They pulled my tampons out the next day, just like pretty much everyone else at those private clinics.

I only had the tampons in for one day... once they pulled them out (and put the mold in at the same time), I could finally breathe through my nose for a few hours, but then it just clogged right back up. I was using some nasal drops my doctor recommended, but my nose was so stuffed that the second I stood up, everything would just leak out... honestly, even now, I have zero clue what the point of those drops even was! 😁 After four days, I went back for a follow-up—cleaning out my nose, getting the mold removed, putting on the tape... and again, I could breathe! But then, a few hours later, it felt blocked all over again... so for the next four days, I was basically "breathing" through this half-open airway until my next check-up where they cleaned me out and took the tape off... that's when things actually started feeling somewhat normal (so, about nine days post-op). Before that, I wasn't really breathing; I was more like gasping through gills. 😁 For those first three or four days, I was definitely strictly mouth-breathing.

Hey everyone😍! I have a quick question—if anyone knows the answer, could you let me know? I really don't feel like digging through all the old threads myself🙄
Does getting a deviated septum repair plus a little bit of rhinoplasty cost extra? I've got a deviated septum and my nose is a bit larger than I'd like, so I’m looking to get it fixed. I was just wondering how the billing actually works, because I feel like I hear so many different things about it... thanks😬

So, I’ve been seeing people toss around all sorts of conflicting info lately regarding nose jobs—specifically when you're looking at fixing a deviated septum while also wanting to tweak the aesthetics. It's one of those topics where everyone seems to have a different "expert" opinion, which is just great, isn't it? If you're dealing with a deviated septum that actually messes with your breathing, plus you're eyeing some cosmetic adjustments because, let's face it, life is too short to be unhappy with your profile, here is the deal: insurance usually only plays ball with the functional stuff. If a doctor determines the deviation is a medical necessity to fix your airway, your insurance provider might cover the septoplasty portion. However, once you start talking about the purely aesthetic side—the "I want this shape to look better" part—that’s almost always coming out of your own pocket. In many US surgical centers, they’ll bundle the procedures, but they will definitely itemize them on your bill. You'll likely see one charge for the medical necessity and a separate, additional fee for the cosmetic work. It's basically like going to a mechanic to fix a broken engine component, but then asking them to give the car a custom paint job at the same time. They'll do it, sure, but you aren't getting the paint job covered by your auto insurance. My advice? Get a consultation and ask specifically for a breakdown of what is "medical" versus "cosmetic." Don't let anyone give you a vague "it depends" without showing you the math. It can get pricey fast if you aren't careful.😬

It really just boils down to whichever doctor you end up seeing.

Does combining a septoplasty with a rhinoplasty incur extra fees? I’m dealing with a deviated septum and also want to tweak the shape of my nose a bit, so I’m looking to get both done at once. I’d love to know how the billing actually works because I keep hearing conflicting things about it. Thanks!😬

I'm going through the exact same thing...😢

I doubt they actually care about the cost. It’s just those isolated monsters parading around. I don't get the point when everyone knows it isn't yours. It was particularly stupid to do it right before giving birth, like my ex did. Her skin stretched and everything just sagged completely🤮, honestly pathetic😢. And she wasn't even breastfeeding. Imagine if she had been. Not to mention how her husband, mother-in-law, and friends all looked down on her because of it.

😳 I washed mine twice within the first few days. Couldn't you have just done it under the shower or something?🤷

I leaned over and this sharp pain just gripped the top of my nose. Nothing on the bottom. I just thought, "fuck it,"🙄 it’s not going to fall out. I shampooed twice during those first couple of weeks until I felt better, and there was no damage at all—and my hair is crazy long...😛😁

I've been scrolling through some of your posts... and I have to wonder; seriously, did every single one of your friends get surgery or something? 😂

She shampooed her hair twice during those few weeks when I was still feeling under the weather, and there wasn't even a hint of damage... and my hair is long enough to drive me crazy.😛😁

I was just standing there in the shower thinking—you really have to stand perfectly straight, not hunching your head at all... It’s not even about my hair getting messy; I could go ages without washing it if I had to. It’s just that since I was running a fever, that water felt so incredibly good... it was the only thing keeping me refreshed those days...

I had a deviated septum—so I went under the knife—and since my nasal pyramid was also a bit wonky (meaning a larger, irregular nose with a prominent hump😁), they decided to address that as well.
As for how it looks aesthetically? Honestly, who knows—I’m still stuck wearing a splint.

