Limitless (2011)

I wasn't feeling anything after that SPOILER scene where he's in the apartment, kills the guy, and there's blood everywhere . From that point on, it just felt pointless. Up until then, it was great, but they should have gone with a darker, more gritty ending instead of making everything all rosy after everything he did.

I won't quote you directly because I don't want to trigger any accidental spoilers, but those scenes set in the apartment were easily the most entertaining parts of the entire movie for me.🙂 spoiler alert The way he takes out that assistant using a piano? Now that is what I call a classy execution. And honestly, seeing how they managed to bust through those doors—it’s almost hard to believe, yet somehow perfectly normal in this kind of cinematic world when someone starts hammering away at heavy metal doors.

I mean, come on... you’re basically talking about how everything feels after that final 20-minute stretch of the movie...😢

It’s a blast. Honestly, I wasn't bored for even a second, which doesn't happen for me very often. The acting is solid, too. All in all, it's definitely worth a watch—one of the better recent movies 🙂

Interesting. A fun, high-energy flick. They did butcher the ending, though. When Robert De Niro shows up at his office to squeeze him, Bradley Cooper puts on this terrified face—like he’s panicking because everything just fell apart. Then—spoiler alert—he walks down to the car and tells Robert De Niro that he actually owns more factories, he figured it all out, he's fixing the pill to stop the side effects, and he's totally in control. Why the panicked look in the office then? That beat was unnecessary. For a movie like this, they could have gone a different route; it feels a bit too much like a "happy end" for this genre. Just my two cents. And one more thing: who actually killed the security guards and sent him their hands? Was it the money lender or the guy working for Atwood? Also, how does he know exactly what's going to happen to put those hands in the safe with the middle finger? If you're going to make an unrealistic movie, don't go so far off the rails that nothing makes sense anymore. In the end, he gets the fame, the cash, and the girl. A total happy end. 🙂

Fantastic movie—I actually caught it at the theater today, and wow, it was truly great...

So much fun! It’s just under two hours, but the time absolutely flew by...

I can honestly say this is one of the better recent releases out there...

It’s a solid 9/10 for me, without a doubt...

Honestly, I hated it. It felt like some cheap, watered-down version of the original Sky 🤷

The writer was completely unconvincing, and honestly, Robert De Niro’s role was way too short.
Plus, that whole relationship he has with that woman? Totally underdeveloped.
Thank god I just watched it online.

That whole bit where Robert De Niro argues he earned his spot through pure grit and experience—basically claiming he’s got more substance than some writer who just stumbled into talent by sheer luck... I love it. It’s gold.
It’s honestly such a shame they decided to have Robert De Niro lose out in the end without much of a fight, though.
And seriously, if Robert De Niro ends up owning a pharmaceutical plant that pumps out those pills, why on earth isn't he taking them himself? He’d probably be twice as sharp as the lead character. Now *that* would be a killer plot twist...

So, I finally sat down and watched it. Honestly, the whole thing just reminded me once again how much Abbie Cornish gets overlooked by critics.
Aside from that, I don't know, the movie was... fine? But man, it really rubbed me the wrong way how incredibly stupid certain plot points were resolved—like when some guy with a chainsaw somehow manages to bypass three completely independent security systems and other nonsense like that, which just totally kills the immersion for me. What's actually cool is the core concept itself, and, as one of the folks on this forum mentioned earlier, I think it might have been significantly more compelling if they had "scaled up" the idea to a global level—you know, playing around with potential totalitarian regimes or various political "-isms"—but hey, it is what it is. Usually, I tend to criticize movies for wandering too far off their main path, but in this specific case, I think a bit of expansion might have actually worked, even if it wasn't executed here. Bradley Cooper is decent enough, and 🙏 Robert De Niro is basically there to prove my theory that "even a blind squirrel finds a nut" every few years (just every X years, you know?). It was entertaining enough to sit through, I guess.

Yeah, that part bugged me too. The ending felt rushed—left me feeling kind of empty. Otherwise, it's solid; Bradley Cooper is great and the movie is pretty interesting overall.

I guess if you’re just looking for something to kill some time when you're bored, this isn't exactly groundbreaking. I find myself fascinated by Robert De Niro, though—it's kind of strange seeing him show up in these increasingly silly movies 🙂 .

Well, maybe the neighbors heard... though, actually, it probably would have been better if they hadn't... 🤣😁

I was honestly on edge the whole time because within ten minutes, I realized this movie was just plain stupid. Like, if you want an example of how "subtle" this film is, there’s this scene where the main guy is writing so well that the director decides to hammer it home by having gold letters literally raining down around him in his apartment. WTF? It's just special effects for the sake of special effects. I don't know, man, I was seriously disappointed watching this.

I found the film quite entertaining, though I must say it feels somewhat incomplete. The happy ending didn't quite sit right with me—perhaps that is simply a byproduct of parental anxiety. In fact, one could almost argue the film’s underlying message is: "Go ahead, kids, try drugs!"
Is there any actual clarification regarding what became of the model, or are we meant to be left searching for answers, just as lost as the protagonist?

Boring. The ending was abnormally stupid; if it had been even slightly more interesting, I wouldn't have found the movie so dull. But hey, at least there's something to talk about afterward. It’s not exactly terrible. You can watch it and pretty much drift right off to sleep.
