Rachel Foster45 said:Well, that’s a bummer then... I guess it’s just one of those things that varies from person to person. Honestly, I really hope the bruising fades quickly for you so you can at least hide it with makeup. Maybe you’ll feel better once the whole ordeal settles down—I don’t know. Do you regret going through with it at all? I went out for the first time yesterday after my surgery and managed to cover everything with foundation... but everyone who saw me with the bruising kept teasing me, saying I looked like I’d been in a street fight 😁 though they aren't actually that bad, especially since I can just mask them...

No, I don't regret it. When I look at it, I'm actually happy, even if I thought this would be some massive life-altering transformation when it really isn't. I’ve decided it’s a win because I look better now and nobody even knows why 😁 and since I didn't have a huge complex about my nose to begin with, it’s a plus 😉 plus, breathing is much easier now!!! I don't have bruises per se, just dark circles under my eyes that I have to cover up with makeup (and I'm not exactly a fan of wearing foundation every single day), and even then, they still peek through a bit👎
The tip is still a little swollen, which is a bit annoying, but I suppose I should be grateful that I finally have nothing left to complain about 😛

Well, fine 😁 because you sounded like you were actually mourning something there... but honestly? It’s true. You look better, and people just don't get why 🙂 since neither you nor I probably had some massive nose to begin with that would make for a "huge" transformation... it's a subtle change, but a huge one at the same time, if you catch my drift... 🙂 And hey, don't sweat the bruising. They have to fade eventually... I hate having to layer on foundation every single day myself, so I'm counting down the minutes until these marks finally clear up 🙂

Well, that's great then. 😁 You sounded a little like you were mourning something there... but if we're being honest, you really do look better. It’s just that people don't seem to grasp what actually changed. 🙂 I mean, let's be real—neither of us was walking around with some massive nose that needed a total overhaul anyway. The change itself is subtle, sure, but it’s significant in its own way. If you know what I mean. 🙂 Don't sweat the dark circles too much. They’ll fade eventually... I mean, I’m not exactly a fan of caking on foundation every single morning either, so I’m just counting down the days until these shadows finally clear up. 🙂

No, no, no. I'm not sorry. Not even a little bit. 😁
I had an irregular, narrow nose before. It wasn't exactly a beauty pageant winner, but it wasn't ugly either—which I suppose is why this doesn't feel like much of a transformation. For people dealing with a majorly crooked or bumpy nose, I imagine this would feel like a total overhaul. For me? Not so much. 🙂 I'm happy for them, honestly. As for my little one, she’s small, but she's definitely cute.👍
Maybe one day I'll actually be able to step outside with a fresh face. 🙏😍🎉

Rachel Foster45 said:I honestly think it’s not just about which surgeon you pick, but how intense the procedure itself is... I mean, according to Tončić, yours is a 10 out of 10$0.00, but mine was just a simple cosmetic touch-up...

I’d really just go for something aesthetic too, but I have no clue if it’s always that high with Tončić or if it depends on what he’s actually doing... I have such a nasty bump on my nose and it’s honestly given me so many complexes... I don't even know if it's possible to make it look even a little bit better, at least here in the States😢

edit: okay, so specifically like this 😲

The way they fixed it... if I could just look like that, or even just get close to it😍

My nose was just thin and a little uneven before, but it wasn't like, "ugly" or anything, so I don't feel like I've undergone some massive transformation. It’s the people with those huge, bumpy noses... for them, this is a total game changer 🙂 and honestly, good for them. Mine was just small and cute. 👍
I can't wait until I can finally walk outside looking fresh and clean-faced again. 🙏😍🎉

I'm in a similar boat 🙂 but hang in there! Once you're cleared, you'll be out walking around in no time, showing off that new nose and a totally clear face. 😍

I’ve got a seriously gnarly chin and, frankly, it’s a total complex for me. I'm wondering if there's any way to actually improve it a bit here in the States.😢

edit: exactly like this. 😲
I can't see the image you're trying to share, but honestly? Probably for the best. I’ve seen enough "before and after" shots on these forums to last me three lifetimes. Usually, it’s either someone looking like they got hit by a freight train or someone who looks like a completely different person—which, let's be real, isn't always the goal. If you're looking for my take on a nose job, you'll have to actually show me what we're dealing with first.