If you don't mind me asking, who performed your surgery?
I went in for a follow-up the other day and, naturally, I’ve got bilateral deviation plus a frontal nasal fracture that resulted in this hump—not to mention chronically swollen mucosa. For now, they've put me on Claritin tablets and Flonase spray, and I'm just waiting for the next check-up to see what the plan is regarding surgery. To be honest, I was examined by this young doctor with such an odd name that I can't even recall it.😂

Anyway, word on the street is that Mladin is sending everything through perfectly fine now😳 whereas back when he was working at the Salad place, he was completely against it🤷—and the doctor who saw me actually told me that if it were up to Mladin, he’d have scheduled my surgery immediately.😲

So, he was featured on some major news magazine... apparently he spent eleven whole hours operating on some woman. Like, ELEVEN hours! OMG. I was actually lying right there on the operating table—the anesthesiologist was literally getting me ready—and the TV was turned on just as that segment came on. You wouldn't believe the looks and the comments from the surgical team in the room at that moment...🤣

So, I finally caved and washed my hair after a few days... and yeah, I did that whole awkward thing where you're hunched over the sink like a gargoyle just to get it done. Honestly, sometimes it feels like more work than it's worth. 😁

I figured I’d weigh in with my own experience here. I spent about ten years agonizing over whether or not to go through with surgery. Now that it’s all behind me, I actually regret waiting so long; it would have been nice to ditch that massive complex much sooner.
Now, unlike some of the noses being discussed on this forum, mine actually required surgical intervention—and I’m certainly not judging anyone else’s reasons for wanting one.
The truth is, I had a genuinely unattractive nose. Honestly, if my nose had a twin, it would be Zlatan Ibrahimović 😂. Just picture an oversized, ruggedly masculine nose sitting on a woman's face... just awful.
It wasn't until my consultations that I realized I needed more than just cosmetic work. I had a deviated septum and cartilage that had essentially "shifted" to the right, making my right nostril significantly smaller. Until then, I just assumed that was perfectly normal. 😂
My only real fear leading up to the procedure was the idea of waking up mid-surgery, a panic I picked up from reading this thread, haha.
The surgery itself, while a bit more complicated than expected, went off without a hitch. Aside from the initial needle prick in my vein
, I didn't feel any pain. However, my recovery wasn't quite as seamless as it was for some of you. I had a rougher time with the anesthesia; I ended up vomiting blood twice, though I was back to eating beef patties immediately after. 😂 My bruising lasted longer than average—about twenty days—and even now, there's still a hint of yellowing where the hematomas were. I dealt with low blood pressure, and that dizzy, "swimming" sensation in my head hung on for about fifteen days. Around day twenty, one of my stitches became inflamed, and my face—specifically my forehead—started swelling up. Normally, I don't have issues with swelling. And the tampon removal? Let's just say I wasn't lucky. It was incredibly sharp, intense pain, though thankfully it passed quickly. Breathing through my mouth wasn't a major struggle at all. The hardest part of the whole recovery process was sleeping on my back, simply because I'm not used to it.
As for the results, I'd say I'm about 80% satisfied. I'm hoping that remaining 20% will settle in as time passes. Even though it's been over a month, my nose is still quite swollen, and I feel like I'm healing much slower than the others. I gave my surgeon three specific requests: don't make it too small (like B. Vlašić), don't tip it up too high (again, like B. Vlašić), and don't make it look overly "saddle-shaped." I think he respected those boundaries.
Regarding the surgical team, I have nothing but praise; they get a huge thumbs up from me. 👍 Oh, almost forgot—I had the procedure done by Dr. Glušac in Makarska.
All things considered, even with those little post-op hurdles, if you asked me if I'd do it all over again, the answer is an absolute yes. 😁

I'll send photos via private message. If anyone has more questions, feel free to ask. 😉

I used to work a public-facing job for a while where you’d run into plenty of "celebrities." I put that word in quotes intentionally, because most of those people didn't even have a dime to their name...😂😂😂😂

I honestly envy how quickly you're bouncing back. 😉It sounds pretty rough, honestly, but I finally managed to get my hair washed after a whole week—and even then, it was a massive struggle. I only pulled it off because my mom stepped in to help me out. 😁I was honestly terrified I’d mess up the flasters and have them just peel right off—God forbid. And there was no way I could focus on getting them settled properly; my blood pressure was spiking and I had this bizarre, unsettling sensation in my head.

I didn't bother setting it up properly beforehand, and now I've gone and screwed it up...👎Does anyone know if mine might actually firm up? My sister’s breasts grew and filled out beautifully after she finished breastfeeding, even though she used to be completely flat... maybe there's hope for me too...🙏😍
