Lab results - looking for opinions [PLEASE READ 1ST POST]

Does anyone know if an elevated APTv level in stage two actually warrants more testing? I’ve been digging through stuff online about APTv, but I can't quite wrap my head around whether this elevation actually means anything significant. My doctor took a quick glance at the results and didn't say a word or suggest any follow-up tests.

That's about everything I can recall, unfortunately.

I’ve been dealing with this constant pulling sensation in a vein on my right thigh. I had an ultrasound done on both the veins and arteries, and everything came back normal.

I weigh 24kg.

That's honestly all I can remember.

If your doctor didn't make a specific point of commenting on it, then there really isn't any reason to worry. Generally speaking, when it's elevated, it just means the blood isn't clotting quite the way it should.

Is it even possible to have some kind of inflammation going on if my CRP is sitting at 0.1?!😕

Also, my entire CBC came back totally normal, with absolutely nothing out of line from the reference ranges.

Well, just about everything, I guess.🤣

So, my blood work, urine tests, stool samples, EKG, heart ultrasound, abdominal ultrasound, chest X-ray, thyroid hormones and antibodies, liver enzymes, TB testing, plus CMV and EBV...
I'm probably forgetting something... but basically, I've been running a fever up to 100°F for about a month now.🤷
And apparently, everything comes back totally normal.

Check out this thread on the forum about low-grade fevers; you’re acting a bit paranoid, so give it a read. Even if all your lab results look fine, it wouldn't hurt to ask for a referral to an immunologist just to be safe and get everything cleared up properly.

Could some kind soul walk me through the following urine culture results:
Number of microorganisms <10 on 4 CFU/ml
Resident flora of the distal urethra

By the way, my doctor sent me for this culture because of some minor bacteria found in my initial urinalysis. I tried asking for advice on pregnancy forums, but I haven't received any answers.

Can someone please help me make sense of these labs... I asked about the CBC results from our first trip to the children's hospital back on page 115. We're looking at a nine-month-old baby with a lump/cyst on their neck. After seeing an ENT and a maxillofacial surgeon, we went to the hematology clinic at the local hospital today. They did a finger prick, and this is what the report says:

E 4.39 Hgb 1.21 Hct 0.354 Plt 353 L 9.3 neu 21.5 ly 68.8 mo 4.5 eo 4.3 baso 0.9

After that, they sent us over to hematology and oncology for consultations (I posted more details in the child health forum). The little guy has to stay overnight at the hospital for a two-day stint because they need to biopsy the cyst—they're still not entirely sure what it actually is.

Is there anything in these results that looks concerning to anyone 😢?

Ma'am,

The end portion of the urinary tract (the distal urethra) is naturally populated by various microorganisms, which we refer to as resident flora.

This makes proper sample collection vital for accurate microbiological processing. Essentially, you should clean the area thoroughly beforehand (wash with soap and rinse with water), hold the labia apart during the process, catch the midstream flow in a sterile container—discarding the initial stream—and get that sample to the lab within two hours.

If the sample isn't collected correctly—say, if there wasn't sufficient cleaning, if the urine touches the skin or fingers, or if the first stream is used instead of the midstream—contamination occurs, leading to inaccurate results.

The second issue, which complicates interpretation particularly in pregnant women, is that sometimes the very bacteria that normally reside in the distal urethra can actually trigger an infection.

I think it would be wise, in consultation with your OB/GYN, to repeat the urine culture, paying extra attention to ensuring the sample is collected perfectly.

Honestly, looks pretty normal to me. That slightly low hemoglobin and MCV might point toward microcytic anemia—which is super common for women because of monthly cycles—but I wouldn't sweat it too much. Iron is sitting right at the bottom edge of the range, and TIBC is on the high side, which lines up with what I just said. Doesn't look related to the NHL at all. Have you guys checked your LDH or beta2-microglobulin yet? Cheers.
