To summarize, I shall list all the values that have exceeded the standard range. I am interested in hearing your perspectives before my appointment with the physician.

Platelets 431 (ref. interval 158-424)
Basophilic granulocytes 0.12 (ref. int. 0-0.06)—is this elevation significant? 😳
fibrinogen 5.2 (r.i. 1.5-4.0)
Triglycerides 1.09 (recommended
Decreased: Neutrophil granulocytes: 42.8 (r.i. 44-72)

Can anyone who actually knows how to read these results give me some insight?
So, I've been dealing with pain in my knuckles and two tiny Heberden's nodes on my thumb joints.
I went ahead and got a full blood panel done—most things look fine, but a couple of markers are slightly off.
Here’s the breakdown:
- ESR is 12 (normal goes up to 10)
- CRP 2.4 (normal range is 0.0 - 5.0)
- ASTO 122 (normal range is 0.0 - 200.0)
- RF 0.9 (normal range is 0.0 - 40.0)

Urine test:
- A little bit of urate salt, but everything else seems okay

The thing I'm stuck on is the RF... I've seen people online saying it's either positive or negative, but based on my numbers, it looks totally normal to me. I just don't know if that counts as "negative" or what!
My thumb joint has been bothering me for months now, and for the last two months, all my knuckle joints have started acting up too. Since my appointment with the rheumatologist isn't until late January, I'd really appreciate it if anyone who knows their stuff could help me make sense of this. Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, sending big love to the whole group!
Could someone please help me make sense of these results? I’m honestly a bit lost—what does each of these hormone levels actually mean?
So, I just checked my progesterone levels and they're sitting at 12.9 ng/ml. Given that the standard range usually tops out around 1.5 ng/ml, anyone else seeing numbers this high? What do we think? So, what does it mean when someone says this is "too much"? Honestly, I’m a bit lost because I don't even know what progesterone actually is. Any idea?🙏 So, anyway,

So, I just got my testosterone results back, and it looks like I'm sitting at 1.01 ng/mL. Given that the standard range is usually between 0.06 and 0.82, I guess you could say I'm officially running a little hot, right? So, it’s not exactly through the roof, but I honestly have no clue what I'm looking at here... plus, there's this other thing too. Any ideas?

So, I just got my latest labs back, and it looks like my DHEA sulfate is sitting at 439 ug/dl. Given that the standard range is usually between 60 and 300 ug/dl, I’m definitely running a bit on the high side, aren't I? Just wanted to throw that out there and see if anyone else has dealt with similar numbers. So, looks like this one is running high too...
If anyone knows anything at all, please let me know! Thanks so much!

Here’s today’s labs:
sedimentation 8
RDW 11.4L
PCT 0.17L
MPV 7.5L
PDW 17.2H
fibrinogen 5.2
What am I even looking at here... I'm worried about this bleeding from my navel too (happened one day)... looked like some pinkish fluid, maybe lymph mixed with blood. Everything was supposedly cleared up, but there's still this deep pain around the belly button. I don't like any of this...🤷

Hey everyone, I see some smart people in here, so I was hoping you could help me make sense of something. What does it actually mean when there's bilirubin in the urine? My husband’s blood work looks great and his urinalysis is solid, but his bilirubin is sitting right at the upper limit of 20. His internist isn't worried since his ALT and AST levels are perfectly normal, but he does take protein supplements because he's training hard. Could there be a connection there?🤷

Thanks.

I honestly don't quite grasp why everyone keeps coming here with these same questions... Your doctor already gave you the reassurance you needed, telling you there's nothing to worry about. Having bilirubin right at the upper limit of the normal range doesn't signify anything at all—and frankly, even if it’s slightly elevated, say up to 30, it still doesn't mean a thing.

Look, this forum exists specifically for asking questions and getting answers, so why the attitude? Clearly, some people aren't comfortable relying solely on one person's opinion. My bad if my question was a waste of space.😠

For months now, I’ve been dealing with elevated Asta levels in my bloodwork. When I asked my doctor about it, they suggested there might be some kind of bacterial infection running through my system. I went back for another Asta test about a week ago—the result came back positive, though for some reason, they didn't bother to list the actual value. On top of all this, I’m also managing palmoplantar psoriasis, which has my palms and soles in pretty rough shape... Right now, the toes on my right foot are swollen up, so my doctor put me on a course of Klavocin, but even after five days of taking it, the swelling and pain haven't budged an inch.
I'm honestly starting to spiral here—could the Asta levels actually be linked to what's going on with my toes? I am incredibly worried. I've already gone through the whole gauntlet—seeing an orthopedist, a physical therapist, and a rheumatologist—but every single one of them told me my results were perfectly normal.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer!

