DraftKings--->LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders [Half-time or Full-time Draw @1.65] (5/10)

First off, I’m not expecting much scoring from these two this season. Their offensive additions have been pretty underwhelming. I watched some of Seattle's preseason games, and they were mostly scoreless in the first half—if I remember right, they had at least two 0-0 halves. They're also missing Lasse Nielsen due to suspension, plus Kayke and Nicholas Thomas are out with injuries. Seattle hasn't changed much either; besides that one decent center-back signing, they've kept most of the same squad. No major exits that I could find. On the other hand, LA Galaxy brought in a few young loanees, but the core remains the same. They were busy with transfers last year, but this year looks a bit thin. Both teams are sticking with their veteran coaches, so I expect them to play the same old way—and that usually means a draw, given how their last four meetings ended.

First off, I’m not expecting much scoring from these two. Their offensive additions have been pretty underwhelming. I caught some of LAFC's preseason games, and they looked pretty toothless in the first half—if I remember right, at least two matches were deadlocked 0-0 at the break. 02,00 Seattle Sounders - Portland Timbers

pick : (2,5) Over 1,65 SS
BTTS & 3+ 2,05 SS

Seattle was a total letdown during the Spring season—just scraped into 12th place and looked pretty lifeless most of the time... I mean, giving up 32 goals in just 17 games? That’s a disaster if you're actually hoping to compete for anything meaningful. They’ve got enough talent to sniff a playoff spot, and they'll try that in the Summer League, but if you ask me 😁 their defense is still a complete mess from earlier this year. You saw it in the opener against LAFC when they ended up in a 3:3 shootout. Their offense usually does its job, but if they keep playing like they have no idea how to defend, they're going to get punished. They can score on anyone, but honestly, they can also concede to anyone. Statistically speaking, their games back in the Spring averaged 3.29 goals, which puts them at 6th in the league for high-scoring affairs. They tend to see more action when they're playing away from home, which is a slight downside for this specific bet, but I still think we're looking at an open game with plenty of chances... They really want all three points today, and the only way they get there is by playing aggressively, which isn't exactly their forte
. Portland is sort of a mid-table squad; their average goal count in the Spring was 2.94. They kicked off the Summer League with a boring 0:0 draw and somehow managed to pick up two red cards in the process. They'd probably settle for a point today, but since Seattle is famous for those random, unpredictable blunders, they might just walk away with all three... A team like Seattle can definitely put more than one past a keeper like Portland; in their last five away matches, they found the net in three of them. Looking at their eight away trips in the Spring, they scored in six of them, but they conceded in every single one of those eight. Out of those eight, five went over the total, and every time they hit the "over," it also hit both BTTS and 3+... That's what I'm banking on tonight 😁

DraftKings-->FC Dallas-Colorado Rapids [Half Time Draw @1.60] (5/10)
DraftKings-->FC Dallas-Colorado Rapids [First Half Under 1.5 goals @1.40] (5/10)

Alright, the new season is kicking off and nobody’s playing it too crazy yet. Dallas brought in a new striker and left back, while Colorado beefed up their defense with a solid holding mid and a reliable center back. Dallas also has a new manager—an Englishman who played center back himself and apparently loves a defensive, tight game, which plays right into these picks. Plus, looking at the last 7 matchups, they've stayed under 1.5 goals in the first half every single time, and 9 of the last 10 followed suit. Also, 8 of the last 10 ended in a draw. Good luck, everyone. ☕

My little tip was going for over 2.5 goals at 1.65 odds
and maybe a 3+ total at 2.05.

