Good grief... where did you come from? You seem to have a habit of weighing in on things you have zero firsthand experience with...

If you actually bothered to read all the posts in this thread, you’d see that everything being discussed is based on the actual experiences of people who have had nose surgery or are planning to get it...

Even though our concerns might seem trivial to people who haven't dealt with this themselves, most people here don't act like know-it-alls or try to belittle us...

As for "don't sweat it"—the question I asked wasn't directed at you. If my concern is bothering you that much, feel free to head over to the forums about dating, sex, or drugs instead. I think you'll find those topics more your speed...

I had a rhinoplasty about six years ago, but they didn't touch my nasal tip because I was way too young at the time—only 16. Now, it feels like my nose is slowly drooping. It’s probably just millimeters, but to me, it feels like miles🙂... My doctor mentioned this happens quite often when the tip isn't adjusted, so I wanted to see if anyone else here has dealt with something similar?
I'm already planning on getting a little touch-up surgery soon! (People love to warn you that plastic surgery is addictive, though😁)

northerntinker13? wtf? 🤔

I didn't have my tip touched either... and mine seems totally fine. You're probably just overthinking it..😉

Now, I’ve noticed that the bridge of my nose has started to slowly settle or drop. It might only be a matter of millimeters to a surgeon, but to me, it feels like miles.🙂So, my doctor mentioned that this is actually a pretty common thing for people who haven't really explored their own bodies much, which honestly caught me a bit off guard. It makes me wonder if anyone else here has gone through something similar or had a similar conversation with their physician? I'd love to hear if there are any shared experiences out there.
So, I’m actually planning on heading in for another little procedure very soon! It’s funny, though—I remember people being so kind and gentle when they warned me that getting plastic surgery can become a bit of an addiction, almost like a slippery slope you can't stop sliding down.😁)

I feel exactly the same way. It isn’t even really about the aesthetic side of things for me—it's more about that internal sensation. I honestly get this nagging feeling that my nasal passages are just a bit too tight around the septum area, and whenever I lift the tip of my nose just a tiny bit, it feels like I can finally catch a full, deep breath. It makes such a massive difference in how easy it is to breathe.
So, I was just sitting here thinking about my upcoming schedule and realized how much ground I still need to cover. I’ve been bouncing between different offices all week trying to get everything squared away. I actually just finished up my session with one specialist, but now I'm trying to figure out exactly when I'll be heading over to see the auditor. Does anyone happen to know who they're seeing for their review, or which firm they're using this year?

I used to go to Dr. Miller's clinic in Chicago, but honestly, I have no clue who to see now🤷 .
The doctor I saw for my checkup actually suggested I just go eat a salad instead.

Grace Hernandez66 said:It was on the left side at first, and even creeping up toward the bridge of my nose. Now, it’s settled mostly on the bridge, though there's just a tiny bit left. If I touch it, I can feel a slight ridge, a sort of transition in the skin, but that isn't the real issue here. The real problem? That stubborn, baby-pink redness right on the bridge of my nose. It simply refuses to budge. It won't fade. It won't retreat. I’ve tried using concealer, but it’s useless; the color just shines right through. I am trying my best not to spiral into a panic, truly I am. I'm waiting for my appointment with the dermatologist. I just don't understand it. Why hasn't the redness receded? It has been months—literally months—and yet the discoloration remains constant, even though the swelling has finally gone down. How does that even happen?😕

Pepsi, hey. I’m dealing with some redness on my left side and down the middle too. You should probably give your doctor's office a call about that irritation—it’s likely nothing serious, but you'll feel better once you get a professional opinion. Maybe there's a cream that could speed up the healing process? Also, I'm a bit confused by that Heparrombin cream mentioned; apparently, it's supposed to be used, but I haven't tried it myself.

Hey everyone... I've been reading through all these posts and honestly, I'm feeling pretty terrified. My nose is just... it’s a disaster. It's not huge, but it's crooked and tilts to one side, and I can't stand looking at it anymore. I just want to look like a regular person, you know? I think I've finally made up my mind about getting surgery, but I'm stuck on where to go—should I stay local here in my hometown or head over to a major city like Chicago or NYC for a specialist? I have no clue what the first step is or even what to say during a consultation. Should I start by talking to my primary care doctor first or just jump straight in? Please help me out... thanks!

I don't quite understand this Heparin ointment she mentioned needing, as I haven't used it myself.

Hi, I haven't used that ointment either because my sister told me it wasn't necessary (I asked her back when we were removing the mold)! How long are we supposed to use that salve? And are you dealing with blackheads? I never had blackheads, yet suddenly they've appeared—these tiny little devils.😈How do I get rid of these blemishes? Should I just pick up those Dove patches?
The bridge of my nose is still swollen.☕
Write back.👋

Hi! Honestly, I don't think you need the ointment anymore since the internal cuts have healed up. I only apply mine if I overdo it with cleaning 😁, basically whenever I irritate the area. As for blackheads, I've always struggled with them. The trick is to steam your face first—open those pores up—and then it works much better. For me, there's this sort of bump at the bridge of my nose. It gets more noticeable in the evening, but I feel like it’s slightly smaller than it used to be. Everything is slowly returning to normal; nobody can even tell my nose looks smaller 👍, only the people who already know. Write back! 👋

