I've heard people say Bastaić is pretty great. Honestly, I haven't heard a single bad thing about him yet.

I am giving a huge upvote to rustygardener172—honestly, it’s wild how some girls who had massive, prominent noses just yesterday expect to wake up looking like a perfect Barbie doll after surgery. It’s totally unrealistic, and if you ask me, it borders on being as much of an obsession as anorexia.🙄

For me, getting my nose done was primarily about function; I needed it fixed because it was deviated to the left, though obviously, I wanted it to look better too. But right from the start, I made it very clear to my surgeon that I wanted to preserve my natural expression—I wanted to enhance who I am, not transform into a complete stranger.

Grace Thompson34 said:I definitely agree that chasing an absolutely "perfect" nose is a lost cause since perfection doesn't exist. However, I really feel like many doctors act in a way that is frankly beneath their profession. You shouldn't be able to string someone along for a year and a half, constantly giving them different excuses... Does anyone here actually have experience with the Edumed clinic? And does anyone know of a truly skilled surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty in a major US city (as long as it isn't Glumičić, Ostojić, or Kinčl)?

Sorry, but why are you still insisting on seeing this specific doctor when it's so obvious they don't want to operate on you? Maybe they feel they can't achieve the result you want, which is why they keep stalling? If that's the case, isn't it more honest of them to just say no rather than dragging things out?

It’s honestly starting to get on my nerves how people jump in, read maybe two recent posts, and then immediately start flooding the thread with questions about recommendations and pricing. If you actually want to know something, take the initiative to read through the last twenty pages, or honestly, the entire discussion thread.🙄

I am getting so tired of receiving the same repetitive private messages over and over again. So, please, for the love of everything, just read the existing info first, and then if something is still unclear, feel free to ask.

I’m on the same page as Sophia Hill22🙂
It isn't even the surgery itself that gets to me—it's the aftermath. I'm terrified of how I'll react once it's all over, especially since I've been dealing with this chronic sore throat for years now and nobody can give me a straight answer. They just shrug and say it's allergies or some other nonsense...
But honestly, this really matters to me...

Sophia Hill22, look, the whole thing is just... it's frustrating. This doctor was so eager to operate at first, right? He kept saying he could definitely do it, he just wanted to wait a bit for some time to pass... and now? Now he’s just making up these ridiculous excuses and acting totally unprofessional. Not even mentioning how rude and completely unprofessional the nurse was being, too. I really pushed for him to be my surgeon because I genuinely thought he was an expert, especially since he told me himself he could pull it off—that's why I insisted! And honestly, I just saw that old scandal involving Stanec in the news... this guy acts like he's better than everyone else, almost like he's judging procedures just for the sake of aesthetics, yet he went and opened his own private clinic with absolutely insane prices. It's so obvious he's only in it for the money. Such a hypocrite, seriously.

Kate Taylor59 - that’s exactly why seeing an ENT specialist is your best bet—they’re the experts for both your nose and your throat, so they can see the whole picture. 😁

It’s actually quite possible that your throat issues are being triggered by how you're breathing through your nose. When you go in for your consultation, make sure to walk the doctor through everything you've been learning and how your body is reacting; that way, you can get ahead of it and prevent these problems from escalating.

I remember after my own surgery, my throat felt a little tender on one side during the second day. Luckily, I managed to soothe it by using some Chloraseptic spray—I just used it once in the morning and once at night—and I stayed incredibly hydrated by sipping on chamomile tea and rosehip tea with plenty of lemon and honey all day long.

Honestly, after acting like that, I wouldn't go back to Stanec even if they were giving everything away for free.

Sorry, Grace Thompson34—I think I misunderstood you before. It’s definitely a good idea to get consultations from several different people, but based on what I’ve been reading here on the forums (and seeing what happens with celebrities), I pretty much crossed Glumicic, Kinčl, and Ostojić off my list right from the start.

I actually went to see Bedeković over in the downtown area—I had heard nothing but great things about him initially—but just as I was thinking about booking a follow-up, I kept hearing about these really terrible experiences people were having. Honestly, I’ve started steering clear of the big hospitals altogether; I have this nagging feeling they care more about their own reputation and "mythology" than actual patient care, and since so many doctors run private practices on the side, it feels like they just "process" you through the hospital quickly. With my tendency to overthink everything, I just wasn't willing to take that risk.

That left me with Bastaić, Glušac, and Tončić (though I did mark Tončić down as a negative because of that whole mess involving the anesthesia scandal). Since Glušac is based out in a coastal city like Miami, I decided to head to Bastaić first instead—I really liked his approach, and looking back, I think I made the right call.😁

I didn't bother doing much digging into people like Stanec or Džepina, mostly because there isn't much chatter about them on the boards anyway.🤷

I’ve been doing a ton of my own "research" trying to figure out which doctors actually know their stuff when it comes to rhinoplasty. I really wanted to hear some real-life stories about nose jobs... honestly, I've heard some pretty scary things about Bedeković. On the other hand, Džepina seems like a solid surgeon to me. Are you happy with how everything turned out after your surgery with Bastaić?

