The EU isn't primarily, secondarily, or even tangentially a concert promoter. Consequently, I doubt the Music Hall’s budget is anything remotely impressive.
Why would a major US university risk spending upwards of $100,000—which is my amateur guess for bringing in a mid-tier headliner once you factor in logistics and promo... :nezna🙂—on something that clearly falls outside the EU's core mission? Before this thread started, I thought the question was pretty self-explanatory...
But let’s not let the valid, well-reasoned principles of the hardworking EU staff block us from helping them the best way we know how... through wise words and constructive advice!
I’m skeptical that management will listen to any actual logic when they can just fall back on arguments like, "God, it'll sell out! The forum thread is already three pages deep, and that little one from TEVA blew up. A feature on ESPN could happen! HA?" We have to dig deeper and push harder.
I’ve been looking at various US non-profits that host events attracting tiny crowds while maintaining massive overhead costs (www.nfl.com www.philharmonics.org) and I've reached a clear conclusion.
The Music Hall needs a heavy-hitting sponsor... a powerful Partner capable of funding an increasingly ambitious musical lineup, because indie and electro acts shouldn't have to pack their bags and leave the country just to find a stage.
And rather than just talking about it, I'll demonstrate the synergistic effect of my (modestly described as solid) expertise in typography and Photoshop.
