I’m kind of torn between Fight Club and Se7en, but honestly, I think the first one takes it by just a hair... I really need to give it another watch sometime.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched Fight Club. But honestly? As I get older, it just doesn't hit the same way anymore. To be fair, I still think Palahniuk’s book is way better than the movie itself...
I haven't seen Button watched nearly as often as Fight Club, but it might actually be my favorite. Call me a softie, but whatever...
I never really got the whole hype surrounding Se7en as this "ultimate" masterpiece. It’s not bad by any means, but it doesn't blow me away more than something like The gama or Panic Room, you know?

I'd have to vote for Zodiac. In my book, it’s the most well-crafted film out of the bunch. I don't love it quite as much as Benjamin or Fight Club—those two are just such cool concepts—but Zodiac is just a damn good piece of filmmaking. It actually makes sense, I guess. 🙂

She cast her vote for Fight Club, mostly because none of his other ideas even come close to that level of brilliance.

Seven. I was torn between that and The gama, but Seven has an atmosphere so heavy you just have to give it the vote.

I’m casting my vote for the game. Honestly, I had the absolute best time watching that one, even if you look at it objectively and realize it might not be the absolute pinnacle of cinema.

I mean, Se7en... you just don't see endings quite like that in every movie, I guess.😁

I ended up voting for The gama for that exact same reason.

I’d cast my vote for alien, but if we're talking about his absolute peak performance to date, I’ve gotta go with Se7en... it's wolves versus sheep, and the wolves are winning by a landslide. 😁

It’s a dead heat between Seven and Fight Club for me.😁

Anyway, here’s my personal top five:
1. Seven (my absolute favorite because it's simply unbeatable. Fight Club is a genius classic too, but let's be honest...)
2. Fight Club
3. The game
4. The social Network
5. Everything else

I've watched Seven so many times at this point—it’s basically burned into my brain.🤣 I just can't get that "first time" feeling out of it anymore.
Benjamin says it's a great movie, sure, but way too long and drags in parts.

Aside from Zodiac, nothing really hit home for me.🤷

So yeah, I'm still putting my money on Zodiac.😁

Man, my absolute favorite director... I’m seriously torn between Se7en and Zodiac. Given how much one is outpolling the other, plus the fact that I just rewatched it and realized what an absolute masterpiece it is, I’m putting my money on Zodiac.

It feels like the project where Fincher poured his entire soul into the craft, and you can totally feel that intensity once the first 20 minutes grab you by the throat and don't let go. Honestly, I’ve got this gut feeling even Fincher would call it his finest work.

Fight Club - no matter how many times I sit through this one, I always end up spotting something new, something sharper, something better... and don't even get me started on the acting and the script. It just keeps getting better with age...

Believe it or not, I get that same feeling about Alien. A total masterpiece, damn it. 🤷

Se7en is definitely 🙏

though I have to admit—it was a pretty tough call deciding between Se7en, Fight Club, and Zodiac 😍

Everyone knows that during the making of Alien, Fincher was working under basically impossible conditions, and the studio ended up hacking out huge chunks of his vision anyway, so I honestly doubt he looks back on that movie with anything but frustration...

Regardless of all that, I think the third Alien gets way too much hate. It has these flashes of absolute genius, especially that final scene where Ripley takes herself and the Queen down in a suicide mission—it’s the perfect way to end the series. A perfect ending that they absolutely had to ruin by forcing another sequel onto us.

Fincher—my great, unrequited love.

I think I first truly grasped his essence back with Alien; even though he wasn't officially behind the camera on that one, you can still feel his unmistakable touch throughout the film.

To my mind, Se7en stands as the finest film produced in the last twenty or thirty years—honestly, I was expecting a new masterpiece on the level of Alfred Hitchcock.

Now, Game is an excellent piece of cinema, but it falls just slightly short of Se7en; I felt a minor sense of disappointment, if I’m being completely honest.

Then there is Fight Club. I have never been so profoundly let down by a film in my entire life—never, I swear it.

From there, it’s mostly just decent stuff, leading up to The Social Network, which I actually found quite compelling.

David, I truly hope your absolute best work is still ahead of you. If your next project matches the quality of Se7en, I’ll personally pay for a mass in your honor—I promise.

Lately, I’ve developed a bit of a fixation on Del Toro.☕

It honestly makes me a little melancholy when I sit back and look at everything Fincher has put out there—it’s genuinely tough to pick a single standout.
If I had to choose, my vote would go to Se7en, though I could easily justify picking Zodiac, Fight Club, The Social Network, Benjamin Button, or even Panic Room... I really don't think you could go wrong with any of them!

I mean, without even thinking about it... Se7en