Look at how they fixed him up. Honestly? If it were me, or even just close to my style, it would look like this. 😍

A friend from elementary school had something just like this—maybe even worse, honestly. But man, they absolutely nailed the fix. In my opinion, she looks even better in person than she does in the photo. 🙂 Look, don't let the nerves get to you—they can definitely handle this. If you go with him, the price tag should land right around what I mentioned before. But honestly? Your best bet is just to book a consultation. Go meet him in person, have a real conversation, and see how you feel.$83Honestly, who cares if it costs a few thousand extra? If you walk away happy with how you look and actually feel good about yourself, that’s all that matters. I’m not losing any sleep over the extra cash.

I wouldn't regret spending the money.

I actually like this look too, though I don't want mine to be too pointy. As long as they can get rid of that "bump" shown in the picture... Once I see how things go, I'm still not entirely sure which surgeon to choose. Is it actually possible to have purely cosmetic surgery at a hospital setting, or do I absolutely need a deviated septum to qualify? I feel like it might be cheaper that way, and they'd likely achieve the same aesthetic outcome anyway...
Thanks for all the replies 😍

Hey, you guys probably already covered this in the thread—please don't come for me! I'm terrible at scrolling through everything immediately. I did skim the last few pages, but it seems like most of the chatter is about getting cosmetic tweaks from private doctors. So, basically, if anyone could share their firsthand experience or a recommendation... how does the whole hospital setup actually work? I’ve got a deviated septum, and while I’d love to fix the aesthetics too, I’m talking super minimal here—nothing crazy, just wanting to smooth out that little bump on the left side. What’s the actual procedure like, and how does the billing side of things go? Also, should I be less confident about the results since I won't be paying some private specialist $1,000+ to handle it? 😢

Elizabeth Bennett15 said:Terry Morales44, I have to disagree. If you don't walk in there and explicitly tell the doctor exactly what you want for your nose, they’re just going to give you whatever they personally think looks best. And honestly, that isn't just an issue with actresses—it's how most doctors operate.
I laid out every single one of my requirements myself; basically, I made sure the changes wouldn't be drastic, and that's exactly what he delivered. When I went in for my follow-up, the waiting room was full of other girls who had also had nose jobs, and I didn't see a single one that looked remotely similar to mine. One girl had this tiny little nose that looked so unnatural and, frankly, pretty ugly, though clearly that's what she asked for. Another had one that was all pointy—again, super unattractive in my opinion. But then there was a third girl with a truly beautiful, completely natural-looking nose. It really all comes down to the patient. It depends on whether they actually have specific desires or if they just completely surrender control to the surgeon. Usually, when people do that, they end up with those tiny, upturned noses that are nowhere near being aesthetically pleasing...

What I meant was that they often create beautiful noses that just look totally out of place on the face...
By the way, does anyone remember the name of that ENT specialist from the area? You know, the one who's practically a sculptor...

To get straight to the point: can anyone share their firsthand experience or a solid recommendation regarding how this works at a hospital setting? I have a deviated septum, and while I’m interested in some aesthetic work, I want to keep it incredibly subtle—nothing about getting a tiny "button" nose, just smoothing out the bump on my left side. What does the procedure look like, and how does the billing work? Also, should I be less confident in the results since it's not a private specialist where I'm dropping $1,000 out of pocket?😢

That’s exactly what I’m saying... you really need to go see a certain guy in Chicago. I’ve heard him mentioned a few times as someone who does incredible aesthetic nose work—he’s basically a sculptor at this point. Plus, he’s a full ENT, so it's actually his specialty...

I don't think so. Usually, they only do that if there's an actual deviation and they fix it on the way. I'm not 100% sure though since I haven't dealt with that personally, but I guess if you know the right people, anything is possible... 😁

I feel like I saw someone mention on the forum that you can go purely for aesthetics without addressing a deviation, but nobody ever really gave me a straight answer. I’m going to try to get a referral sent over to Washington, D.C., even though I live in a different city, just to see what happens... If anyone finds out anything more about how that works, please let me know. 😁

