It wasn't moved, because I would’ve noticed if it had been.
It probably just got nuked. It was posted as a PDF earlier today under "Politics Adjacent," then vanished after a little while.

I didn't get any strikes or an explanation for why the thread disappeared. So, yeah, I guess I'm back here asking you for help again..

A moderator doesn't necessarily have to issue a ban or a warning to clear out a post or a thread. It’s obvious they decided simply deleting the thread was enough without needing further disciplinary action.

For a more detailed explanation, you can send a PM to one of the moderators for that specific subforum or start a formal complaint on the Message Appeals subforum.

My thread got nuked twice without any explanation. I even tried tweaking the content, thinking maybe that was the issue, but no luck. I reached out to a mod to ask why, but just got ghosted...

Since we’re talking about messages, I've gotta ask: does the moderation team (or anyone else running this site) have the ability to snoop on private DMs between users? Including chats with a mod?
Do they actually have access to that stuff?

I'd like to think privacy is actually guaranteed here, but who knows.

This isn't about technical support for Reddit. There's a specific subforum for "Suggestions and Feedback" for stuff like this.

Steven Allen9 said:Since I brought up messages, I'm curious—can the moderation staff (or anyone else on the Reddit team) read private messages sent between users, including those sent to a moderator?
Do they have access to that?

I assumed privacy was actually guaranteed here.

Only the sender and recipient can see private messages. In extreme cases, admins can view them if one party reports a message.

Please read the FAQ thoroughly:
http://www.reddit.com/r/askreddit
It is quite pointless to explain things individually when they are already covered in the FAQ.

My bad, thought I could knock this out faster and easier.

No need to apologize... But that's exactly why we have an FAQ. It exists so people don't have to answer the same basic questions over and over again.

Jacob Foster11 said:Only the people sending or receiving private messages can see them. Administrators only step in if someone reports a message.

That’s only half true.

See, the root admin—basically anyone with database access—can read your private messages. I mean, who would actually bother doing that? Why would they even want to? But yeah, it’s possible.
If you want actual privacy (at least here), just encrypt your messages.

Basically, the root admin—the one with database access—can read private messages. Honestly, I have no idea who would actually bother doing that or why, but if it's possible, it's possible.
The only foolproof method (at least on this forum) is to encrypt your messages.

True.

Basically, the root admin—the guy with full database access—can read your private messages. I mean, who’d actually bother doing that and why? But if you're asking if it's possible, yeah, it's possible.
The only way to be sure (at least on this forum) is to encrypt your messages.

Encrypting means scrambling them, right?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but isn't the owner of Reddit making money here?
Just wondering if there's any real business incentive behind all this, since they're pulling in ad revenue anyway, aren't they?

My thread got nuked again, and once more, I didn't get a single word of explanation.
What the hell is the point?!
I’m seriously starting to think about moving to another platform...

Anyone know who pulled this stunt and what the deal is?

Wrong subforum. I already told you, appeals don't go here; they go to the one right below this one. You won't get any answers to those kinds of questions in this section.

Is it possible to create a second account on Reddit using a new username while keeping my old one? Basically, can I run two different profiles from just one email address?

Yes, you can maintain multiple accounts on the forum simultaneously, provided each one is registered with its own unique email address. However, you are strictly prohibited from using multiple accounts to participate in the same discussion thread. Additionally, you cannot use any alternate accounts—or "clones"—to bypass a ban while any of your accounts are currently suspended.

Can you break this down for me;
"..Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page.."

Is there some kind of rule on Reddit where you can't activate an account if two different email addresses are coming from the same IP address?

How much of a headache is it for a mod to change a thread title just because a user asks?
Basically, if someone messes up a title and wants it fixed, does that actually take a lot of work, or is it just a matter of whether the mod feels like doing it right then?

Modding titles is a thing people do, right?

It’ll take you all of two seconds... just reach out to the moderator for that subforum.

So, how exactly does the hierarchy work with you mods?

Is there actually a head moderator in charge, or is everyone on the same level (and I'm not even talking about the super mods)?

For instance—if you and I were both moderators—how would that play out? Could I slap you with a warning, or could you give me one?

I mean, theoretically, I could ban you and you could ban me...

I honestly don't get any of this... 😵

All moderators are on equal footing and lack the authority to issue warnings to one another. If a moderator feels another needs to be cited, they must contact an admin or a senior manager to handle it. The admin or senior manager then evaluates whether the warning is warranted before proceeding with the action.