That’s what we call the antistreptolysin titer. Basically, it’s just a way of showing you have antibodies lingering from some untreated strep infection—most likely a sore throat that might have even happened back when you were a kid... Now, joint pain can sometimes be triggered by an untreated strep infection (though I can't say for certain if that's what's happening in your specific case), but you should definitely make an appointment with a rheumatologist to get checked out properly.

What’s your take on these results? http://img190.imageshack.us/i/dsc00529tb.jpg/
Is there any chance this points toward some kind of lung issue? Also, just for context, my levels are running a bit high at:
eritrocit 5,85 hemoglobin 178

Look, this report isn't providing the full story. We really need more testing to get a clear picture of what’s actually going on—specifically regarding those fluctuations in pH, oxygen partial pressure, CO2 levels, and saturation. First things first, we need a full medical history, a physical exam, and probably a chest X-ray. I’m assuming that wherever you had these tests done, they also performed other diagnostics and an evaluation; you should definitely sit down and consult with the attending physician there. Unfortunately, you aren't going to find a definitive answer here, because, as I mentioned before, we just don't have enough pieces of the puzzle to see the whole picture yet.

I need some help interpreting these lab results
Urinalysis findings: Haemoglobinuria
Cytology report: urine sediment x 3
Microscopic examination: The sample shows presence of urothelial squamous epithelial cells, some neutrophil granulocytes, and microorganisms.
Thanks.

I'm 23 and I've recently started feeling bouts of tachycardia, mostly right before I head to bed. I also get this occasional, faint, dull pain in my chest—nothing constant, just maybe once or twice a day at most. Here are my Holter monitor results:

Code:
Ventricular events - all 0.
QRS complexes: 92907
Artifacts: 1812

Supraventricular events
SVES (Early < 80%): 2
SVTach (> 120 bpm): 0

Arrhythmias
[not applicable] (delayed > 140%): 2
longest: 1.52 s at 5:02
Bradycardia (< 50 bpm): 25
Lowest: 43/min at 5:51

Conclusion:
Sinus rhythm, avg freq. 68/min. (56 - 136).
2 SVES recorded, all other findings within normal limits.

Can anyone help me make sense of these readings?

Basically a normal reading. A few noted "skipped beats," specifically a supraventricular extrasystole—harmless, purely cosmetic. The underlying rhythm is sinus rhythm at a normal rate... it's absolutely fine. During the night, there were a couple of instances where the heart rate dropped slightly along with one pause; that's common enough. Nothing to worry about. My suggestion would be an exercise stress test—treadmill or stationary bike—just to see if that chest pain is cardiac-related. At your age, assuming you've been healthy so far, and especially given you're female, heart issues are almost entirely ruled out.

Best,

Hey there!
Does anyone happen to know where I can go at Star Health to get a swab done—specifically, where do they handle urine cultures?

Could someone please help me understand my recent lab results? My AST and ALT levels came back within the normal range, and both my Waaler - Rose modif. and Rf tests were also fine. However, the Latex RF came back positive. I am wondering what the next steps should be...

The result came back at 57.29 out of 125. I am wondering, what are the critical thresholds here—is it a matter of being too high or too low?

Quick question for the folks here who really know their stuff:

I just got my results back from my routine physical, and for the most part, everything looks totally fine! Most of my blood work is right within the normal range, except for my ALP (alkaline phosphatase). It came back at 156, but according to the lab report, the upper limit for men over 20 is 142. I remember seeing somewhere online that the cutoff might be as high as 270, though I’m honestly not sure if that’s accurate or just wishful thinking on my part.

Now, I’ve been doing a bit of reading, and I noticed some mentions about this being used as a tumor marker if the levels are elevated. What I’m really wondering is, if there were actually something wrong, would other things in my blood work also show up outside the normal range? And when people say "elevated," what does that actually look like in practice? Are we talking a slight bump of 10% or 20%, or is it something much more dramatic?

Thanks so much!