I am seriously losing my mind having to reply to the same exact private messages over and over again. So, please, for the love of God—read first, then ask if something is still unclear.

It’s like they have no clue the "find more posts by..." feature even exists.
If you see someone making a post that interests you and you want more details from them, do this: click on their username—let's say "Sophia Hill22"—then hit that option to "find more posts by Sophia Hill22." Only once you've exhausted everything they've already shared should you bother asking a question. Otherwise, you just look completely clueless, like, "Is everyone here out of their minds?!" 😕

You won't be able to eat anything hard for at least two weeks, especially anything crunchy. Your nose is going to stay swollen for a while. You won't see the actual results of the surgery for six months, and honestly, it rarely turns out exactly how people picture it in their heads. People end up disappointed, so you really need to think this through.🤷

....none of that is true...☕

Honestly, people just love to talk... For instance, when I had to go in for a gastroscopy, I read horror stories from about 80% of the people online. It actually freaked me out quite a bit. But once I actually got it over with? I was just sitting there laughing at myself for being such a fool.
It just goes to show how everyone experiences things totally differently, despite what all the noise says.

The surgery doesn't hurt... you get anesthesia. 😉

Recovery isn't exactly a party... But it isn't about the pain...It didn't work on my end, either... Another embarrassment... Well, damn... you've got a tampon shoved up your nose.

I haven't taken a single painkiller since the surgery... that should tell you everything you need to know about how much it hurts...

The undergarments look hideous, but they don't cause any pain...

It won't even cross your mind for two weeks... What a load of garbage... I ate that stuff for the second day in a row.

I fail to grasp your objective here—is it simply to alarm people with disinformation and constant worst-case scenarios?...

I was just sitting here thinking about the pain after surgery...🙄Only you know how that felt for you... Personally, I found breaking my arm much easier to handle than nose surgery. And who exactly are you to speak for me? Speak for yourself... When did I ever claim that bruises hurt? Good grief...🤣🤣Of course they don't hurt. It just varies by person... some drag on forever, while others pass by in a flash...☕It was far too crunchy for my liking. It actually caused me physical discomfort... my nose was aching from it. If you found it enjoyable, you likely just have an incredible immune system or a much higher pain tolerance than I do. Regardless, I won't be speaking for you...👎

Personally, I dealt with a broken arm way more easily than I did nose surgery... so maybe let's not pretend you know my business. Who are you to speak for me anyway? Just speak for yourself. And besides, when did I ever say anything about ribs hurting? Good grief...🤣🤣Of course they don't hurt—it's just that for some people, they drag on forever while others breeze right through them...☕It was way too crunchy for me—honestly, it actually made my nose ache... If you had such a great experience, then maybe you just have an insane immune system or a crazy high pain tolerance. Either way, I’m not going to speak for you...👎

jadedriver0, I'm with you on this one. It’s not some minor detail like everyone else here keeps claiming it is... 🤷

I have zero patience for sugarcoating. Things should be stated plainly and honestly, though obviously, everyone's experience varies. My recovery from surgery hasn't been pleasant, to say the least, and frankly, nobody has the right to speak for me or tell me how to feel 🙄. That said, I am satisfied with my nose. Glumičić took good care of me, but if he hadn't met me during the consultation, or if I’d had even the slightest bad feeling—just like Tatjana would have told him to get lost and found someone else... ☕

My experience with a gastroscopy was fine too. I had to get one checked for H. pylori and I was terrified because of all those bad stories I’d heard. But honestly, those same people ended up helping me with advice. I just breathed through my mouth, didn't fight the tube, stayed calm, and tried to focus on something pleasant the whole time...👍

jadedriver0 - honey, please, stop talking 🙄

you really spoke on behalf of everyone —I mean, you were basically telling this girl how much pain she’d be in and how long she wouldn't be able to eat solid food, blah blah blah. You're just generalizing your own experience to scare people. Maybe take another look at exactly what you wrote before you start acting so high and mighty

And for the record, I don't have a high pain tolerance either; when I'm in pain from anything, I can barely get out of bed. But this wasn't quite that bad for me. The fact is, it's uncomfortable, but honestly, what else do you expect? It's surgery, after all.

Having read this entire thread from top to bottom, your specific experience is actually the exception, not the rule. I will concede that if someone puts their life in the hands of an incompetent doctor and ends up with an infection or something similar, that is definitely not a normal outcome for nose surgery.

I imagine I felt the exact same way, stormyharbor86—and I wasn't suggesting that a girl with a crooked nose should just settle for whatever mediocre result comes her way, as you so beautifully put it. My point was simply that one needs to realize that human anatomy isn't like playing with modeling clay; you aren't going to walk away with a perfect "catalog" result without some level of impact on your health or aesthetics, regardless of whether you see a specialist like MJ or Nikolin Pišek.

And honestly, what does any of this have to do with the US? If I had to guess, I'd say you're thinking of those certain celebrities who all seem to have the same tiny noses, pointy chins, and massive triple-D chests.