Final score was 2:2. 👍

$22.00 Portland Timbers vs. LA Galaxy

pick : 2 $2.10 Single Bet
f+2 $3.80 Single Bet

The Timbers are sitting at 17th in the standings, which isn't exactly a glowing resume. They’ve only managed three wins in 17 games this half of the season, and weirdly enough, all three happened at home. Their home record looks like 9 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses, with a goal difference of 9:15... actually, let me rephrase that, they basically have the worst defense in the league, giving up about 40 goals in 17 matches. Of their four home losses, three of them were total blowouts on the spread (1:4, 0:4, 0:2). They started the season decently enough 😁 after grabbing a 0:0 draw away against the bottom-feeders, Union San Felipe—a game where they somehow walked away with three red cards 🤣. I guess they’re happy enough with a single point, but let's be real, Union San Felipe is a different universe compared to LA Galaxy, and getting anything out of today is going to be a massive uphill battle......
LA Galaxy, on the other hand, have an away record of 8 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses, with 13:12 in goals. They're basically the "over" kings of the league 😁. Out of those three away wins, two covered the spread comfortably (0:2, 1:3). You also have to factor in that they’ve been playing on two fronts practically all season; they were grinding through the Champions League until May when they got knocked out in the Round of 16 by Boca Juniors. All that fatigue definitely played a part in their erratic results and some pretty ugly play during the playoffs. They kicked off this stretch 🤣 with a wild 3:3 home draw against Audax, so they really need a win today. They’ve got a big matchup coming up at home against O'Higgins—the team that bumped them from the semifinals—so it would be great to head into that with some momentum, maybe following a win today 👋. Anyway, looking back at when these teams met earlier this season, the Galaxy absolutely dismantled them 6:1 😲. If we get even half of that today, I won't be complaining 😁

Seattle Sounders - Portland Timbers 1(-1.5) 1.80

Ever since Solskjer took over the reins at Seattle, he’s basically been performing some kind of magic trick... he grabbed the MLS Cup and turned this squad into an absolute powerhouse.
And man, they are absolutely killing it this season too! They’re sitting pretty in second place right now, and I can't stop obsessing over one specific stat—get this—their home record is a perfect 7-0-0, and they’ve managed to drop two or more goals in every single home match!
Seriously, Solskjer has built himself a total goal-scoring machine here.
The motivation is through the roof for these guys, their home field advantage is legendary, the coach is top-tier, and those strikers are just in such a killer mood lately... honestly, all of that should be plenty to secure a massive win.

Now, what can I even say about Portland? Last year (I actually caught their game live at the stadium!) I watched them go up against the LA Galaxy... and let me tell you, that version of the Galaxy absolutely demolished them 7-0! It was brutal.
They’re just sort of scraping by in their league standings... sitting in third place right now, trailing by 7 points, so the title is looking like a long shot for them this season.
I think Seattle is going to wrap this one up in the first leg so they can just relax and focus on the next round...

My money is on Seattle...

Cheers!

So, what’s the consensus on these Europa League qualifying matchups tomorrow?

Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Budućnost Podgorica 1 1.25
Rosenborg vs. FC Ordabasy 1 1.25
Anzhi Makhachkala vs. B. Honvéd FC 1 1.20
Young Boys vs. CSF Zimbru 1 1.20
Differdange vs. KAA Gent 2 1.20

I’ve been digging into these five pairings, and honestly, there's a pretty obvious pattern here—it's basically the same story across the board. You've got clubs from decent European leagues (think Ukraine, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Belgium) going up against teams from some seriously bottom-tier leagues (Mexico, Kazakhstan... I guess Canada is almost respectable compared to the rest, along with Moldova and Luxembourg). Plus, you have to factor in the brutal travel distances for some of these—like flying from Kazakhstan all the way to Norway, or Moldova over to Switzerland. On paper, this looks like a slam dunk, assuming these favorites actually give a damn and have enough motivation to push through. Does anyone have any inside intel on these games, or just a gut feeling they want to share?🙂 I'm really torn because I'm thinking about dropping a pretty significant chunk of change on this—and by "significant," I mean a serious amount.😁

Shakhtar Donetsk-FK Sutjeska 1 1.25
Rosenborg-FC Ordabasy 1 1.25
Anzhi Makhachkala-Budapest Honvéd FC 1 1.20
Young Boys-Zimbru Chisinau 1 1.20
Differdange-KAA Gent 2 1.20

So, I'm looking over these five games. They all seem pretty similar—solid teams from decent European leagues (think Ukraine, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, Belgium) facing off against clubs from much weaker leagues (Mexico, Kazakhstan, maybe Canada if we're being generous, Moldova, Luxembourg). Plus, there’s the travel factor for some, like flying from Kazakhstan to Norway or Moldova to Switzerland. It looks promising on paper, assuming these favorites actually give a damn about qualifying. If anyone has any inside info or just a gut feeling on these, let me know. 🙂 I'm torn because I was thinking of putting a decent amount on this, but like, a *lot*.😁

Too many legs for a "normal" bet, let alone a heavy one. Also, how much does the Europa League even matter to those heavy favorites? 🤷
Then there's the whole issue of team fitness, roster changes, chemistry... too many unknowns. Personally, I'd pass.