Honestly, I don’t even have words for this entire thread. You people are an absolute disaster!
Now, anyone stumbling onto this forum is going to think Dr. Kinčl actually acts the way you all claim. Let me tell you from firsthand experience: Dr. Kinčl is a wonderful person. I had surgery with him, and he performed his job perfectly. If he comes off as arrogant to some of you, that’s just not true—he’s a great guy in his own way, you just have to understand him. I have nothing but praise for him, both as a surgeon and as a human being. It really irritates me to see a handful of people gathering here just to smear him, and then seeing others blindly believe them. When I went in for my consultation, I loved everything immediately—the clinic, the head nurse, and him. Even after reading your comments here, I stuck to my guns and went ahead with my scheduled procedure. Because of a few of you dragging him through the mud, people are actually canceling surgeries with him. Don't do that. Would you rather they go to Dr. Glumičić, who spends all his time shoving himself in front of the media? Look, I’m not attacking him—I respect him—but he only specializes in the head and neck area, yet he operates on every single part of plastic surgery, claiming he just "learned by watching others" instead of actually specializing. And for anyone claiming Dr. Kinčl uses those public appearances just to promote himself: that isn't true at all. He was simply the first one to speak up about the need for action regarding the many, many young women that aforementioned doctor disfigured. Sure, maybe there were cases that didn't turn out perfectly with Dr. Kinčl, but there isn't a single veteran plastic surgeon in the world who hasn't made a mistake. The problem is that someone posts "Dr. Kinčl" as a title, and immediately a few people start trashing him, making it look like he's incompetent. I am blown away by him and his work. You always have to have realistic expectations; you can't go in for lip fillers and expect to look exactly like Angelina's... it all depends on your own anatomy. By the way, Kinčl is the only licensed plastic surgeon in the country. He served as a volunteer throughout the American Civil War and is the only surgeon included in the book The Hand of Mercy. All his awards and specializations speak to him not just as a doctor, but as a man. So, to the people who just love to bash others because they lack any sense of normalcy: please, just stay away. You’re pathetic, and you aren't doing anything to hurt Dr. Kinčl, whose hallways are always packed with patients. Your miserable little intentions aren't working. DR. KINČL IS THE BEST. I’d honestly go in for another surgery just to have a conversation with him because he is such an intelligent and kind soul... alright, I've praised him enough, now I'm out. Bye bye.

What a pathetic advertisement... if he were truly the best in the world, she wouldn't be looking elsewhere. This whole glowing review feels like a joke meant to trigger a laugh... honestly, there are incredible specialists outside of Washington, D.C. who don't feel the need to parade themselves on TV like Kinčl or Glumičić.😉

So, I got my pre-op shot—well, slightly above the butt, if you catch my drift—about 15 days ago. Now, out of nowhere, everything around that injection site is turning bright red and itching like crazy... anyone else dealt with this? What could be going on? Hmmm... looks like I'll have to give the nurse a call.

Nika and Jose James15, your own usernames alone prove how pathetic and clueless you both are—it’s got nothing to do with what I actually wrote. Look, I wasn't out there "promoting" him. Like I already said, his hallways are packed with people regardless of whether you two exist on this forum. I simply stated my opinion and shut down the nonsense some people were trying to claim I said. Anyway, ciao ciao :-)

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to check in and give you all my first update since surgery. So, I went in to see Dr. Bastaić on Monday afternoon for the procedure (he did my rhinoplasty and the tip of my nose). Today, I’m headed back in to get the packing removed. Honestly, I haven't felt a single bit of pain since the operation! His nurse actually gave me a call yesterday just to check in and see if I was dealing with any bruising. I told her there isn't even a hint of anything visible outside of the bandages, and she basically said that if I had any bruising at all, it would definitely be showing up on my lower eyelids or something like that.

I should have the splint taken off this Monday, and then the rest of the taping comes off on Tuesday... but first things first, let's get these tampons out! :-)

Hey everyone!

First time posting here. I’m just another person who's fed up with my nose, and after stalling for way too long, I've finally decided to just get it over with and go for surgery. I already have a consultation booked with Dr. Glumičić, so we'll see what he has to say.
I've been scrolling through this entire thread looking at all these different surgeons mentioned, but I noticed something—hardly anyone is even bringing up Dr. Zdenko Stanec. Zdenko Stanec He runs the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic over at the Mayo Clinic, but he also operates his own private practice, EDUMED, alongside his wife.

Anyone here have any experience with this clinic? EDUMED What about Dr. Zdenko Stanec?