Hey everyone... I’m 16 years old and I’ve been giving this a lot of thought lately—I'm planning on getting rhinoplasty. There are two ways I could play this:
1. Pay out of pocket for a private cosmetic surgeon, which would cost a small fortune—not exactly an appealing thought to me right now.
2. Go through my primary care physician to get a referral for a psychiatrist in Chicago. If they deem it medically necessary, the surgery could be covered by insurance. A friend of mine actually managed to get ear surgery this way, so I know it's possible. My only real worry is whether the quality of work will suffer because it's "free." I have this nagging fear that if the doctor isn't paying out of pocket, they might not put in the extra effort to make it perfect. 😢 By the way, I have a deviated septum... there's a bump right in the middle and the tip looks a bit bulbous. 😢 I'm curious to hear your thoughts... is it actually possible to fix all of this and achieve an ideal nose shape??🙂 Also, if anyone here has experience with this or knows someone who used this specific route to get their surgery done... how did it turn out? Was the result great, or was the surgeon just lazy because the procedure was covered by insurance? One more thing... I know people say you shouldn't schedule surgery during the summer, but I honestly can't wait. I'm already working hard to keep my grades up so that in about six months, I can go for it without feeling guilty about my schoolwork. How risky is it to have the procedure in the summer?
Thanks in advance for the help.

It’s been nearly two weeks since my procedure—well, since the OP posted—and I suppose I’m fairly satisfied with how everything is panning out so far. My nose tip is still a bit tender, though... maybe just a little sensitive, if you can call it that, but overall it seems okay.

I notice some people seem genuinely terrified of seeing any doctor who isn't part of a private practice. Why is that? It’s not like they’re doing it for free; just because you aren't paying out of your own pocket right then doesn't mean the service isn't being funded. And let's be honest—even a private specialist can't guarantee perfection. If something actually goes sideways during a procedure, you're already in a major hospital facility, which is honestly a huge advantage. Plus, the surgeons working in these public systems are incredibly skilled and professional.
I'm truly glad to see that most of you here are satisfied and that you managed to get exactly what you needed.

You're way too young and you're still growing; it would be much smarter to just hang in there for a few more years. Personally, myself and a lot of my female friends find guys with rugged features incredibly attractive—think Daniel Day-Lewis, Sean Penn, or Adrien Brody... when I see someone with a perfectly smooth "Barbie" nose, I actually feel a bit sorry for them. It’s possible your look will change as you mature, so don't rush into this just for aesthetics. Remember, a surgeon isn't a dentist, you know!

Hey everyone... thanks, Lara, for the feedback. I totally hear you on the Barbie look regarding Peter Graşe's profile 🙂
That isn't actually what I'm going for. My goal is simply to have a standard MASCULINE nose. I want something larger and more defined, perhaps with a slightly smaller tip and without any bumps. I looked into how things change as we age, and there doesn't seem to be a major risk involved (though I appreciate the heads-up regardless). The real issue is my deviated septum. It's making breathing difficult, so I need to get surgery done as soon as possible. The aesthetic improvements would just be a nice bonus. 😁

Well, larlar makes a point. I suppose I could go in for some corrections myself, but if I ended up with a slightly sunken bridge or even just a minor imperfection, it would absolutely wreck my entire look. It’s just not something that would suit me, so I'm not messing around with it.

...Look, I get it. We all have to align our expectations and desires with what actually suits our facial structure (cosmicsailor11) 😉 but I am just certain that my profile isn't quite where it needs to be. 😢 So, I did a little experiment in Photoshop to see which nose shape would actually suit me... and I found it. (I know, that sounds more like I’m shopping for lingerie than discussing surgery)...XD. A few close, honest friends have also confirmed that my overall look would improve significantly if I just corrected that damn nose. My old lady keeps insisting that it would actually be sexy on a man (by the way, she's the one who introduced me to 😢 )... but she finally gave me her unfiltered opinion after I badgered her until she dropped her "motherly" duty to give me a polite answer and instead focused purely on the aesthetics that can be improved (alongside the medical benefit of better breathing). She agreed with me that I'd look better 😁 ....It’s not that I’m totally insecure or anything... it’s just that I have the opportunity to upgrade, so why wouldn't I take it? The world is harsh these days, and looking good matters.....

I’d honestly rather just design my own look and have them cut it exactly how I want,
but I’ve already been through this once before and ran straight into a total hack of a surgeon.
It was a complete disaster, so now I’m stuck having to redo the whole thing; I had the procedure ages ago and I think he messed up one side—like, my breathing is totally off because of him. God, some of these doctors are just terrifying...
That’s why I’m finally asking around to see if anyone actually knows a decent professional who can just make two or three clean, simple incisions, but it seems like nobody here really knows the deal either.
I swear, I’ll end up in the Guinness World Records at this rate; I’ve gone in ten different times trying to get my deviated septum fixed, but it just won't budge. 😂

Drop all the names here—who’s actually legit and who should be avoided at all costs?
The second guy, besides Dr. Rak, who's totally useless, is Miljenko Kovacic.😉
I've heard two names recommended, Dr. Mladina over at Shalati and Esad Avdagic at St. Jude's.
Anyone have the scoop on them?
Oh, and also Chief Surgeon Munitić over at Mercury.
