For me, Daflon is always my go-to. A specialist prescribed it to me about 10 years ago—back when I actually listened to doctors.
Now, once or twice a year when things flare up, I just grab a 60-count bottle, knock them back, and everything settles down.
Though, honestly, you should probably see a doctor first. It’s not like Daflon is going to hurt you, but still.
The routine is usually three times a day (two pills each time) for the first five days, then it drops to twice a day (two pills each time).
One 60-count bottle covers one full round.

Pilex is way too pricey. Sure, maybe it’s slightly better, but honestly? A box of 60 Daflon tablets works wonders too. Last time I actually cleared this up, I went hard on a heavy dose from start to finish—like, 3 pills in the morning with my yogurt and then another 3 at night before hitting the hay. Basically, I just hammered them for 10 days straight.

Sure, we could go that route. But according to the instructions:

The standard daily dose for the first four days is 3 tablets twice a day (that’s 6 tablets total per day), then for the following three days, you drop down to 2 tablets twice a day (so, 4 tablets total daily).

After that, if you even need it, the maintenance dose is just 2 tablets a day.

I know how it goes, but honestly, things were getting pretty critical with my bleeding back then. So, I just decided to take matters into my own hands and bumped up my dosage until I was finished. It worked, though—just before the tenth day, the bleeding stopped completely.

I think I'll start with Daflon first. From what I've gathered, there aren't many major contraindications, so I won't have to jump straight into an aggressive dosage right out of the gate.
If that doesn't do the trick, I'll probably have to head to a specialist to get everything checked out and figure out my next move...

About six years ago, I dealt with hemorrhoids for the first time. It started as this weird anal itching, and I figured it was just something minor. Then, while on the toilet, I felt a lump and realized exactly what was going on. There wasn't any bleeding, just discomfort and some mild pain. I immediately went down a rabbit hole researching how to fix it, and what worked for me was using Faktu ointment and suppositories. They cleared up in about a week, provided I stayed hygienic and upped my fiber intake. Once they were gone, they barely bothered me again—maybe once every year or so. I'd just follow the same routine, and it was fine. I thought I had the situation under control.
Then this year hits, right when I’m away on vacation. Luckily, it isn't anything extreme—no blood, no excruciating pain, just that same annoying discomfort. The problem is, where I am right now, there isn't a pharmacy in sight, and since I hadn't had issues for over two years, I didn't bother packing anything. After eight days of dealing with it, I finally made it back to the States and headed straight to the drugstore for supplies. I've been using the cream and suppositories for about a week now. While the discomfort has subsided, the lump itself hasn't budged, and it's been sitting there for over two weeks. Honestly, it's starting to get on my nerves because despite being consistent with the treatment, nothing is changing.
I'm wondering if I should switch to Dolokain cream, or if anyone has a better suggestion?
Also, does anyone have experience with sex while dealing with hemorrhoids? I'm not sure if the lump will be an issue, or if it'll be painful for my partner during penetration.

If I were you, I'd definitely hold off on sex for at least a couple of weeks.
I'm currently taking Daflon (actually, the first time I used it was two or three years ago, and things cleared up after a few months of combining it with ointment).
A few weeks ago, they flared up again—dammit. One large one specifically. I've been using Daflon and Faktu for about ten days now, and it's almost receded, but I'm sticking to the full six-week course and applying the cream twice a day.
The price of the tablets caught me off guard, though—$36 for a 36-count pack $35 at the pharmacy this morning!

I’ve heard firsthand that Pilex capsules actually work—a friend of mine took two bottles back-to-back and it did the trick for him.

Afterward, he just used them for maintenance—taking them occasionally, though honestly, he probably took them more out of habit than necessity.

Supposedly they're quite pricey, but I figured I'd pass the info along in case anyone is considering them. I was a skeptic about this sort of thing, but he swears by the results.

Also, you might want to check your blood pressure; high pressure can often be a contributing factor to hemorrhoids, so it's worth looking into.

I'm on Daflon right now—actually, I used them once before, maybe two or three years ago, and things cleared up after a few months of using an ointment.
A few weeks back, they flared up again... damn... well... one of them is pretty bad. I've been taking Daflon and using Faktu cream for about ten days now, and they've almost retreated, but I'm going to finish the full course. It's a six-week regimen, applying the cream twice a day.
And man, the price of the tablets caught me off guard—36 count $35 at the pharmacy this morning!

So, I'm avoiding sex and making up all sorts of excuses because it's just awkward to tell him that hemorrhoids are screwing me over. I'm still using suppositories and ointment, and they've mostly gone down, but I'm thinking about starting Daflon just to make sure they stay under control. I'm just not sure if they require a prescription, and honestly, for a few reasons, I'm feeling a bit uneasy about actually going to see a proctologist.
Do you think it would be okay to just pick up some Daflon on my own?

I've only ever heard positive things about Pilex, though admittedly mostly from the guy who brought them to the US market, but his arguments for why they work were pretty solid based on people's actual experiences.
And the most important part is that there aren't really any contraindications, so I think I might give them a shot...
Does anyone else have any recommendations or personal experience with them?

That's exactly what I did. A bottle of Pilex with 28 capsules goes for 600 USD.
