Quick question for the mods and admins...

So, I’ve gotta know—can I just call someone an idiot without getting slapped with an insult penalty? Like, not just avoiding a fine, but totally dodging even a warning? Is that actually possible? Because apparently, it is.

Here's the deal: this one person called me an idiot out of nowhere, then went on about how we're all just stupid. I fired back pretty hard, and yeah, I earned my 45 points... totally deserved it. But they didn't even get a warning! Even though they started it, and even though they called me an idiot personally for no reason at all.

The moderator actually told me that calling someone an idiot or stupidisnot actually an insult😕 and said she wouldn't punish them. So, can someone please explain if that's really how this works? There are plenty of people on this forum I’d love to tell are idiots... so if they can say it to me, does that mean I'm free to go around calling whoever I want stupid or an idiot without any fear?

Is this some new rule I missed?
Seriously, someone please let me know so I know if I can start hitting up different subforums and calling everyone I can't stand stupid and an idiot.

Me too. Honestly, if that’s how it works, I might just start making a list of users here to tell them exactly how much of an idiot they are. Then they’ll probably turn around and call me the idiot, but hey, the best part is knowing nobody’s gonna get punished for it. It’ll be total chaos in the threads—can't wait.

Man, I would never report someone. Honestly, I've never even reported an insult or anything like that, but I still ended up getting punished. I was actually being harsher than the person who insulted me, and yeah, I deserved it... but it makes you wonder, though—are words like idiot or "you're stupid" actually against the rules? Because if they aren't, then maybe I can get a little cheeky too...🤷

I’d never bother reporting someone—never have, never will—but I ended up getting penalized myself. I was actually sharper than the person who insulted me, and honestly, I deserved it. Still, it leaves you wondering: are terms like "idiot" or "you're stupid" actually bannable offenses? Because if they are, I might have a few things to say too.🤷

I report people—especially when they’re being insults for no reason. I wouldn't bother responding to that kind of nonsense, though—wouldn't want to sink down to an idiot's level.

In the future, just send complaints like this to the admin via DM—otherwise, you aren't going to achieve anything.

I just can't stand it—and honestly, they shouldn't be allowed to either. Every single part of society has to follow the Constitution, and that includes this damn forum.

Thanks, man. Good to know. Honestly, in all my time on this forum, this is only the second time I've ever reported anything, and the first time it was actually about me... once before, I flagged some racist comments, but they weren't directed at me personally.

I dunno, I just never bothered reporting people before. But now I'm kinda curious—am I actually allowed to call someone an idiot? Because man, I'd love to drop that on a few people. If it's not against the rules, then hey, I might just do it.
