I had a deviated septum, and they actually ended up doing a reconstruction on my crooked nasal bone along with narrowing the nasal passages via RF submucous resection... I guess I was bracing myself for the absolute worst, but honestly, things couldn't have gone any better. I just hope I'll feel this same level of satisfaction once all the swelling finally goes down...🙂

Take your time and browse the forums; read through people's actual experiences. Though, keep in mind that experiences with the same doctor can vary wildly—I'm living proof of that. Everything turned out great for me, but I'm basically an outlier here.😁

You can find almost anything online if you just Google it; there are entire threads dedicated to specific surgeons. Mind you, they aren't exactly located in small towns like Springfield... Chicago is relatively close to the Midwest, so you could drive there, have someone pick you up, wait with you, and bring you back home the same day.
Trusting your surgeon is the most important thing. If you find a doctor you truly connect with, it's better to pay $667 a bit more just to have peace of mind. The most famous doctor isn't necessarily the best one. As for the age limit, I'm not sure, but you can find that info online.
There's no magic secret here—we're all terrified of how things will turn out. Some people get lucky, others don't, and that's just the reality of it.

My own experience was so incredible that I'm actually planning on going back for more.☕

So, I’m finally back home after my surgery. I had the procedure yesterday morning at Mayo Clinic—which was actually quite seamless—and honestly, it went better than I had anticipated. I didn't feel any pain during the process, nor am I feeling much of anything now. The doctors and nursing staff were absolutely top-notch; really excellent service all around. I was under general anesthesia, and I didn't experience any of that post-op nausea or dizziness that people always talk about. I just drifted off and then woke up in my recovery room.🙏👍

I have to head back in this coming Monday morning to have the tampons removed.🙂

They finally took my stitches out today—and apparently, they’re pulling off the bandages this Friday. 🙂

I’m not entirely certain—but if you look back toward the very beginning of this forum, one woman already posted about that exact point.

I have a feeling this is perfectly normal—or rather, it still falls under the category of swelling. It’s been a month since the surgery, and micro-swelling can linger for several months. It isn't a crisis, but I can certainly see it and feel it under my fingers. That is why I am waiting to hear back from my doctors to see how they are reading things.

I finally took the bandage off and had my stitches removed yesterday. Honestly, everything feels great—I’m actually really happy with how it looks. Of course, there's still some swelling, but it’s mostly smooth now; that weird little bump on the tip of my nose is gone, and I think it looks wonderful. The tip is still pretty sensitive, but I suppose I just have to be patient and let things settle into place over time.
@Jesse Taylor7, I suspect it’s probably just lingering swelling, so don't sweat it too much. I’m sure it’ll all turn out fine :-), since my doctor mentioned yesterday that it takes about six weeks to see the actual final result.....

I actually had my surgery last Tuesday, so it’s only been about ten days. My nose is still swollen—nothing crazy, I guess—but it feels like the area right at the bridge is a bit more puffed up than the rest. I could swear there’s a little bump there and maybe a hint of bruising, but my husband keeps insisting he doesn't see anything. My doctor also mentioned there isn't really a bump, just that it’s normal since they worked most heavily in that specific spot, and everything should settle down in a week or two. I don't know, I feel something when I touch it... or maybe I don't... it just looks a little bluish to me.

I did a little digging regarding that small bump right at the base of my nose. It turns out this is perfectly normal; one simply needs to massage the area and it will eventually subside. 👍

Bob, what can I tell you? It’s been exactly one month today, and I still have bruising under my eyes and that same swelling right at the bridge of my nose, just like you described.🙄 I’ve been massaging the area myself every single day.😉 Are you going in for lymphatic drainage sessions? I still can't even smile naturally because my face feels so stiff, and only one stitch has come out so far! Everything is moving at such a snail's pace, and while I am waiting patiently,☕ I am also losing my mind.😵

Hey Tom! I'm glad you reached out.🙂 I went to lymphatic drainage once😁 , but honestly, I'm never going back. I look in the mirror from below and it looks like there are threads poking out of my nose. Only one of mine came loose. That little lump, that bump... it really worried me. I called the clinic and they told me it's perfectly normal, that I should just keep massaging it and that it'll shrink over time🙏 . In reality, nothing is bothering me. I feel like I can smile more naturally now. My only real concern is making sure I don't end up with a permanent lump.

Man, my bump used to be slightly off to the left and on the bridge, but now it's just right on the bridge—very slight. I can feel a little ridge when I touch it, but the main issue is this faint pinkish discoloration on the bridge of my nose. It isn't fading at all; concealer doesn't even touch it... I'm trying not to freak out just yet while I wait for my consultation. I don't get why the redness hasn't gone away, especially since it's been months and weeks now, even though the swelling has finally gone down.😕
