My apologies for being lazy. That is quite a steep price. Has anyone checked what the costs look like abroad? Maybe in Mexico, Canada, Switzerland, or Germany?

ironsurfer10 said:rustygardener172, what kind of price did he actually give you? If I’m not happy with how the surgery turns out, my backup plan is either Tony Stark or Dr. Glück—though I'd probably go with Tony first since he's right here in NYC.

Believe it or not... I didn't even bother asking him what it costs. 🙂 I know he usually runs about 10,000 to 11,000 $0.00, which makes him cheaper than most of the other guys... so, if I was already mentally prepared to drop 15k on Tony Stark $0.00... I'll definitely have enough left over for Dr. Glück 😉.

@Papa Strumpf... honestly, I have zero clue about how things work in other countries.

Hi everyone!
It looks like this topic is catching a lot of interest, and since so many people are weighing the option of nose surgery, I suppose I am too... I've been reading through a ton of posts, and it seems like everyone has such wildly different experiences, whether good or bad... What I’m actually focused on—and obviously the most critical part—is choosing the surgeon. I’m currently torn between Dr. Smith, Tony Stark, and Dr. Miller... I’ve read quite a bit about the first two, but I know very little about Dr. Miller. What drew me to him is that everyone I've come across seems to have had great results, even though it doesn't seem like he's a "big name" that everyone rushes to see. To me, that might actually be an advantage, I guess... Does anyone here know more about his work?
I’ve also read that sometimes the most complicated cases aren't the major reconstructions, but rather the people just looking to tweak a minor detail, like myself...😢 In my opinion, my nose is just a bit too long and pointy for my face shape... It would be a relatively small correction, but it would mean a lot to me personally, as I wouldn't say I was born with a massive amount of natural self-confidence..😛 If you all are interested, I could post a photo so you can judge for yourselves...
Anyway, I’ve finally made up my mind and I'm planning to go this winter, so I’ll be sure to keep you all updated on how everything unfolds!

I would truly appreciate it if someone could weigh in on my question! 🙂

I finally made it home today. I have nothing but praise for the surgical center, especially the nursing staff—they were all absolutely wonderful! Dr. Stark was a little disappointing in terms of his bedside manner, but he seems to have done a solid job with the actual procedure. He didn't quite achieve everything I had envisioned, but my nose definitely looks more lifted and my nostrils seem a bit narrower; you can really see a difference, which is good. I still have bandages on, so I can't check my profile to see if that tiny bump is gone. It was such a minuscule thing that it didn't really bother me aesthetically, but I’ll find out how everything looks this Wednesday once the dressings are off.

As for the bruising, I didn't have any on the day of the surgery. They started showing up the next day—small purple patches under my eyes that turned green, and now they've reached a stage of being almost fluorescent yellow 😁 honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they started glowing in the dark 🤣

So, right now, I need to rinse my nose with saline and use some Caparison drops (which are actually intended for eyes and ears, so I'm a bit confused why I'm using them now, but oh well, I guess he knows what he's doing). Regarding the saline—do I need to drop the saline into my nose and then lie down to let it sit there for a while, or am I just supposed to spray it into my nostrils with a syringe over the sink?

Also, I am absolutely terrified that someone might bump into me on public transit or that my boyfriend might accidentally hit my nose. I've already managed to bump myself twice today! It's awful! 😲

ironsurfer10, did you have to wait a long time for your appointment and surgery? I emailed my referral and medical history since I don't live in the city. I sent it Thursday, called on Friday, and tried again all day today... but nobody picks up. No response to my email either.

I first placed my order on March 19th right after my initial checkup, and they initially scheduled me for April 26th. However, I wasn't going to be able to make that work, so I called them to push it back. I asked if I could just aim for sometime in the fall instead, and they were able to get me in on September 13th. Based on that, I'm not entirely sure what the exact wait times look like, but it seems like you might be looking at a month or two of waiting, potentially.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows where in the US I can get a laser septoplasty done using health insurance?

Is it actually possible for a nose that’s wide both at the bridge and the tip to look decent if you only fix the tip or the cartilage, while leaving those wider bone structures alone?

rustygardener172, where are you headed for this? Are they planning to do the surgery with a 😁 scalpel or a laser? Also, are you going through your insurance or paying out of pocket?
Give us a few more details 🙂

Everything you need is already laid out on this page and the previous one!
rustygardener172, best of luck—please reach out and let me know how it goes!!!!

It’s been 12 days since my surgery, and honestly, I’m not happy at all with the results they got with my nose. Because of that, my next move will definitely be either Dr. Tony Stark or Glück... once I've saved up enough cash.🙂

So you were happy with it at first, and now you aren't?🤷 Is there anyone else here who was actually satisfied right out of the gate? Because personally, I'm not looking to get my nose operated on multiple times... 😳

I mentioned earlier how happy I am with how they fixed my septum, rather than focusing on that "critical" part of my nose 🙂
I’ll post some before and after photos once the swelling goes down a little bit. My doctor told me my nose will still shift slightly as it settles into its final shape, so I’m going to be patient... honestly, it feels like the shape hasn't changed much, just the size. My goal was actually more about reshaping it than shrinking it.
As for that second procedure... I don't know. This first one wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be, and I realized there's really nothing to fear, so I won't feel embarrassed about going back for another round. Though, it might be a while before I save up enough to see a private specialist... or who knows, maybe I'll actually start liking my nose just the way it is now, haha 😉

I wouldn't give a damn about anything else as long as I had the cash. 😳 Yeah, from what I gather, you’ve gotta put in about six months of work before your physique actually starts looking the way it's supposed to...

Just wanted to check in and give a quick update... today is my first day post-op. The swelling and bruising finally kicked in today, but honestly? The pain isn't even a factor. I feel pretty great, even if I look like a total mess right now 😁
The surgery itself was a massive success! At least, that’s what the docs told me... everything functioned perfectly, which means the aesthetics are looking solid too—my nose is totally straight now. I actually got to see my nose this morning right after they pulled the tampons out but before they put the splint on... and oh my god, it looks stunning!! Even with all this swelling, I am absolutely loving it!!!!!! My mom was there with me through the whole thing, and she is completely obsessed! The entire medical team down in Santa Monica was incredible... I can't even pick just one person to single out because they were all so good. I was freaking out before the procedure—just pure, massive anxiety—but those four (the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, the nurse, and the tech) totally chilled me out and kept me laughing... seriously, nothing but praise for them! They are absolute gems!
If anyone else has questions about the process, feel free to ask anything...

Oh, really? I suppose I just keep stumbling onto the wrong corners of the internet because I've already read quite a bit of garbage online 😢 so I was honestly just curious about what he was actually like... anyway, thanks for the answer!

Honestly, it doesn't sound half bad... there's actually a decent amount of good stuff written about him. He was my top pick at first, but then life happened and a bunch of random circumstances just pushed him off my radar.

Gonna jump in here for a sec... I had my nose surgery with John Smith about 7 months ago and honestly, I have nothing but good things to say. The service was top-tier and I’m beyond happy with the results. He was my first choice and I definitely don't regret it. 🙂
