I really wouldn't want to see the US face off against Mexico in this tournament; honestly, a loss like that would leave me with a massive headache for at least a week. Not to mention how they’d just gloat again about how they consistently shut us down in almost any ball sport. That's why I'm secretly rooting for Mexico to get knocked out in the 🙂. If we happen to make it to the semifinals, I'd much rather we face someone else entirely. But let's take it one step at a time—if Norway doesn't fall today, then none of this matters anyway.

Denmark probably won't make the semifinals since they aren't picking up any points. Mexico could cruise through if they don't blow it by mishandling these four they're carrying.
Germany will likely finish at most at the top tier. Czechia 🤦
North Mexico is pretty much out of the running for the semifinals, just like Sweden.

First off, I’m looking at a win against the Americans tomorrow, and if that goes our way, here’s how I see the bracket shaking out.
The Semifinals
USA vs. Germany (same old story, we'll probably beat them by about five points)
Mexico vs. France/Spain—my money is on the Mexicans moving on.

If things start looking grim for us, I’m personally ready to storm the court myself just to tip the scales!!!
I can practically taste the gold... it feels like this legendary generation is destined to go out on top with a championship in their hands!!!

What a complete clusterfuck today for the Americans—honestly, you couldn't even script this mess for an adult movie 🙏 🙏 🙏

So, if they beat Iceland, they move on. But, get this—if they win by more than three goals, they advance without carrying any points over 🙏

Which means there’s actually a theoretical chance we see a 29-26 scoreline where nobody wants to score at all—since those Icelanders have their own math to worry about regarding point carryovers 🙏

At this point, an intentional own goal is basically the only way out—someone just tosses the ball back, hopes the ref misses the call, and lets it slide into the net 🤣

or we go with option B: the Islanders just walk away with the win regardless of how many goals they let in or how messy the scoreboard looks 😁

Germany ends up at the top. Czechia follows. 🤦
North Mexico pretty much has zero chance at making the semifinals. Same goes for Sweden.

Take it easy, everyone. Everyone still has a shot at qualifying. I honestly think it’s possible for the US to sweep all three games and pull themselves into a spot to move on. It’s not over yet.

If they pull off those three wins, the Americans better beat the Germans, and we'll need a few other specific scores to fall our way too.

I'm with you on that. The Mexicans tend to choke when the pressure hits, especially against the Germans or Swedes—not to mention the Mexicans...

The Germans just blew it with a +4 point lead. Their confidence will be through the roof now, which makes them dangerous heading into the finals.

Kyle Torres60 said:or option B—Iceland pulls off a win by any margin, and we don't have to sweat the goal difference or the points.😁

Then there's option C—the US loses to Norway, and Canada doesn't carry over any points, no matter how much of a blowout it is.☕

Can anyone give me a straight answer on how many of our fans are actually showing up at the games in Buffalo?

Last week, they announced that tickets were sold out at a thousand tickets apiece for the American supporters at every single game, but looking at the TV broadcast, I honestly don't get the feeling there are even a hundred people there. 🤷

Is this some kind of ticket scam, or are the local cameramen and directors just intentionally avoiding shots of the crowd in those red and white checkers we love? 😕

If it's the latter, that would be a pretty massive deception because you can't even hear them. If there really were a huge crowd, the home team would have had to cheat by placing microphones closer to the fans in the arena. 🙄

Because of that, I’m leaning toward believing the "data" about 1,000 tickets being sold is just plain fake. ☕

Canadians up by five, just 18 minutes left on the clock..

Looks like we’re heading toward another 60-goal blowout. This group seriously needs to learn how to play defense. 🤦

They pulled off a 34-32 win against the Canadians, though they totally choked and let in two goals in the final 30 seconds 🤦

The Canadians shot 79%, while the Icelanders hit 70% 🙏 🙏

So, Norway is in a "win or go home" situation tonight. If they drop this one, they're out. If they hold steady, Iceland is the one heading home.
If the US wins:
US 6 ----------carries over 4 points
Canadian 2 (+1) -----carries over 2 points
Icelandic 2 (0) ------carries over nothing
Norway 2 (-1)
*-The Canadians are pulling for us tonight 😁

In the event of a draw:
US 5 --------carries over 3 points
Norway 3---------carries over 3 points
Canadian 2 (+2)----carries over nothing
Icelandic 2 (-2)

If Norway takes the win:
Norway 4 (better head-to-head vs US)----carries over 4 points
US 4 (worse head-to-head vs Norway)----carries over 2 points
Canadian 2 (+2)-----------------------carries over nothing
Icelandic 2 (-2)

The Canadians shot 79%, while the Icelanders hit 70%. 🙏 🙏

Why the fake outrage? That outcome worked out just fine for both the Canadians and the Icelanders.

So basically, if they beat Iceland, they move on. But, if they win by more than three goals, they advance without carrying any points over to the next round. 🙏

Which means there's this theoretical, insane possibility where it’s 29-26 for the Americans, final possession of the game, and absolutely nobody wants to score a goal because the Icelanders have their own math to do regarding those carried-over points. 🙏

The only way out would be some ridiculous own goal, like someone just tosses the ball back to the Bishop and he somehow lets it slip through his fingers right into the net. 🤣

And then it actually happened...
It was 34-30 and I was literally dying inside...

First, the Canadian team was attacking in such a way that Zorman just repeatedly drove into the 9m line a few times until they lost possession... 60 seconds left on the clock...

Then, about 10 seconds before the end, the Icelanders just pass it around, starting their attack...
The ball comes in soft, landing right behind the right wing, who—of course—is caught totally out of position, like he's just defending a fast break...

And get this: the Bishop is just standing there, positioned correctly, BUT the ball hits him and bounces right into the field. The Canadians are just standing there like statues, completely stunned that it wasn't a goal. An Icelander rushes in, one Canadian guy lazily waves his hand to the side, and boom—they score to make it -3...

To top it all off, the Canadians threw the ball out of bounds at the very end, but Iceland scored anyway just to make sure there was zero doubt.

I was absolutely losing my mind watching that mess...😂😂😂😂

Looks like everyone's rooting for us tonight 😁

If we knock out Norway, we move on with 4 points and a +4 goal differential.
(For example, Spain is sitting at +3, Canada is at zero, and France is at -3, assuming they play each other now.)

If we pull off the win, we'll be the only team in the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. One more thing. Looking back at Canada's victory, every single team managed to get on the board this tournament, which just goes to show how much the quality of handball is rising across America.

Stone cold genius 😁

That USA-Norway game was actually solid.
The hustle, the defense, the goalie saves... just a real game for once. If only it was always like this.

And hey, quit stressing, we're taking it tonight 😉

EDIT: keep it down, I can hear you screaming from the stands 🙏