Joshua Garcia8 said:I honestly think that’s way too many matchups to call for a "standard" amount, let alone a decent one. The real question is how many of these teams are actually heavy favorites based on the odds—that's what makes the EL interesting. 🤷
Plus, you have to consider things like team form, roster changes during the break, how much chemistry they've actually built... there are just too many wildcards involved. Personally, I wouldn't touch this with a ten-foot pole.

Look, I get it—for big-name clubs from the top five leagues, the EL might feel like an afterthought. Like, for the English, the Premier League is everything, or for the Italians, it's all about the Scudetto... But for these smaller clubs? Making it into Europe is the whole game. The financial windfall from competing in these tournaments isn't exactly pocket change, either. So, in my book, those "favorites" I listed have plenty of skin in the game to grind out a win against these nobodies, regardless of their current form or if they've had time to gel. In matches like these, motivation is the absolute deciding factor—let's just hope they actually show up tomorrow.

I mean, sure, you could say that, but honestly? You’re looking at way too many matchups if you actually want to pull off something meaningful. It’s just asking for trouble because one of those massive favorites—take Denver yesterday, for instance—can easily trip up and ruin everything. Plus, let's be real, sometimes the favorites have a rough outing in the first leg, only to come back and absolutely crush it in the return match 🤷

Personally, I’m not feeling this Differdange-Gent matchup. To my mind, Gent doesn't look any stronger than Salzburg, especially considering Salzburg just dropped a game to the champions from Luxembourg... and besides, Gent actually offloaded three of their starters from last season. If you want to look back at how things shook out in last year's qualifiers:
1. round
Differdange (Lux) - Levadia (Est) 0:0 4.26 3.45 1.74
Levadia (Est) - Differdange (Lux) 0:1 1.33 4.61 7.96

2. round they advanced without even stepping on the pitch (due to their opponent, Olympiakos Volos, being disqualified)

3. round
Differdange (Lux) - Paris Saint-Germain (Fra) 0:4 21.30 9.04 1.08
Paris Saint-Germain (Fra) - Differdange (Lux) 2:0 1.02 13.92 29.51

As for Rosenborg in the Europa League, back in the 2009/10 season during the second qualifying round, they were knocked out by the Azerbaijani side Qarabag Agdam

Rosenborg - Karabakh Agdam 0:0 1.07 9.18 19.23
Karabakh Agdam - Rosenborg 1:0 8.96 4.58 1.27

The odds on that representative from the Russian school of football were actually quite interesting 🍿

Major League Soccer
13:45 Young Lions vs. Harimau mudo

Here's my little tip for you guys: I’m looking at an HT/FT 1/2 play sitting at odds of 26.0 in the lottery (which is basically like hitting a 2/1 shot at 35.0 with SS).

Major League Soccer is pretty much famous for how wild the player transfers can get, but honestly, we saw a different kind of craziness in tonight’s matchup between home Utd and Geylang. It was like watching a movie where the script completely flips halfway through—the visitors were actually sitting pretty at halftime with a 1:2 lead, making you think they had it in the bag, but then the home side just absolutely lost their minds in the second half. They went on this ferocious, unstoppable run that turned everything upside down, scoring six unanswered goals to finish things off with a massive 7:3 victory. 😲
So, looking back at everything we've seen in this league up to this point, the numbers tell a pretty interesting story. We've actually hit 7 total transfers, including 2 instances where we saw that wild HT/FT 1/2 flip, and then 5 times where the HT/FT 2/1 comeback happened. It’s kind of like watching a roller coaster where you think you know the track, but then suddenly the whole thing just flips upside down on you!
If you look at the numbers, the Young Lions have actually been the heavy hitters when it comes to these kinds of transfers, pulling off three of them so far—one involving a half-step up and two where they moved down a notch. So, looking back at the last round of games, he actually managed to pull off that transition, like 1/2.

So far, Harimau muda has played two matches, and honestly, they’ve been total wildcards—hitting that 2/1 result both times! The last time these two clubs went head-to-head, things ended in a total seesaw battle where the Lions actually held the lead at halftime, only to have the Harimau Muda come out swinging in the second half and completely flip the script on them.
I can't actually watch videos through this link, but if you tell me what's happening in it or paste a transcript, I'd be happy to dive in and give you my take! Just let me know the vibe of the video and we can get into it.
The Young Lions are definitely that kind of squad that loves to throw everything at the wall and see what sticks; they’re always aggressive and usually manage to grab that opening goal early on. That being said, you often see their momentum fade once they run into a more seasoned, powerhouse team that just knows how to grind out a result. Personally, I think this one is worth a little flutter if you're looking to play it safe with a smaller stake. Good luck!
